The Difference Between Delay and God's Process
We live in a generation that craves instant results without going through the necessary process. We often desire to arrive at our destination even before starting the journey. However, not everything that appears to be a delay is truly a delay.
Take Jesus Christ as an example: at the age of 12, He was already found in the temple, yet for the next eighteen years, the Bible remains silent about His activities. The next time we hear of Him, He is 30 years old, coming to the River Jordan to be baptized by John the Baptist. If Jesus could wait and go through God's process for thirty years in order to minister for just three and a half years, why shouldn't you wait? His ministry, which lasted only three and a half years, was preceded by thirty years of preparation. One undeniable truth in life is that you must be tested and proven before you are honored. No matter how much you pray or fast, you cannot bypass the law of process. You must be tested, and you must be proven before you can receive honor.
Often, we expect the loyalty of people, especially those in ministry, but loyalty is something that must be earned through testing and proof. Before you can be approved by a generation or become a representative of God to that generation, you must pass through the process. There are many people today who are gifted, anointed, and blessed, yet their generation has not recognized them because they have not been tested and proven. The law of process is often painful, but when you submit to it, your success becomes stable because there is a track record of growth. Be wary of any success that lacks a history of growth—it will not last. God's process requires approval from both God and man. It takes time to succeed, it takes time to manifest, and it takes time for the hearts of men to be opened toward you. Embrace the process, and in years to come, you will see the great results of your patience and perseverance.

Numbers 6:24-26
Numbers 6:24-26 is a well-known biblical blessing that is often used in liturgy and prayer. It reads:
"The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace."
This passage is part of the priestly blessing, which was given to the Israelites by the priests. It is a beautiful expression of God's grace and care for his people, and it conveys a message of hope, comfort, and peace.
The first line of the blessing asks for God's protection and care over the person being blessed. The second line asks for God's favor and grace to shine upon them. The third line asks for God's presence and peace to be with them.
Overall, this blessing is a reminder of God's love and presence in our lives, and a call to trust in his goodness and faithfulness.

THE EXCELLENCE OF GOD
Scripture Reading: Psalm 8
O Lord, our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the earth! Psalm 8:9
God is an excellent Creator. Creation is a testament to His amazing handiwork. The majestic creation is evidence of the even more majestic Creator - God.
▪ His name is His nature. God and His nature are One. God is light and in Him is no iota of darkness. God is love and in Him is no ounce of hatred. God is holy and in Him is no sin. We worship God for who He is and His attributes can be trusted. To this end, you can confidently trust that because God is faithful, He will take care of all that concerns you. Even in our unfaithfulness, He still remains faithful.
There is a settled assurance in knowing that because God’s nature is holy, when I give my life to Christ, I can also become holy as He is. His righteous nature empowers me to overcome sin and to live a life that pleases Him.
▪ His name is His word. When God promised Abraham, His word was enough to guarantee the fulfillment of the promise because His name and His word are inseparable. His word will always validate His name. God’s word is enough, it carries the authority to fulfill His promises.
You can call on the name of the Lord and He will save you, heal you, deliver you and set you free. His word, which goes out of His mouth, will not return the same, but will accomplish its mission in your life. Read God’s word, meditate on it and build your life on God’s word. It is your most reliable foundation.
▪ His name is His work. The work that God does, the evidence of His creative ability, is expressly seen in His creation. Creation testifies of God’s handiwork; the firmaments validate His excellent work. You don’t have to look too far to see God’s excellent works. You are the capstone of God’s creation and nothing that God created can match the excellence with which He made you.
The excellence of God’s work should challenge us to also be excellent in all that we do. You are God’s child, created in His image and likeness and you must reflect the nature of your Heavenly Father.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, you are excellent in all your ways. My life testifies of your word and your works. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

What's INSIDE YOU?
" But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you."
Romans 8:11
Many people are conscious of all the wrong things which they ignorantly claim to have inside them. Only a few have come to comprehend what they have IN CHRIST. That's why many queue for deliverance to have demons cast out of them by those who are more informed. When you don't acknowledge the indwelling presence of CHRIST IN YOU, you will instead choose to find Satan in you and surely you will.
People talk about all the diabetes they have, all the cancer they have inside their breast, all the diseases they have inside them. Very Rare do people say, "Greater is he that is in me, than he that is in the world." 1 John 4:4 Instead of saying I have a spiritual husband, say "I have CHRIST working in my spirit, in my soul and in my body". It doesn't matter how you may have behaved acknowledge the workings of CHRIST IN YOU. The Bible says, "That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith.." Eph 3:17 This is amazing, CHRIST has taken his abode in the quarters of our hearts. We have become God carriers. We carry his person. We don't carry demons, we carry Christ. Now understand this, even if you had demons fastening themselves to you, the moment you acknowledge this truth they just fall off. The word of God works for those who believe it.
Brothers and Sisters, we have inside us what raised JESUS from the dead, we have inside us what divided the red sea, we have inside us the one who created the whole world. We have inside us, the very mind of Christ. We have inside us what God says we have. Don't say "I don't have self control" Gal 5 :22 says You have it. You may never manifest it until you acknowledge that you have it.
2 Corinthians 4:7 says, "But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us." WE HAVE TREASURE INSIDE US. No we don't have junk. Don't you understand that he says "Christ in you the hope of glory..."Col 1:27
Don't just say I don't have demons just because you don't want to associate with them, SAY IT BECAUSE YOU CHOOSE TO BELIEVE THE WORD. Faith is founded on the word. We say we don't get sick not because we are arrogant, but because the word says BY HIS STRIPES WE WERE HEALED. Philemon 1:6 says "the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus."
Recognise all the good things in you IN CHRIST and see your faith working.

LOVE IS WELL-BEHAVED
Scripture Reading: 1 Corinthians 13
does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 1 Corinthians 13:5–6
Walking in love is also about behaving well towards others. As Christians, we must endeavour not to be disrespectful to others whether we agree or disagree with them.
Not self-seeking. Love considers the opinions and concerns of others. It does not make you think you are always right and makes you empathetic. In your relationship with your spouse, parents, siblings, friends and colleagues, you must seek their best interest at heart.
When there is love, there would be kindness and good manners. You will speak well to people whether they are your subordinates or your superiors. You will treat people with care and concern; and appreciate their wellbeing and welfare.
Not easily provoked. Those who love others do not normally become irritated and angry whenever others do wrong, but rather are slow to anger. They are patient. Even when there is a legitimate reason to vent out your anger, it is done in a more measured and responsible manner.
When you love, you don’t keep a record of wrongs. This is not easy to do but it is possible. Jesus demonstrated this on the cross when He prayed that God would have mercy on the soldiers who had nailed Him to the cross. In line with the way Christ forgave our sins and no longer holds them against us, so must our love hold no record of evil. Jesus’ example must become our example.
Not evil-minded. Love takes no delight in evil or in the misfortunes of others, but it takes great pleasure in what is right. Certainly, love is not soft. It will always seek to build up the other, but that does not mean turning a blind eye to sin or not calling out the evil in another person.
Love is a way of being as a person, a way of thinking, acting, and living. It is, in fact, being Christ-like. May we continue to demonstrate Christlike love in all that we do.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, you have been merciful to me. Help me to show mercy to others as you have shown me mercy. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD
Scripture Reading: Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. Psalm 23:1
Psalm 23 is the most popular of all the psalms. It is popular because it is personal. The psalm celebrates the intimate relationship that David had with the Lord. Although David was a shepherd in his youth, he might have received inspiration for this psalm later in life. As an adult, he contended with the many challenges he faced as a fugitive from King Saul. When he became a king, he had to deal with many plots and intrigues in his palace.
• The Lord. The word ‘LORD’ in the Old Testament was used in place of God’s revealed name to Israel. ‘LORD’ is a relational name. It is a name that establishes the covenant between God and His people. David began his psalm by claiming a covenant relationship with God. He was not simply addressing a Supreme Being or the Creator. He was addressing One whom he had an intimate relationship with.
• My shepherd. As a young man, David was the shepherd over his flock. As king, he was the shepherd of Israel. He was the one who took care of his flock and the nation. However, in this psalm, David reversed roles. He saw himself as the sheep and the Lord as His shepherd.
David shows us that no matter how high and mighty we are in life, the Lord is higher and mightier than us. We can allow Him to shepherd our lives.
• I shall not want. Before David was ever known as warrior and king, the Lord had given him a living experience of His abundant care for His people. Now, looking back beyond Goliath, Saul, Bathsheba, Uriah, Amnon, and Absalom, he fully understood something about the depth of God’s care.
David saw God Himself as his Shepherd. With full trust in the Lord, he could confidently declare, “I shall not want”. He journeyed through life with an assurance that his Shepherd would take care of him. He rested in the knowledge that he would never lack the necessities of life, because the Lord would take care of him.
Today, we can also know the Lord as our Shepherd and fully trust Him to take care of all our needs
Prayer: Heavenly Father, you are my true Shepherd. I trust in you to take care of every situation in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

For great is his love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endured forever. - Psalm 117:2
Rameses II was a bitter man who determined to eradicate the Israelites, whom he decided produced too many boy babies. He is believed to have fifty-nine daughters himself? The instructions went out to all the Hebrew women and mid-wives to kill every baby boy by putting him on the Nike River (Exodus 1:22). The Nile was like the Egyptian freeway. It was the passage for all commerce. It was infested with crocodiles.
The mother of one Hebrew baby wouldn’t consider killing her boy when he was born. She hid him for three months, I assume by feeding him every time a tiny cry escaped his mouth! Then when she could no longer hide him she took him to the very place of execution, the Nile, and floated him in a basket near the water’s edge while her daughter watched to see what could happen.
The baby was discovered by one of Pharaoh’s daughters, who miraculously took pity on him. The baby’s sister ran to ask the royal daughter if she should get one of the Hebrew mothers to name the child. “Yes go, ‘she answered. And the girl went and got the baby’s mother” (Exodus 2:8). Wow! And that was just the beginning of the amazing story of Moses, whom God handpicked to lead his captive people to the Promised Land.
No one, no matter how sinister his heart, can thwart the plans God has for our lives. When we stand back and marvel at the ways of God, they are too wonderful to describe.
Thank you, Father, that your loving hand has always have on my life. Amen.

LOVE ENDURES
Scripture Reading: 1 Corinthians 13
Bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 1 Corinthians 13:7
Love is a powerful virtue. It treats others with grace and generosity. This verse reveals some more characteristics of love:
• Love always covers – “Love bears all things.” The word “bears” can also be translated as covers. Are you saying love covers all things? Yes, it does. We would have hoped that Paul would be careful with the phrase he used, but love covers everything. As human beings, there are things we can handle and things we cannot tolerate; but when we walk in love, we develop the capacity to tolerate everything, especially things that are difficult to permit.
A perfect example of this occurs when Christ was persecuted and eventually crucified by the same people He came to save. It must have taken an extraordinary effort to look at the people crucifying you and still love them - that is the power of love. Even when others despise and persecute you, it is possible to still love them.
• Love looks for the best – “love believes all things.” When you walk in love, you choose to believe the best in others. It is very easy to believe negative attributes and stories about people than to believe in the positive traits they possess. Rumours spread faster than good news, and although no one is perfect, we must look out for the good in others rather than seek out their flaws.
This does not mean that love is gullible, but it does not think the worst of others. Love is not deceived by pretenses, but it is always ready to give the benefit of the doubt.
• Love is forward-looking – “love hopes all things.” Loving someone requires maintaining a measure of optimism on that person’s behalf. Hope is an expectation that good will eventually come out of those who may now be failing. Failure invades every Christian’s life, and it often causes others to give up on the one who fails. Yet, Christians who love keep hoping for the best. This optimism encourages others to keep moving forward. This hope is based not on the Christian, but on Christ.
Love never stops supporting others, never loses faith, never exhausts hope and never gives up.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, you desire the best for me. Help me to seek out the best in others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

HIS ROD AND STAFF COMFORT ME
Scripture Reading: Psalm 23
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. Psalm 23:4
The promises of the Lord’s presence assure us of His protection in times of danger and fear.
What do we learn from the passage?
• In the valley of the shadow of death. Valleys are deep and low-lying spaces. They are narrow, dark, damp and usually encased by steep stone walls, making them virtually inescapable. In the terrain of Judea, in David’s day, valleys were extremely dangerous. Snakes, wild beasts, and criminals lurked in their darkness. When sheep fell into valleys, they were faced with certain death.
Sometimes, life presents us with valleys of death. However, when the Lord is our shepherd, He guides us through dark and fearful experiences. When the enemy attacks, God comes to our defense.
As Christians, we can be confident in God’s promise to protect us from evil. His presence guarantees our safety and security from everything that threatens our wellbeing.
• I will fear no evil. When faced with difficulties, it is easy to feel alone. Difficult moments remind us of how lonely life gets. In the valley moments of your life, when you feel trapped and alone, God is with you. He will never abandon those who belong to Him.
When you don’t feel His presence, He is with you. When everyone forsakes you, He is with you. When life looks bleak and gloomy, He stands by your side. When you feel trapped and suffocated by challenges, He is right there with you. When you are conscious of His presence, you can smile at the storm.
• His rod and staff comfort me. In the days of the Psalmist, the rod and staff were tools used by the shepherd to guide his sheep. The shepherd’s rod beat off attacking animals, and his staff kept the sheep away from physical dangers. Instead of fear and panic, God brings us peace and comfort.
He comforts us in painful moments and helps us to overcome the difficulties that confront us.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, Your presence keeps me from evil. Even in the dark moments of life, I know you are with me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

VIRTUE AND VALUE
Scripture Reading: Proverbs 31:10-31
Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies. Proverbs 31:10
The Hebrew word translated “excellent” is also translated as noble and virtuous. It speaks of having outstanding quality - in strength, wealth, or ability. The passage describes the virtuous woman. However, that description can also be made of men. Both men and women can be virtuous.
Our passage for today describes an excellent person in two ways.
▪ Virtuous. That means they bring something good out of things. They contribute goodness to whatever they do. Our contribution to life must be positive. Our contribution to our workplace must be positive.
Have you ever asked yourself whether you are a positive force or a negative one? At home, at work, at church, do you think people see you as a positive contributor?
The Lord wants our influence on others to be virtuous. He calls us salt and light.
▪ Valuable. Excellent people are not easy to find because only few are willing to invest the time and effort to distinguish themselves from the crowd. In the midst of a multitude, you can stand out and make a difference.
Excellence magnifies the value of your work, sets you apart from the multitude and multiplies your worth. The world is looking for people that are excellent, dependable and virtuous, but there are only few that can be found, and may you be counted amongst them because you have made a commitment to be excellent in all that you do.
▪ Her value is more than money. A lot of us have value that can be readily matched to a certain monetary amount. However, God wants our value and contribution to be beyond anything we are paid. When you find a person with an excellent character their worth is beyond any monetary value.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to be a virtuous person. Let me be a positive influence wherever you place me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

It doesn't matter where you go, you are a representation of Jesus!
We don't go to church, we are the church!
Sometimes, when God calls us to something, it causes us to move out of our comfort zone. But when you are obedient to it, you will find greater peace than you could ever imagine!
We have become such a self-serving society that we sometimes forget that it is our privilege to enter into the presence of the King. Don't ever take worship for granted!

Is there anything that would make you give up Jesus? No, I didn't think so!
You don’t have to be in a church service in order for God’s presence to inhabit your praises. You can be at home and turn your living room into a cathedral if you’ll start talking to God about who He is!
God’s source of supply is unlimited! “The earth is the Lord’s, and all it contains, the world, and those who dwell in it.” Psalm 24:1!

The Holy Spirit taught me that whenever anyone accept Jesus, the person becomes a new creature and is no longer who he or she used to be.
But sometimes visitors like shame, inferiority complex, depression, and the likes will still come to pay a visit, and it is up to you to let them know that the person who accommodated them before no longer lives here, when you accepted Jesus, that person you used to be was sent packing, and you are now a new creature.
So when the depression that was in your past comes to visit, tell it.
"You are in the wrong address, that depressed woman no longer lives here, the woman who lives here is filled with the joy of the Holy Spirit."
When the devil comes with his usual lies to belittle you, and make you feel less, tell him.
"You are in the wrong address, that person who gladly allowed your lies to feel at home in his mind, no longer lives here."
When inferiority complex comes to pay a visit, tell it.
"You are in the wrong address, that woman whose worth was defined by the dictionary of other people's opinions no longer lives here, the woman who lives here has found her worth in Christ."
When the demons that oppress you every night come to visit to give you sleepless nights, tell them.
"You are in the wrong address, that weak woman that allowed you to oppress her no longer lives here, she left here the day i discovered my authority in Christ."
Oh! Sometimes you will have visitors from your past that will come to pay visit to the person you used to be before you met Jesus and your responsibility is to boldly tell them.
"THIS IS THE WRONG ADDRESS, THAT PERSON NO LONGER LIVES HERE."

ATTACKS AGAINST SEED
“And Pharaoh charged all his people, saying, Every son that is born ye shall cast into the river, and every daughter ye shall save alive.” (Exodus 1: 22)
That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.
Our Focal Scripture speaks of that moment when Pharaoh decreed that every son that is born to the children of Israel must be cast into the river. Pharaoh wanted the sons born to the children of Israel to be killed. Sons are carriers of seed. So Pharaoh made a plan that was going to attack the carriers of seed. It was an attack designed specifically to hinder a future harvest by cutting short the carriers of seeds that yield harvest.
Friend, every attack against your seed in 2023, I decree, let it scatter by the fire of God. Let the fire of God come against every attack against your capacity and abilities. Let the fire of God cut down every evil hand that wants to stifle your seed and make you bereft of a heavy harvest. Let the hand of the Lord crush every attack against your activities that should birth results for you. Let every attack against your seed end now.
Pharaoh was plotting against the male children of Israel to ensure that the carriers of seed would be unable to reproduce in future. He wanted to systematically curtail their increase ahead of time. Hear me as I hear the Lord: every arrangement of the enemy to systematically curtail your increase and advancement, let the fire of God answer for you. Let the hand of the Lord scatter every plan to hinder your rising and expansion.
In Judges 6 vs. 3, Israel had a special set of attackers who came whenever they had put seed to the ground. Israel had people whose interest was to stop their seed. Today, I pass a decree: every stopper of your seed will be stopped by the hand of the Lord. Every stopper and attacker that wants to make a mess of your efforts will receive the slap of angels. Every lying tongue that is positioned against your seed, let fire stop them.
You will move from seed time to harvest time. Your seed will not die. Your efforts will not be cut short.
Isaiah 62: 8 says: “The LORD hath sworn by his right hand, and by the arm of his strength, Surely I will no more give thy corn to be meat for thine enemies; and the sons of the stranger shall not drink thy wine, for the which thou hast laboured:”
Declare With Me: Every attack against my seed ends now; both the attack and attacker, let fire answer, in Jesus’ name!

DECREE A THING
Scripture Reading: Job 22
You will also declare a thing, And it will be established for you; So light will shine on your ways. Job 22:28
God has granted all who are in Christ the opportunity to live a life of authority and power. When the words of our mouth and the declarations of our heart agree with His purpose for our lives, the desires of our hearts will be established. The passage teaches us the following:
• You will also declare a thing. One of the ways we step into God’s promises is through the decrees we make. When we feed on God’s word until it sinks deep into our hearts, and we declare it in faith, it becomes God’s decree. The words have power to bring to pass the decree that we have made.
When God promises to do something, ours is to learn of the promise from His word and confidently affirm it. We become partners with God, to see His decrees established on the earth and in our lives. Put to practice this provision God has made and make bold declarations in line with His purposes.
• It will be established for you. That’s a promise, that when we declare something, it will be established. To establish something means to bring something into existence. God is able to cause what we decree with our mouths to become a reality. “What God has said, is what I will say.” That must be your mantra. As the Psalmist declared that, “the Lord is my Shepherd”, you can also say, “He is my Shepherd and so I am safe and preserved”.
Several times, the declarations we make stand contrary to what we are experiencing. But regardless, we must address the situation with God’s word in our mouths. If you feel sick, declare you are healed; if you feel weak, declare you are strong.
• Light will shine on your ways. God’s light and power come rushing in to dispel the darkness surrounding us when we declare His word. Fear, discouragement, sickness, and every other thing the Lord does not desire for us, will flee at God’s word.
It’s a new year and a new beginning. Declare God’s word over your life, your family and all that concerns you, and it will come to pass.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, let the declarations of my heart manifest your purposes through my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

YOUR WILL BE DONE.
Matthew 6:10
"Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven".
Our first petition in prayer focuses on God's kingdom and his will. Many times, we go into prayer because we have a need to place before the Lord. Because a lot of our prayers are driven by our need, our prayers can be selfish and self centered. In the Lord's prayer, Jesus taught us not to make our need the priority of our prayer.
YOUR KINGDOM COME.
God's kingdom is his rule. As we pray "your kingdom come", we align ourselves with God's higher purposes. That means although we have personal needs, our primary desire should be for God to establish his reign in our hearts.
YOUR WILL BE DONE.
God's will is what he wants done. God created human beings with a unique capacity called "free Will" That means, although God created us, he wants us to serve him because we choose to.
GOD HAS A WILL. WE HAVE A WILL.
The big question is whose will should be done? Many times, our will is opposite of God's will. We can only pray effectively when we surrender our will to God. That means we learn to say, not my will, but yours, O Lord.
ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN.
Ultimately, we want life on earth to reflect life in heaven. We want to see life on earth from a heavenly point of view. God reigns in heaven absolutely, which means that all of heaven experiences, his perfect will. Jesus prays that earth will experience that same rule of God.
Beloved, life on earth is opposite the life in heaven. Here, there's so much rebellion, wickedness, evil, enmity, bitterness, hatred, murder, injustice deprivation and hunger. We must not accept the earth's corruption as the normal life. We need to pray consistently "Your Kingdom Come, your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven".
Glory To God.
