i forgot how much adrian and sydney feel annoyed at each other. and they won’t consider themselves friends until next book.

modern enemies to lovers should take a page from sydrian. stop making the enemies get together by the end of the first book! give me slow burn that last multiple books! show me why despite their differences they work! show me they seeking out the other’s company despite knowing they are not supposed to! show me them becoming friends! show me the denial, the frustration and yearning!!

isn't it interesting how mundane blood-drinking is in the va/bl universe? to the moroi, it's as normal as eating lunch and just kind of, like, nice. like it seems like it's more pleasurable for the bitten rather than the biter. to the people bitten it's like a brain orgasm on drugs, but to the moroi, they're just eating. there's like, a little more of a rush, it's like this feeling that you're energized and strong, right?

but that's soooo interesting. you NEVER see that. it's always the biter is having more (usually way more) fun than the bitten.

sydrian is such a good ship it sometimes reads like fanfiction. adrian cleans sydney's wound (knowing that healing it would freak her out*), encourages her, holds her face in his hands and calls her pretty, and only lets go when she changes the subject to him - and then she feels "oddly vulnerable without him near." like. i'm overwhelmed. it's too good.
