Its been decided there is just too much stuff going on, with my dr appointments, work, and now i made a group of friends etc, I have been very busy. It does not mean im done doing reviews. In Fact i just got a Wii U and im playing breath of the wild so there will be a review on that when im finished. But for weekly reviews it wont be till after summer somtime in september or the month of my birthday. You can feel free to unfollow if you want but i thank the true fans for staying. So in case your wondering things got a little better. I am now working, and working at a place that i actually spend alot of my cash at. Therefore its good for me and them. The Surge

Ok so tonight were talking about The Surge. Another dark souls genre game that came out not too long ago. And did it live up to its hype?....KIND OF. Playing through the game i did have fun, but i also noticed the differences from playing through my souls borne adventures to now suddenly becoming an overpowered cripple who can walk again and upgrades himself with the parts of fallen enemies. It for the most part was fun, however i dont think it lived up to the hype it promised alot of people.

So basically you are in a dystopian future setting, the earth is going to shit, all of humanity is succumbing to disease and jobs are being taken over by AI controlled robotics, meaning most of the jobs available to humans are met by wearing exo suits in order to keep up with the competing AI. You play as Warren a simple employee at CREO who gets a mech suit finally, he was disabled before hand but thanks to CREO tech he can now walk again. Except during the process something goes wrong and he wakes up to find out his company and coworkers have gone insane, all tech is hostile and the other employees thirst for blood. Its up to Warren to find out what the hell happened.

My experience playing this game wasnt too bad honestly, i got to play this at a friends house thankfully and i had fun for the most part. Sipped on flavored water as walked around getting surprised at certain corners. Though however being a seasoned Dark Souls veteran did help alot. Because you always are prepared for whats around corners down stairs you look UP. SOME THINGS did get me, and i did die, however not that much especially the further i got, in fact the most challenging aspect of the game were the boss fights because unlike the dark souls boss fights, and i know this game was made by the developers of Lords of the Fallen, I still was quickly able to adapt. Hell i remember running through Lords of the Fallen with a friend and beat it in less than an hour and a half. But yes the boss fights were different because modern day weapons such as missiles lasers and flamethrowers were used a plenty so you had to think on your feet alot. 

Pros and cons honestly i can say there were enough to see and enough to add good filler to the game. The thing that made the game awesome was the fact i can dismember enemies like in dead space, use the components i gain from them and create different weapons, exo armor etc. So the customization was fun to mess with especially later in the game you can look basically like a miniature Gundum wielding a giant ass axe. The cons however were sometimes at first i had problems with some of the combat, i decided as well to choose the bulky slower exo suit. But there were some glitches, sometimes my ps4 froze i dont know if it was my friends use of it or what have you but it did have its flaws, yet still was able to hold its own.

For the most part The surge soundtrack was a technofiles dream come true. There were plenty of beeps and sweeps in the game to make me feel like i really was a part human part robot on a mission to kick some serious ass. And it felt great. Then other parts it added tension to the songs that made you feel like you may have bitten off more than you could chew. I couldnt find a full playlist so heres one with bits and pieces of the soundtrack.

Well this joyful robotic adventure gets a 3.5/5 it was not a bad game by all means but i feel after playing dark souls my expectations are high for anyone else to try and make the genre good. So i still await the game that will make it any good whatsoever. Say bloodborne 2 which i know will be great or perhaps the new Anime Dark Souls Code: Vein. We will see.

Crazy Week

Ugh i hate writing these but it just happens, life is an unexpected enthralling dynamo of problems, improvements and sometimes good things. LUCKILY this is a good thing this time! I have been absent from writing reviews for this reason. I will be among the working class soon. As such i been really trying to fix a few things around the house, when i have time i am drawing again and writing the stories i started when i was 14 years old. I recently found out i can draw in the style of WAKFU art. So i have been practicing. Eventually ill have some pics up. But i apologize for being late with my reviews i should happily be able to write the review i planned to write about tomorrow. I apologize for the delay, these do happen. But I am also not use to sticking with something for this long. However i refuse to give up. I want to do this for a living someday so i have to learn to push myself. Thanks for the patience once again

Come monday after a very important day, with hopefully the best news ever. I will be reviewing The Surge. And i know your asking yourself, TODD how can you reviews games you have not played on the ps4 yet? The answers simple, i have friends that care, and let me barrow, and sometimes i watch them. Nintendo Direct July 2017

So a little while ago Nintendo released their next Direct, which got us in the loop for Splatoon 2. There was many surprises and a huge twist to the game. Some were simple like Flow and the hat shop, Jelfanzo running the clothing shop, to some power ups and weapon types, like chargers holding a shot, dodge rolling WHICH i will be using to the max, thinking of it like Gunz the Duel lol. And power ups like the Tenta missles, which i will be using as well (If you use the ink jet i feel it leaves you open too much). Its all great and leads up to some awesome stuff.....but below is what everyone is talking about.

Thats right our announcers have been replaced! They are still in the game it seems HOWEVER Pearl and Marina are taking the stage and you can guess which one has the most popularity. Marina. Everyone's new Waifu. I swear for a few days straight its been nothing but fan art and talk of her. Not to mention she seems to be the only Octline there, it would be cool if we could be octupus too but probably wont happen. Still lots of cool additions! Cant wait for the next nintendo direct. Perfect Darks review is canceled by the way. I decided not to fold up but give in to something. I will be reviewing new released games for awhile, when the influx stops for a small while ill add retro titles here and there. But prepare for new fun and awesome stuff.

New Update

Brothers: A tale of two sons

This adventure was definitely worth the play through. I was lucky enough to play this for free thanks to PlayStation. When I first played it, it was fun....towards the end....it already had you determined and ready to go on a huge journey but the end was so heart wrenching and it literally was the second game to make me cry. And i dont mean just tears i mean actually drop my controller and shed tears. I will leave this disclaimer here. If you have lost someone in your family that you loved. This game will tug at your heart SO much. But it is still worth a play through. To set the tone without spoiling the game, you are two brothers set out on a journey to recover medicine for your dying father. You have to get the medicine before its too late.

My play through was enjoyable and great through the whole thing! The puzzles were simple at some points but tricky and innovative at the next turn. You basically use 4 things, both your thumb sticks and both triggers. Thats all thats needed. You then have to traverse over huge valleys, face dangerous enemies and run to safety. The story was amazing and the atmosphere was always changing. From lush green farmlands to mountains, snowy peaks, abandoned castles and war zones with dead giants. It was amazing.

NO FLAWS gotta say the developers really poured their heart and souls into this game and its exactly how video games should be, good enough graphics, great game play, gripping story, and responsive controls. GOOD JOB.

The soundtrack was amazing, it had good vibes, during “boss” encounters the music was set to the right tones, every place you stepped in, the music reverberated excellence to each landscape. Wether it be the snowy mountain tops, or caves of trolls. 

The picture above is basically how you will look after playing its entire way. I mean it, if you dont at least get choked up you have no soul. This game sets in perfect tempo the music, the puzzles, the chases, the realization that you are not in control of everything. Including death, because it comes at any time, and it will rip the ones you love away from you without a moments notice.....5/5 Play the game, then get ready to cry. You must play it once. This is a game every family should own and pass down to their children. It teaches you the importance of how precious life really is. 

Well done.....well done.

Man I am just a ball of happiness lately arent I? Well folks i am not done with being a sad sack just yet! Because tomorrow bring your hankies. Were reviewing one of the SADDEST games i have ever had the pleasure of playing. SAD but GREAT. Brothers is tomorrow.

The Evil Within

Ahhh yes....back from a long hiatus, battling the mind about the future and what it holds. Seeing my new horizons. But one persons horizons id never want to witness. I am of course talking about Sebastian Castillanos. Just another routine day, going with his partners Joe- (Who Markiplier wittingly called Jo-Jo through the entirety of his play through) and Juli. This was the biggest mind enduring horror ride of my century. Now im sure there are some better scares out there, but I am one to not play too many horror games. I DO ENJOY THEM, but they are scarce on my list....kind of. Basically to throw you some plot without spoiling it as Evil Within 2 was just announced, you play sebastian, on a mission to find out what happened at Beacon mental hospital. A mass murder occurred. But who caused it? Go replay, or play for the first time, i refuse to spoil too many scares on this game. 

My play through played with my mind every step of the way. I personally suffer from PTSD and Depression, and this did trigger some of those. The fact Sebastian lost his family, me losing my mother, and jump scares causing me to not conserve ammo out of panic and watch my heart rate increase. All in all though. It was a frightening good time. The cinematics were stupendous. And the traps, when failed....grousome...Not to mention every nightmare you could think of coming to life....This game preyed on you having to really survive. Ammo was scarce and it was a Godsend every time i found a single bullet. Not only that, but the chase scenes, you know you wanted to look back....but if you did you were dead, This game really did play with your mind, psychologically, through terror and panic.

This game had a few flaws, such as disabling traps sometimes my controller wouldnt respond or Sebastian would stand up all the sudden and get blown to bits. Forcing me to load a save file, or i couldnt pick up items and i watched as my corpse was obliterated. Small things like that could of been fixed, but i understand this game had to be released due to the hype it received. And a lot of people had biased opinions of it. Though it had small errors here and there. Mine was positive for the most part. So positive it is one not THE REASON but one of the reasons I will be coming back to playstation someday.

The soundtrack.....calmn yet haunting....especially at certain points it loses its calm and reminds you that you are no longer in control of what happens. You have to give into fear and grip ahold of that base of instincts we all as the human race hold dear to us when SHIT hits the fan. Survival. The tension kicks in, you have to run faster but OH NO your tired, do you keep walking and regain your stamina, or do you turn and unleash your arsenal that you spent so much time saving for the next big enemy but you have no choice. You have to kill them now, or your dead yourself. This is the game, and how it pressures you in every situation, yet you have to find better ways. How do i save this ammo i worked hard to get...? Use your head, just dont get lost in it.

My Final verdict of this game.....4/5 maybe even 4 and 1/2. It really did grip whoever played it. I even remember playing this at a friends house. We ran through the whole thing. However it was met with screams, him leaving the room a few times with “I cant right now with this game my mind is playing games on me!” Etc. This is truly an enjoyable experience for those that enjoy madness, tricky puzzles, limited ammo pick ups and true survival. Pick this up if you haven't and get ready for the sequel which is coming out October 13th this year.

This will be a great birthday treat....and ill be sure to sleep with the lights on for a few days because of it.

So monday ill be back at it again with reviews, i lost ALL resolution and drive to do them for awhile do to some unforseen circumstances. Its not that i couldnt do the reviews. Its that my mind is possessed by unforseen emotions that rival that of our sun after finding out it isn't the only shining star in the universe! SO YEAH i needed to catch a break, again i hate flaking on my readers or anyone for that matter but keep in mind i am TRYING to get better mentally, physically etc I am doing an OVERHAUL on myself to be a better person. WITH THAT SAID, why not review a game that was a complete MINDFUCK from the beginning, Ill be reviewing the Evil Within come monday, also ill post some teasers i can find regarding The Evil Within 2....give you guys a treat for being on a hiatus for awhile.
