    "Luna had decorated her bedroom ceiling with five beautifully painted faces: Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, and Neville. * [ I’ve attempted to keep this brief, as I know it as a concept that may lose the most potent of meaning should it stretch too long, yet I’ve simply encountered so many incredibly individuals on this site it was a truly trying task. update: still agonizing over house sorting puck

i can see a lot of slytherin in them... but i also don't think it's very slytherin to go out of your way to help people you don't know, which puck will do sometimes?? but if they were slytherin, they would definitely be the kind of slytherin that realizes there's a lot more freedom in being #2.

the problem is just that they're so damn inconsistent, so it's hard to satisfactorily put them in one place, you feel me???

Bemusement flickered across their face for a quick second. My, my was she jumping to conclusions. With the pronounced boom in the human population since the days of old, the fairies could not claim to own the forests anymore. They have had to share them with any mortals that wandered in, although most of the fae preferred to remain hidden, and they were not about to punish creatures for roaming the earth they lived on. "I will be fine."

In all honesty, nothing actually happens to you if you step inside a fairy circle –– it's just respectful not to, like refraining from sitting on a headstone. But in another honesty, Puck was not that honest, and their face became grave. "But you –– I'm sure you've heard tales of what happens to those who dare step into a fairy circle," they said solemnly, playing a part, "But I've seen it."

               ”And if I step into the fairy circle I will be punished badly and so will you because a human girl is here and you haven’t made her leave yet?” Juliet didn’t know if she was even close to the truth but she knew that there had to be something bad about how long she had stayed hidden in the forest and had been talking with Puck.

The feeling's mutual, little shop of wonders. Puck runs their hands over every available surface as if they're giving the building little affectionate pets, and momentarily turns their back to the shopkeeper.

"I've heard that secrets aren't any fun unless you share with everyone," they answer slyly just as their index finger comes to rest on the spine of Jinxes in a Blink. Puck spins back around on their toe, their smile still very much in tact. Now came one of their favorite games: Who are you?

"A champion of the night, a shrewd servant –– and a lover of secrets."

"A book open to a page of puzzles," she says, half to herself. She’s reasonably sure that book used to be near the window, under a jar of silver pennies. “Are you being helpful now?” she asks the room, suppressing a smile. The Shop seems to like the visitor; she can feel its flutter of amusement from all around.

She tilts her head a little. “Would they still be secrets, then?” she asks. “And to whom would I be giving them?” Who will do for a start, though what would be nice, too. That’s…quite a grin.
