hi new folks in fandom, let me introduce you to SERQUEL, the real shipname of Sérgio and Raquel, from La Casa de Papel

I've been in fandom for almost an year and a half now, and in the beginning we didn’t have a proper name for them. It took us some time to come up with an shipname naturally, and SERQUEL was the most catchy one. We've grown accustomed to it and even itziar ituño, who plays Raquel, is aware of it. So, lately i've seen a lot of people here and on AO3 calling our favorite couple Marquillo and, don’t get me wrong, it’s quite lovely! But it can make things quite confusing, specially for new folks. So, lets all make a deal to call them by only one thing, the true original name, Serquel? Gracias ♥️

Nightmares

Raquel is having a nightmare. Sergio is there for her. (my first time writing fanfic so it’s probably a little occ and cringy) Enjoy!

‘’No….’’ Sergio slowly opened his eyes, and tried to discern from where the cry which awoke him from his slumber came from. ‘’Please… I’m sorry, I’m sorry… ‘’ He moved his blanket away from his face, and his foggy mind soon realized it came from none other than his gorgeous wife.

He watched her for a while, still not believing how such a stunning woman had ever accepted to go with him.

Her beautiful hair was messily laid out on the pillow, surrounding her naked shoulders. She was almost entirely naked actually, which made him smile as he recalled he was the reason for it. She could have had anyone she wanted, but despite everything, she chose him, and he still could not believe his luck.

‘’Stop… please!’’ His heart ached as he heard her cry again and saw her peaceful face grimacing in pain. He felt selfish having wasted precious time just to look at her while she was in pain.

‘’Raquel, Raquel wake up…’’ he murmured sleepily to her ear, and hesitantly touched her hand.

‘’No…. no please….’’ he saw that she tried to back away from the touch but could not, as if held into place by a invisible opponent. Sergio immediately retrieved his hand.

It wasn’t the first time Raquel had had trouble having a peaceful sleep, and Sergio would always try to calm her down or at least wake her up.

‘’I didn’t… I swear I… please!’’ The woman voice cracked at the last word and she broke into restless sobs. Sergio felt his eyes tear up too seing her in such a state. He hated it, watching her suffer and not being able to do anything about it.

‘’Raquel, Raquel dear wake up… I love you, I love you, please wake up…’’ He slowly caressed her hair, trying his best to save her from whatever demons were torturing her mind. A few tears flowed from Raquel’s closed eyes.

Not being able to take it anymore, Sergio turned on the lights, hoping it would startle Raquel enough to wake her. The strong white glow made his eyes ache. ‘’Raquel… Raquel it’s me, Sergio, wake up…’’ She did not seem to react. He moved closer to her, and after a few more desperate pleas, he saw her eyes wet slowly opening up, letting a few more tears roll away.

‘’Sergio?’’ Her voice sounded hurt, lost, as if she were an abandoned child. He hugged her closely with one hand, still caressing her long hair with the other.

‘’Shh… it’s over, it’s over, it was just a bad dream…’’

Raquel didn’t seem convinced, and it took all of his self control for Sergio not to pull her in a bone crushing hug and kiss her until he saw a smile return to her face.

Sometimes he would wonder how this woman alone could have such a powerful effect on him. For her, he had not hesitated to risk it all: his meticulously prepared plans, his identity as The Professor.

He had never been one for social interactions, Andres was the one who used to take care of that, but with her it was different. He felt at ease, he wanted to speak to her, to listen to her talk, to help her, to love her.

‘’Alberto… Is he here? Sergio how did he get here? Paula, I need to get Paula away from him, I…’’ He could barely keep it together anymore. Seing her faced invaded by worries and fear made him want nothing more than to make her ex-husband suffer for the hell he put her through.

‘’Hey, hey my dear, calm down, please.’’ He breathed, ‘’You have nothing to worry about. We’re in Palawan, and this asshole is rotting in Madrid alright? He can’t hurt you anymore. You’re safe here okay? I’m here for you. I’m your bodyguard with glasses remember? ’’ He saw her faintly smile through her tears, and at the moment nothing else mattered. He lightly touched her cheeks to dry some of her tears.

‘’Fuck, fuck I’m such a mess, I’m so sorry…’’ Sergio could not bear listening to her apologize any further, and especially not to him.

‘’It’s not your fault, not your fault you hear me? You have nothing to be sorry for.’’ He moved his head closer to hers.

‘’Fuck I… You… you won’t leave me will you Sergio?’’ A half sob escaped her throat. Raquel would later on want to slap herself for sounding so desperate, but right now she was not in her right mind, still haunted by the images of her night terror.

‘’Raquel’’ Sergio interrupted her with a determined voice, not being able to see her in such desperation, hating Alberto now more than ever for hurting her, and hating himself for not being able to help her more.

‘’Raquel I’ll never leave you. I love you , I love you so much I can’t understand it myself. You’re… you’re the best thing that has ever happened to me, you’re a beautiful, amazing, strong woman and nothing, you hear me, nothing you ever do will ever make me want to leave you. I love you, I love you so much…’’

He felt her tensed body curl up a bit more in his embrace, and so he didn’t stop hugging her and murmuring sweet words to her ears.

‘’Sergio… ’’ She finally said, and turned around to face him completely. She tugged her arm around him then dried her tears on her shirt.

‘’Thank you.’’ she said with a shy smile ‘’I love you so much’’.

Sergio felt those words going right to his heart. He gently leaned on and kissed her on the forehead. She smiled once again, and the moved her head back to encourage him to kiss her mouth. He did not hesitate, and soon they both lost themselves in the pleasure of their embrace, momentarily safe from all the pain of the world.

But can we take a second to talk about El Profesor’s reaction when he thought they had killed Raquel? Like, the way his body ricocheted as if he had been the one who got shot? The silent scream in his mouth and in his eyes while he looked at the sky? How he just went down as if he had no strength and no life left in him to carry on? Alvaro Morte was MAJESTIC, I swear he played the scene to make us feel like a part of Sergio had just been taken violently from him, and it fucking tore me apart.

what if the boy who lived was the girl who lived? scruffy tomboy harriet “call me Harry” potter, getting extra rubbish from the Dursleys both from being a girl and being the wrong kind of girl

and absolutely nothing in the entire 7-book series changes except for pronouns. because girls can be brave and imperfect and angry and sulky and loud just like boys can.

(except a girl harry would room with Hermione Granger and the Patil twins instead of Ron and Sean, but that’s literally the only thing I can think of that might change)

Before I say anything, I want to let you know that your opinion is not invalid and I respect it. But I have my own opinion too and I want to share it too if that’s okay. I love Regina Mills more than I can explain. She is so strong and resilient and getting to know her and her journey as been one of the best things ever. I think many people forget how much she went through, why people manipulated her. (hello Rumple, Im looking at you.. you twisted little imp.) Sadly, I think the idea of a 3rd love interest for Regina seems really lame to me. It was said on the show a thousand times that OutlawQueen is soulmate... and even if you lose your soulmate and you find someone new, I find it hard to believe you’ll just as happy you would be with someone else as you would be with your soulmate. And Regina deserves that great and epic love, she deserves to be loved as a woman and not just a friend or as a mother. About Regina’s infertility... I understand how can some people get comfort from her accepting it. But it’s clear Regina WANTED a child, and it was clear she regretted taking that potion in the minute she drank it. She wasn’t born infertilte, she did it to herself, not because she didn’t want to have a child, but to spite Cora. I struggle with infertilite too, I struggle to accept it, specially because I know many people who fought agaisnt it (some fought hard for +2 years) and won, and they were able to conceive a child. So I struggle with it, and in my case, Regina overcoming it would give ME hope that I can overcome it. Make no mistake, I do NOT want Regina to overcome it just so she can go and have a child with Robin. No, that’s not it. I want that just so people (hello Zelena) can stop throwing disgusting comments at her, I want to be able to have hope myself. I also I doubt seeing her sister having a child with her soulmate while she couldn’t give him one was easy for her. And im NOT saying all Swens are like this (I doubt they’re all like this) but Ive seen many people saying like “how excited are you to see Lana kissing a woman in OUAT?” and this honestly kinda hurts me. In my opinion, clearly some people don’t care at ALL about good LGBT rep, they just want to see Lana making out with a girl. Also, there’s no way to know, even if Roni is gay, that A&E would give her a GOOD romantic story with a woman. They could try pairing her with a woman and it could not be good, too rushed, not really explored, etc. About DarkOQ - I hate that Regina still ended up without Robin, but I like that the Evil Queen playing the role of Marian on Robin of Locksley - she changed him into a better man. That’s all. Like I said, I respect and understand all opinions, but this is MY personal opinion about it.

I Am So Over Canon OQ and OQ Shippers (A Rant)

**DISCLAIMER: I will be speaking about OQ in general terms but please note that I do not mean “ALL” Outlaw Queen shippers. If this post does not apply to you, take no offense to it. If you feel offended by it, my mama always told me “a hit dog will holler” and “if the shoe fits…”**

So, I’m in an anxiety ridden mood and I’ve been passive aggressively sitting on my thoughts/feelings about this issue for a while and I’m at a point now where I just HAVE to say something:

Outlaw Queen shippers don’t give two flying fucks about Regina.

We have become almost as bad as Captain Swan shippers with our obsession over Robin/Sean. Lana has become our pretty prop, much like JMo did in the end for CS.

Robin has been dead for nearly two seasons and we’re still trying to get him back, refusing to watch because he’s gone…as if Outlaw Queen was solely about Robin.

I get being mad about how the writers screwed us over. Hell, I’m the same girl who was/is/will probably forever be bitter about Mark Sloan being killed off in Season 9 of Grey’s Anatomy, which is now in its 14th season. I was a SUPER hard Addison/Sam shipper on Private Practice. I felt like Shonda screwed Addison and Sam over . When Jake came into the picture, I didn’t like him but y'know what happened? I realized that Jake made Addison happy and being an Addison fan, I was all for her finding happiness even if it wasn’t with who I wanted.

When the new characters were announced, 3 of which were WOC, I saw a LOT of Outlaw Queen shippers bitching in Adam’s twitter mentions about how “we don’t care about these new people because it’s not Robin/Sean”

I’m sorry but no, matter of fact HELL NO.

It’s upsetting to me that OQ shippers don’t wanna see Regina happy because she’s not with Robin.

If you think Regina’s happiness can only be found in Robin then a) you don’t respect Regina’s autonomy, and b) you CLEARLY missed what Regina stated her happiness to be in 4x20:

“My ending isn’t with Robin. My happy ending is finally feeling at home in the world…Robin is just part of that world,” And he was part of that world and unfortunately, that world was turned upside down and Robin is sadly no longer part of it.

Just because Robin died doesn’t mean Regina’s whole world stops.

If you claim to love Outlaw Queen, you would know and respect that Robin would want Regina to be happy, and he wouldn’t want her doing that alone. In fact, I’m pretty sure Robin would say something very similar to Daniel, “Love Again”

I won’t even begin to touch on the grossness that was/is reversing Regina’s infertility curse/wishing that baby Peanut was dead while actively harassing people who learned to love baby Peanut, being mad about the Marian/Zelena thing because it stood in the way of an OQ baby.

I am sad about the way OQ played out on screen, but I didn’t start watching this show solely for Robin/Sean, I was here for Regina first and foremost and if you claim to love Regina like you say, her happiness shouldn’t be determined on whether or not she ends up with Robin.

I would address how it makes me feel as a WOC OQ fan to see y'all defending, protecting, and demanding Sean come back to the show but from what I’ve seen, dead ass silent about the way that Regina/Roni could and has been seen as a stereotypical Latina caricature by many WOC, some of whom are OQ fans. In fact, some of y'all LOVE that shit where Regina is all curly haired and wearing jeans and whatnot; you’re probably working on fics where Roni is sassy and probably has an accent and she meets Robin the bar…

How many of you have actually bothered to read through posts about the concerns from POC fans in terms of the treatment of the new WOC? How many of we’re upset that someone literally erased Gabrielle Anwar and replaced her with JMo for a manip? The bigger question is do y'all care that we’re getting 3 new WOC?

My guess would be no, since a lot of y'all dismissed them while you were begging for Robin/Sean to come back…

It’s gross and bordering on racist; it’s privileged at the very least. So that being said, I’m done actively shipping OQ in canon, because my fellow/former shipmates don’t give a damn about Regina. She’s just a pretty prop so that y'all can write cute domestic fanfics where Robin has his beautiful wife and they have their beautiful little naturally convinced princess…possibly with Henry and Roland (who is more than likely Regina’s bio son) as supporting/background characters.

Oh, and sex, lots and lots of sex…
