Can’t y’all bring some of the OG cast back? I’m not complaining, I like the new cast, but like, V.P stern and Prinicpal hicks won’t feel the same. This wasn’t a hate post, I was just curious

Thank you for the question. The cast selection was all done with careful consideration from us as a trio in the manner of respect for the original cast, but also us striving to shine a new light on things and bring other faces to the front of this. Ultimately we did decide one alumni would be a nostalgic and pleasant familiarity for people who end up supporting this project—that being Joan “reprising” the role of Grandma Weir, but left it at that. It has been stated in a past post that you are more than welcome to imagine whoever you like while you read, if you choose to do so, because we have no control over where your imagination goes with things and we encourage you to think outside the box if you so wish. That is more than okay. We’d love it if you envisioned who we “casted” but this is all for fun, so we are not here to enforce our face claims. As for it not feeling the same, that is not hugely one of our goals in general. While we want to bring back to life a cult classic in the span of 2000s kid’s TV shows, we are definitely putting spins on things and creating a new overall tonal vibe to the screen-write. It will be a bit more for the maturer audience, with more intense thematics, language, and horror, in comparison to the original. For example “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” to it’s reprisal “The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”. It won’t feel the same, so if you were hoping for that we are sorry to say that it won’t really be as such, but there definitely will be quite a handful of things for readers to potentially notice as references and see the influence of the original. While the characters are the same and most of their general personalities are too, lots of plot lines have been very thoroughly expanded upon, altered, re-imagined, and all sorts of fun things that we truly hope you enjoy despite it’s uniqueness from the original.
