You know, if you want to keep redesigning CatGabriel's mask, you can simply give it a reason to change so much.

"The miraculous's transformation is a reflection of the mind and overall, a physical representation of the holder's personality, so if a holder doesn't reflect his true self on his regular life, the miraculous will do it for him, which is why Catastrophe's mask basically functions as a mood ring, constantly changing its design depending on how he fells that day, which Gabriel finds, quite frankly, very weird. "

It would be fun, for someone as unexpressive as Gabriel, to have the least constant design, at least would be a fun explanation and gives room for desgining freedom from any lore inconsistency. What do you think?

i like that reasoning! and as a character in this au, i do feel that gabriel would be in constant development, so a changing exterior feels apt.

that said, it’s really only his mask i feel the urge to change 😅 and for entirely cosmetic reasons, too. most other black cats have their ears hidden, after all. lady noire being the exception is just about the only thing that makes catastrophe’s ears being visible feel okay, but only just. everything else about his design, i’m generally pretty satisfied with!

…were the agrestes not shady people from the beginning, in canon? 😅 idk and idc what they’re doing with them anymore, but i always got the sense that gabriel and emilie’s history with magic and the miraculous made them shady by default 😆

Have you tought how OG Cat Noir and Ladybug would react to their counterparts of Luck and strife? It's so funny to me to imagine it, but I am pretty sure I may be way off on my mental fanfic 😂😂😂

haha! i’ll admit, i’ve been contemplating drawing the four of them together, but i haven’t actually given thought to how they’d interact…

mm, i think ladybug and chat noir are awed and excited to meet adult wielders of their miraculous, but also find lady luck and catastrophe to be a bit… severe 😅 lady luck and catastrophe are more baffled that children are wielding such powerful miraculous.

after the ice breaks a little:

ladybug thinks lady luck is really cool and smart and capable, and lady luck finds ladybug impressive as well. chat noir and catastrophe… basically 3:19 of this video lmao, but catastrophe finds him endearing, deep down. especially since he can tell chat noir’s got feelings for his lady.

catastrophe has the same opinion on ladybug that lady luck does, and also appreciates her creativity (even if he thinks her plans can get a little convoluted). ladybug finds him quite gallant and chivalrous.

lady luck has a similar reaction to chat noir as catastrophe does, but she’s more willing to indulge his playfulness. she’ll even call catastrophe out for being such a brick wall when he’s normally sillier and more relaxed like chat noir is lmao
