if hana thought that anything was rather strange in the last few days after the glitch that had happened to her pcd, the answer that would be to that particular question--would have been nothing but a big, fat nope. as usual, she had been nothing but drunk--for more than the 30 seconds that the glitch had happened. she had been awake for 48 hours, and still, her body hadn’t seemed to register much of the fact that anything was wrong. it was times like these that reminded hana--she was nothing more than just a fraction of the human that she was before.
it was nothing but a morose reminder sometimes, of how terrible life was for her as someone who was supposedly human and yet wasn’t truly human anymore. she spared a glance at her pcd, dark eyes flickering as she noted the glowing graphics around her, a faint but sordid sigh passing through her parted lips as she deeply frowned. “what do you mean that i’m bothered by the thing that happened?” dark, obsidian eyes flickered ever so slightly as she glanced towards the other male, fatigue lining the edges and contours of her features as a murmuring sigh bubbled from her very lips. “i...honestly couldn’t even be bothered with what was happening.” she admitted rather sheepishly, almost half embarrassed at how utterly disregarding she was with regards to the strangeness in the whole glitch. “you know, sometimes i guess its because i’ve been getting a little--strangely tired of things, i find myself not caring if i’m watched or not. if they do, good for them, they get free shows when i fuck people. i guess some really do have the strangest taste. if they don’t, then whatever. it honestly doesn’t concern me, so its not something that i’m looking at as something necessary for me to worry about.”
the glass of scotch finds its way back to her lips once more, ice clinking together in the glass as the alcohol burned a pathway down her tender throat, bile slowly gathering in the back of her throat as she swallowed back her other words. “why? what about you?” brows raised, she turned slightly towards the male, vaguely inquiring with a slight wave of her slender hand. “i’m sure if you weren’t perhaps worried yourself, you wouldn’t have asked me this question..isn’t it?”

resubin:
well, that’s rather embarrassing. maybe subin could blame it on the alcohol. clearing her throat to rid of the rapidly warming flush that rises upwards from the base of her neck to color her cheeks, subin takes a moment to recenter herself; this is a moment like any other where she builds up a character, one similar to her own but not entirely identical, and acts the role. regardless of her immediately hiccup, that could be rectified by a persona of childish naivety. so, she head dipped in a polite manner (the woman looked a tad bit older after all), and responds, “sorry, i mean good… morning to you, too. i’m sorry, have we met before?”
“nope.” hana is someone that deeply believes in the idea of chances and possibilities when it comes to meeting another--the very kind to just take things leisurely in her own stride as came and went. which was why when the other girl popped up in her periphery sipping upon a drink and subtly entranced by her figure, she sees it as an absolute opportunity to introduce herself in the most memorable way imaginable. she chuckles at the flabbergasted sound that leaves the other’s lips, pulling back her hair with a wild grin upon her lips. “we haven’t met at all. but meeting here likewise is destiny in a way.” she leaned forward, a cat-like grin upon her lips as she tasted the words that left her parted tiers. “don’t you think so too?” she raised the glass she had been holding in the direction of the pretty lady.
the ice clinks against the glass as she tips it lightly towards her ruby lips, throat bobbing delicately as she swallowed, tongue licking her lips as she smacked them together, tasting the subtle burn of alcohol that raced down her throat. “so what are you doing here, miss-i’ve-never-met-you-before?” she questioned lightly, the ping of the glass against the bar table a melodic chime to her ears. “are you like the many of us drowning our sorrows in this heavenly paradise? or are you too here to let loose and just have some fun?”
she’s tempted to lean forward against the girl just like days of the old, where she’s reminded of the times where her body had to be pressed up against others, just to be able to function well and linger like everyone else did in the world. except things were much different now. she was doing this not for survival, but only because she desired it. whatever strange thing it was, something about this girl called out to hana, lingering if not for a moment, before dissipating just as it always did whenever someone evoked her curiousity, then settled it.
“i promise i won’t eat you.” she grinned, winking cheekily at the other girl. “i prefer devouring men than girls. they’re much..easier at times to manipulate.”

rezhao:
he was close to giving up.
one day, xi-wang was conveniently placing the trays filled with baked cookies to cool off to the side, brushing his bangs out of his eyes as he puffed out his cheeks and nodded, he felt quite proud of doing all this work, and his baking was getting better. as he looked up, he noticed a familiar frame outside, and quickly made his way to open the door, peering out and gently calling her out once more. maybe one last try wouldn’t hurt.
“hey. want to come inside and have some tea? the cookies are fresh too.”
hana couldn’t exactly remember the time and the day that she had last eaten something sweet. was it years before when she was about 16? or perhaps before everything else went to shit at the ripe old age of 75? long lashes fluttered delicately as she stared at the baked treats with pursed lips and quiet eyes, cheeks burning as she routinely forced herself away from the bright smile that the owner seemed to constantly give and the effervescent cuteness that the kitten in the glass window seemed to constantly exude.
at first it was easy to ignore his presence--after all, hana was nothing but good at ignoring things that she could actually ignore. then it started getting harder as she slowly found him matching his cleaning routine to each time that she turned up in front of the glass window, mouth silently watering at his treats but mind stubbornly punishing herself in absolute restraint. she wasn’t worthy enough to treat herself to sweet treats anyway, as the person that she was. the errant thought was always the sole one that she relied on to effectively convince herself to pull her feet from the spot and turn away from the bakery shop and its delicious treats.
but still, he persevered. and hana remembers the first time that she got the biggest shock of her life when his face loomed widely in the glass, nearly drawing a shriek of surprise from her lips when she first saw him beam at her through the glass, before hearing soft words of an invite bubbling from his lips. terror and surprise had overwhelmed her enough to send an eye roll in his direction--and the consequent ones...were merely a result of her disgruntledness at him scaring her for the first time round.
dammit. the familiar sound of his voice has her completely halting in her footsteps, unhappy as the sweet smell of the treats that he baked wafted towards her as her stomach loudly growled.
“its...okay.” the words weren’t said with little difficulty--in fact, it was quite visible for one to see how much hana was trying to hold back her desire to eat a piece of the sweet treat, with how intense her eyes were practically boring holes into the plate of cookies that sat cooling off in the near distance. “i’ve...eaten.” as though to completely counter and embarrass her, hana’s stomach growled furiously in retaliation, as hana blinked up at the store owner with what only could be interpreted as absolute mortification.

maeumre:
“is it really morning?” she inquires curiously, allowing her eyes to land on the woman with ruby lips. “well it would be impolite of me to just greet you with a question, so, good morning to you too,” maeum shoots her a smile of her own, but it doesn’t quite reach her eyes. “would you like a pretty lie or perhaps tolerable truth? if i’m being genuine, then i’d say that i feel so alone in this atrociously large crowd, but if i’m being a clever little liar, i’d say that i’m marveling at the beauty of it all.”
“what about you?”
the woman was odd--hana thought quietly to herself as she watched her with knowing eyes and slightly parted lips. “the pretty lie sounds good.” none knew more about self-deceit than hana herself, having done much of it throughout her entire lifetime, even before she got into afterlife. “though if you truly said it as though you believed in it, it would have been much better.” she raised the glass to her lips slyly, a grin painting her red lips. “so--” she swallowed the rest of her drink, brows pinching together lightly in a faint grimace. “if you had straight up told me the pretty little lie, i wouldn’t have believed it either.” she stuck out her tongue a little playfully at the other female.
“but either way is fine. whether its a lie or a genuine one, it doesn’t matter much in this place, doesn’t it?” a crooked smirk played upon hana’s lips as she turned to face the other woman. “we’re already dead, so why hold on to the morals of the living?” she watches with clear eyes the smile that doesn’t reach the other woman’s eyes, hesitant to set her eyes upon her username without any particular permission. “i’m hana.” introductions were unnecessary--but it never sat well with hana to be called azalea instead of hana. she couldn’t taint the flower with someone of her pedigree after all. “i’m going to get a refill of my drink.” a lazy smile flickers over her lips as she shakes the empty glass in the other woman’s direction. “care to grab one with me, or would you rather linger around in the middle of this crowd when you don’t want to?”
the extending of an invite was merely something of a customary thing rather than a necessity, and hana was never one to continue inviting someone if they didn’t seem eager or interested at her suggestions. “its nothing too dangerous, i can promise you that.” she murmured at the woman with what seemed like a sly, playful grin. “but at the very least, i can promise that its much better than letting others have the perfect excuse to touch you when they shouldn’t.” her sharp gaze fell towards the male behind the woman, cat-like smile and knowing eyes instantly making the hands that were creeping forth flash back as quick as they had come, a light shrug loosening up her shoulders. “but--the choice is still yours.”

『 Familiar Faces. 』
† A Trophy Father’s Trophy Son — @reryuhana
Mind hazy as he trudged through the quiet streets. Shoulders slumped forward, the weight of the world seemingly resting atop his head. Memories of his time on earth swirled through his mind, a turbulence of disappointments crashing against the curves of his skull. Letting out an exasperated sigh, the troubled male continued his path on the lonesome sidewalk.
Usually never one to leave the comfort of the same four walls he called home, he found the familiar four corners to be a little lonesome today. A walk might do some good, get some air, see the sky from the other side of the window. However, plans didn’t go quite as Yongjin had hoped they would. Seeing the clouds breeze by gently along the violet hued sky brought a stir of emotions to the forefront.
Although he heavily repents for it, his family is something he still misses dearly. If circumstances had been different, he wouldn’t have raised his children with such a heavy heart. Not a day passes where he wishes he could have a second chance to mend any wrinkles in their relationships.
Completely enveloped in his own misery, Yongjin completely missed seeing the other individual walking on the same sidewalk as him. Stumbling into them, he was pulled from his thoughts and immediately put his hands up in worry and surrender. “P-please forgive me,” he stumbled, eyes looking the person up and down to make sure they were okay, “I wasn’t paying attention, are you alright?” Eyes landing on their face, his breath hitched in his throat. Eyes enlarged, lips parting and beginning to tremble.
He could never forget a face, and he was positively certain that the face before him was that of his own daughter.
why was this becoming a habitual thing? hana couldn’t help but wonder morosely as for the second time in a while, she’s stopped because of her face. she glanced a little worriedly at the male before her, pulling a genial smile onto the contours of her delicate tiers as she watched the male gape like a fish in front of her with a troubled purse of her lips. now--this was something she didn’t know. did her face really have that much power to make someone effectively speechless? she squints for a moment, trying to gather the right thoughts with a hum upon her lips. “i’m alright. but you don’t seem to be.” she muttered slightly, blinking innocently in the male’s direction. “is there..something on my face?”
resignation now gave way slightly to annoyance as he gaped like an open mouth fish at her face. hana knew she was pretty--but never that astoundingly pretty. a sigh parted her delicate tiers, hand running through her hair as her brows knitted together perfectly in a confused notch. “do i...” she took a deep breath, tentative as she wondered about what exactly was it about her that had people perceiving her looks to be that of their lost kin frequently these days. “do i..look like someone you know?” the guess was far fetched just as it was tentative, and hana blinked for a moment, and then swallowed.
“and its perfectly alright.” her voice softened even further than she thought it could ever be, gentle like strings as she hesitantly reached out towards the male, her teeth worrying tentatively her plump bottom lip. “i have a widely recognised face, it seems.” soft laughter bubbled from her lips in an attempt of a light hearted joke, a little sheepish as the joke fell a little short. “but its alright.” she pauses for a moment, awkwardly shifting from one foot to the other, lips pursing a little as a wave of a headache from drinking too much the previous day assaulted her senses. “you’re--you’re forgiven?” the words ended lightly in a question mark as she acceded to his request to be forgiven, confusion sliding onto her features as to why she had to forgive him, when it had been nothing but just an honest little mistake.
“sorry. i don’t get this, but why are you apologising when its completely accidental in the first place? its not as though--you deliberately knocking into me, isn’t it?”

reheejin:
‘dance with me!’ she dons the female not much of a greeting, other than the bright smile that flatters her lips. doesn’t wait for her answer much longer, either. instead she simply grasps azalea’s hand and pulls her closer. spins herself into a pirouette with zero regards to the male she had just been trying to hit up, almost knocking him out of the way when she spirals back to her friend. ‘i’m so happy to find you here! come, come! let’s go dance!’
almost instinctively--hana regrets sorely for ever approaching june. its not as if she’s unfamiliar with how the younger girl practically works by bubbling over with intense amounts of energy. it was just that a couple of days apart and the lull in her existence on the server had made hana lazy enough to completely forget at times the terrible amount of exuberance her taller friend had. “careful! i have a drink in my hand--”she grumbles, an overly loud tone reducing to one that was barely a mumble of disgruntledness as she noticed how completely june disregarded her words in favour of a pirouette.
“i’m still amazed how you don’t get fucking dizzy from that.” hana crossed her arms, bouncing lightly to the beat as her dark eyes lingered upon june’s bright form, dazzling like the sun amongst all the drunken bodies mashed against each other with her efferverscence and delightful personality. “somehow, i don’t think you care whether or not that feeling is mutual.” she yelps as her drink smashes onto the floor, trampled beneath boots as june yanks her forward once more.
“oh my fucking god june.” the drink spills down her hand as she looks mournfully at the small catastrophe that was the remnant of her drink that she loved. “my fucking drink. you broke it.” she shivers at the sight of the glowering look that the bartender shoots her, immediately tossing her hair and throwing herself into a complete impression of someone drunk and completely out of their minds as soon as she felt their eyes upon her body. “you dug a fucking hole for me to bury myself in.” she sidled close enough to jun, words hissing from her lips as she grinded against an unknown male whose hands had sneakily snuck up to her hips.
“i wasn’t supposed to break the glass! now what am i gonna do?” she half glares at her taller friend, unable to stay rather furious with jun when it had been her own fault in the first place that the glass itself had left it designated spot upon the bartender’s table.

reknm:
unfamiliar familiarity
the thought disappears as soon as he has it. a quick glimpse of her features, that’s all namu got. but it was enough to make his heart drop to the pits of his stomach. it can’t be. she died years ago. and still the way the girl’s hair bounces of her shoulders while she makes her way down the straight is too familiar. what if it is her? namu can’t just let her walk away like that, almost trips over his own feet when he starts to chase after her.
“hyojin…” he grabs the girl’s hand and gently tugs. drops it again almost as soon as she turns around. he takes a step back. can’t help but let the disappointment wash over his features even if it was just for a quick second. “i’m sorry. i thought you were someone else.”
@reryuhana
the day is a regularity amongst all the other irregularities of her situations--hana thinks, emptying a packet of powdered vitamins into her mouth as she strolls leisurely down the sidewalk, crumpling the wrapper between her slender fingers and taking a gulp of water with a faint sigh upon her lips. the wrapper itself finds its way with a leisurely toss to the bin nearby, her eyes squinting for a moment as she pauses in her tracks, wondering for a second why her feet had carried her--rather disastrously within the university in the afterlife.
it wasn’t as if she had anything to do with it.
she failed university within the first year of applying for it. not that she was dumb of course. it was just--a matter of an irregularity. more that she wasn’t used to things being all fast paced and hectic. and normal. did she mention about it being normal? ryu hana was everything that a lot of women wanted to be, but yet--normal was something that she couldn’t be. oh the irony. she thinks as she pops a candy into her mouth, the tasteful sweet crunching beneath her teeth as she spins upon her heels quickly, thinking it for the best that she got out of the university gates as quickly as possible.
there were still some students that recognised her after her dismal and spectacular failing of her exams in the exams hall--who could not remember the terrible breakdown that had her ripping her papers and running out of the hall in utter panic? she felt her cheeks warm at that awful thought, her head ducking as she picked up the pace, sighing as she brushed back her dark, slightly wavy hair away from her face. the wind ruffles through the silken dark tendrils of her hair, the ends lightly bouncing as the waist long hair brushed lightly against the planes of her pale shoulders.
now, what should she decide for dinner this time--
her thoughts are stopped short by an abrupt jerk against her wrist, her eyes blowing wide in parted shock as she whirls around to face a stranger’s face, brows immediately furrowed in confusion as she drinks in his confused, perplexed and yearning face for a tender moment, and realization slowly dawns upon her.
he had thought she was someone else. a faint twitch of her lips drew the corners of her lips slightly upwards in amusement at the thought, though pity came surging forth next at the broken disappointment that washed visibly over his features. “i’m not hyojin.” her words are uncharacteristically gentle, an unusual development for someone as usually hard hearted as her. “but i probably do have a plain face.” a low chuckled fell from her lips as she attempted to twist her words slightly to make him feel a little better for mistaking her for his friend or kin. “that’s why you mistook me for someone else.”
the pause between them is awkward.
he’s processing her words--that much she feels as her eyes rove over his features a little wistfully. once upon a time, she had someone that yearned for her in such a way that this male currently did for whoever that he missed. or at least, that was what she thought, before the cruel reality burst that bubble of a first love and fed her its cruel remains.
“i’m hana.” she offered her name in penance for breaking his dreams. “ryu hana. or you can call me azalea.” she hoped a twitch of a nice smile crossed her lips as she attempted to smile at him. “but i do prefer hana.”

open
drinking--was the greatest fucking point in life, hana thought as she took a swig of the whisky she had in hand, the bottom of the glass clanging sharply onto the bar’s table as she cracked open her eyes, savouring the taste of momentary peace before everything else around her went to waste. the bar itself was a plateau of sin in the greatest degree, hana felt her brows raise at the sight of a couple pressed against the bar’s counter, smearing lipstick as their lips slid against each other’s in a fierce battle of wills as hana scoffed into her drink, a low smile playing upon her parted tiers as the ice tinkles lightly against her very teeth, the chime a small dissonance to the loud but pounding music in her eardrums as the beat in the club grew louder and louder, rattling her teeth and drumming its life beat into her mind.
“jesus fucking christ.” she swore under her breath, eyes sliding shut as her lips glided along the smooth surface of the glass, the pound of the music making her head throb with an impending headache as she finally got up from her seat, weaving through the crowds with her glass in hand.
“hey! lady! the glass can’t be taken from the bar!” she dismisses the call from the young but frantic bartender with a lazy wave of her hand, a smirk dancing upon her lips as she drifted into the crowd, body lightly bouncing to the beat as the music drummed in her ears. the whisky sloshed in the glass, her long lashed eyes flickering as she zeroed in on a new target for the new night, ignoring the man that she had slept with just the night before with a lazy smirk and a wink as he tried to attract her attention.
never linger for too long. that was the motto that hana lived by day by day in the bars, in clubs and whilst mingling around people. ryu hana, or azalea as they knew her, was nothing but a whirlwind path of destruction that took everything and razed it to the ground, leaving an imprint of an unforgettable night or the whisper from her ruby lips as she whirled away into the embrace of the night.
“morning.” she drawled lazily, red lips parted into a cloying smile. technically--it was morning, considering that the clock had just struck twelve. “having a great night?”

hello hello everyone! i’m excited as hell to be here and to be bringing to you ryu hana the resident wolf skeleton and self destructive as hell! i don’t have a plots page at the moment because i kinda came up with her pretty late jkdjfkdj but i’ll be working on some plots and a plot page for her soon! below the cut is her td;lr, and her profile & bio are both up and working! you can find me mostly on discord (jabberwocky#7606) since i’m the most active in plotting there, or ims would work as well (though i’m definitely much slower there). please like this if you’d like to plot, and i’ll slip into your dms!
Trigger Warning: Abandonment, Childhood Sexual Abuse, Gangs, Drugs, Prostitution, Illegal Child Labour, Death
profile & bio
abandoned as a child hana was pretty much mistreated in her youth by the children around her and the orphanage because she was just quiet and unruly unlike others.
she never could communicate or understand the other children, and that set her apart from people way too much for other children to be as forebearing as to understand her.
she remained nameless until five years of age, before she was given the name ryu hana because they couldn’t have a child without a name in the orphanage
the matron literally called her hana because she was the only child that was five years old then, and ryu was just a last name they decided to give for everyone that was born in her year
she was sold to a couple who lost their daughter and was seeking to find a replacement when she was 12
didn’t enjoy living with them at all, and worse--the couple abused her physically and sexually. she bore with them for a month, then grabbed all their money they had in their wallets and drawers and things she could pawn and ran away.
lived on the streets for 2 long years, stealing food, stealing clothes, until she got caught by a gang.
they had an eye on her beauty and because she looked older than she was having matured a little early, she was set into prostitution to pay for “stealing their clothes” and to payback what she owed them
she eventually convinced herself that this was a life she wanted, drinking, partying, sleeping around, being toys for men and enjoying the benefits of their patronising etc.
partly because there was no other way she could not accept it. if she didn’t accept that idea of herself, she would rather die, and because she wanted to live, she convinced herself that she wanted this--selling out her body and taking risks.
she was 16 when she got introduced to drugs through weed.
got addicted to it, smoked a hell load of it, and found that it took her mind off a lot of things and that’s why she LOVED it.
she fell in love when she was 18, her first love was a man a couple of years older than her, and she really thought they were in love--until she saw him kissing another (possible plot connection, can be brainstormed/ discussed!)
she slammed the door in his face and went haywire completely, and that’s when she started her risk taking and going to the extreme
she lived well until she was 75 for someone who was constantly drugging and spoiling her body, and made a name for herself as the most beautiful and best prostitute around. had a lot of men that desired and wanted her, even as she grew older for her eloquence, her intellect and her understanding of things.
hana isn’t someone shallow, she’s someone who’s had to accept her life as something that she desired for herself, because anything other than that is too debilitating for her to accept.
life in the servers isn’t that much better for her--because she relapsed into her old ways.
she can be seen as promiscuous, sexual, definitely risk taking and wild--but why is she wasting her second life away like that
she no longer takes drugs
hana TRIED when she first came onto the servers, to be a normal person, she registered for a university, and was overwhelmed by everything because she didn’t know how to be normal
and so she relapsed into being that human being that she was before death
beneath that wild exterior hana is just someone that’s highly in denial, someone who’s never know actual love and affection, and highkey terrified of being normal and terrified of the world itself.
she hardly cries, but there are moments where she fractures and breaks (though she tries not to let it show), and she tries to guard her heart well (though that first love occasionally still lingers on her mind)
people know her as azalea, because that’s her username, but if they ask, she’d tell them that she’s ryu hana, hana for short.
