What is up with the crossroads stone husks

the crossroads ones really look right out of a burial huh

How are they so quickly fossilized? my guesses are either the burial method making the process faster, or an inherent property of the region (there's just so much fossilized stuff in the game), or a combination of the two

Either way, I'd still guess these are older than the kingdom or at least older than the bodies we see in resting grounds; maybe even from the ancient civilization (not all of the bugs in that era were necessarily giants, judging by the totems and little remaining architecture)

"wrapping up a bug before putting it into a coffin" isn't necessarily a hallownest only thing anyways, wether inherited or not

talking about the godseekers...

coffins in this world are called cocoons (which on itself has juicy implications about beliefs related to the afterlife)

and dont these...look like cocoons?

this of course implies hallownest bugs unearthed these burials when building the crossroads, perhaps as an unexpected discovery, and left them to the side of the roads as eye catching decoration

at the very least thats my theory

i use a triangle brush from suke and i use the same but transparent instead of eraser, thats what gives my art that dinamic vibe xD
