You don't need to prove to anyone that you're a system. Whether your diagnosed or not. And if you are in fact diagnosed, an online stranger asking you for proof of your diagnosis is blatantly disrespectful.
Diagnoses are something private that no one needs to see or know of, it's up to you if you want to share it, just remember that you aren't obligated to.

Alter pregnancy exists. We had that happen multiple times. It's just a long term split.
Littles cannot consent. However, we had littles exploring their sexuality with other littles in-sys. Littles who are sexual exist. Plus the definition of little varies from system to system.
Transfem alters can exist in AFAB systems and transmasc alters can exist in AMAB systems.
Alter race isn't a thing. However, alters can appear of a different ethnicity, still they cannot reclaim slurs.
Systems who don't remember their trauma must stop identifying as endogenic. That is called being traumagenic.

Fronting only to notice the body you're in is much bigger/taller than you perceive yourself in headspace.
Not wanting to be treated as a literal child while wanting to live the childhood the body never got the chance to live.
Having specific fixations on topics/foods/songs etc.
Missing parents you never had so you look for parental figures in adult alters.
Living stuck at an age of a traumatic event but wanting to just be happy.
Keep in mind this post was made by a little (yes we let some of our littles online if you're a creep just leave.)

A system having a high headcount doesn't mean they went through more trauma than a system with a low headcount.
Anyway... Trauma is trauma, NOT A COMPETITION.
Dear systems with a low headcount: you're just as valid as system with 1k+ alters.
Splitting is a coping mechanism of the brain and it's extremely subjective.
If a group of children goes through the same traumatic experience in the same circumstances, not every child will develop a dissociative disorder, and those who will, will not have the same headcount. Some may have 3 alters, some thousands.

Some fictives have source memories, some don't.
Some fictives have source trauma, some don't.
Fictives aren't their source.
Fictives aren't your comfort characters.
You don't know a fictive solely because you know their source.
Some fictives love their source, some hate it.
Fictives are valid even if they have a problematic source.
Fictives are real even if you don't believe it.

"You're actually bipolar/schizophrenic."
Thank you non-professional for your non-professional opinion on our professional diagnosis.
"You have a brilliant imagination."
It's not "imagination" if alters are actually there.
"That's not how DID works."
We never claimed to have DID in the first place. Also, every system works differently, this field is so underresearched, you don't know what can and can't happen.
"Alters do not talk to you in your head."
Yeah, they do actually.
"Can I meet *fictive*?"
Fictives aren't your comfort characters thank you very much.

We will not go in denial for some idiots who fakeclaim us.
We don't owe anybody proof of our diagnosis.
We will not split fictives one episode into a TV show.
We are survivors, not victims.
We will recover the way we feel it's best for us, it doesn't matter if it's final fusion or functional multiplicity.

Calling their name
If you're not in a system-friendly situation try calling them by their name in your head. If you are alone or in a system-friendly situation try calling them out loud.
Safe/positive triggers
For us, music works so well, but it could be anything: a favorite food, clothes that they feel comfortable in, perfume, etc.
Talk about them
It happens quite a lot to us that alter x is telling a story about alter y would front to tell it themselves. This is just an example, obviously.

We were self diagnosed before getting the diagnosis
Um.. ok... I'm sorry we did research and acknowledged what was wrong with us? It's not like a psychiatrist would diagnose something they don't think we have for the sole reason that we told them we thought we had it...
We all draw in a very similar style
Not all systems have different drawing styles... The same goes for handwritings.
We don't have DID, but a differential diagnosis (UDD)
I'm sorry to inform you that DID isn't the only disorder that can cause the presence of alters. That must be a hard pill to swallow.
We have transfem alters in an AFAB body
We did a post on this. Oh no! Alters having their own identity and perception of themselves! Almost as if that's the whole point of an alter existing...
We talk to ourselves in our head
Apparently that's crazy! We all share a single brain, how do you expect us to communicate??
We use the chat feature on simply plural
My bad for wanting to keep track of our conversations, especially important ones?

Why would a child split fictives?
When growing up in a stressful or abusive environment, it is normal to find comfort in fiction. If a child develops a dissociative disorder, they might split comfort characters to help themselves feel safer.
Then why teens and adults also split fictives?
Growing up to be a teen or an adult with a dissociative disorder who has learnt splitting as a coping mechanism, they still might continue splitting fictives when in stressful or traumatic situations.
Why splitting fictives instead of brainmade alters?
Splitting fictives often (although not always) means to split an alter that gives the system a form of comfort or feeling of safety. Some systems have just a few fictives or even no fictives at all. That doesn't mean fictive heavy systems aren't valid. Furthermore, the system doesn't decide who to split. It just happens.

Why do I identify as a trans woman?
I was split as male. I have masculine features in the innerworld, such as having a deep voice, being taller than most women in our system, etc. We can't figure out yet how to transition in the innerworld. I also have a deadname, the name I got when I was split. I changed my name, I now go by she/her pronouns, I let my hair grow, I wear make-up, I wear dresses, all of these things help me feel more feminine.
How does internalised transphobia affect our trans alters?
Growing up with a transphobic parent and living in a transphobic environment, has made us internalise transphobic beliefs. This happens to everyone, but we found that in systems it's common for certain alters who are usually persecutors to hold those beliefs, while the rest of us is trans-friendly. I used to be one of those persecutors, until I figured out I am trans. I came out to those around me and they didn't esitate to say the most transphobic shit to me.
What are some examples of internal transphobia?
I think I've heard them all. (Tw for transphobic comments) “You'll never be a woman”, “When I look at you I see a dude so I won't call you a girl”, “I wouldn't touch you even with someone else's d!ck” and the list goes on and on.
Will I ever speak on bodily trans women?
The short answer is: no. I'm not claiming to know what it's like to grow up bodily transfem in a transphobic world, I will never know, so I never will speak over bodily trans women specifically on trans women's issues. All I'm saying is I experienced manhood and it wasn't for me. I am who I am and I'm not hurting anybody by identifying in a certain way.

What's an innerworld?
Innerworld or headspace is figuratively the place where alters go when they aren't fronting. The word innerworld speaks for itself: a world inside ourselves.
Does every system have an innerworld?
No, not every system has one. Some systems may just communicate directly, speaking to one another.
How does an innerworld look like?
Every innerworld is unique and can vary in size and complexity. Some systems may have a big house, some a city, some a whole world or even a universe. Every kind of innerworld is valid as there's no “right” way to have an innerworld.
Is having an innerworld always a good thing?
While it can be an amazing part of being plural, having an innerworld can sometimes cause trouble or even trauma, as it can mimic the outside world and all kinds of things can happen.

What is UDD?
UDD stands for Unspecified Dissociative Disorder. It's a diagnosis that's given to those who have symptoms of various dissociative disorders but don't fit the criteria of a specific one. In the diagnostic report usually the psychiatrist will write down which specific symptoms the patient experiences.
What symptoms includes our UDD diagnosis?
DPDR (Depersonalisation and Derealization)
Dissociative amnesia for traumatic events
Dissociated parts (alters)
Is UDD the same for everyone?
Not in the slightest. While even people with DID/OSDD experience things differently even though they have the same diagnosis, for people with UDD it can be even more different from person to person, as UDD doesn't have set symptoms but is rather a differential diagnosis that puts together a combination of symptoms, which makes it even less likely for people with a UDD diagnosis to experience the same symptoms.
Does UDD always include alters?
No, it's not always the case. As I stated before, UDD covers a variety of symptoms of dissociative disorders and so having UDD doesn't necessarily mean having alters.
If you have any questions, you're welcome to leave a comment. Just be nice and respectful.
