Nano Come to life
Report by Guillermo Ongay
The first book I chose was Nano Come to Life by Sonia Conteras. The reason was simple: I had limited knowledge of the subject and a science fiction vision about microrobots that could exist in the future.
The professor of this book is Sonia Conteras, currently at Oxford University who specialises in biology and physics and is head of the physics department. She explains how nanotechnology works and how it could be applied in real life.
Nano means small technology on a nanoscale that is the dimension of life. These applications are more the interaction with molecules using the help of computers that can manage very complex physical concepts that are still very difficult to understand.
That helps to produce or creative proteins with anatomic precision that do not exist in nature but can exist. This help to create vaccines or make human much better.
Sonia explained the importance of a multi-disciplinary science where a lot of concepts such as physics, mathematics, biology, chemicals, and more will become more relevant in the future as well as how the computers will help to develop very complex concepts of science.
I am fascinated by the excellent use of computational power or algorithms that help our scientists develop new biological technology that improves human life as well as discover very difficult concepts that are incomprehensible for a human mind.
