UPDATE! (Character Bios+Art and others!)

Howdy, everyone! It’s me, Nina! Sorry about this blog being kinda... well, dead over the past few months. I’d like to discuss some stuff about Toontale.

First off: No, the AU isn’t dead. Far from it. In fact, it’s actually gotten a bit revamped in recent times, with new artwork, new designs, some backstories (which sorry will be kept secret for now) and one role change.

I will be posting new artwork along with full bios of the characters soon, I have about eight pieces of official character art done, but not a single bio has been fully written. Why bios? Well, we don’t want people thinking that these guys are just cartoon characters with Undertale personalities, now do we?

Now, onto production of the series itself... we haven’t started any animation, and we still have to make a lot of sprites for even Episode 1. (All we have for that are overworld sprites for Spongebob and Kai-Lan, and battle sprites for Spongebob and Penny. Everything else we have is for later episodes). So, I hope y’all are willing to wait just a bit longer. The earliest I’d want to get Episode 1 out is Late July or Early August, but I don’t know how possible that would be. Nevertheless, I will try my hardest to get Episode 1 out before the year is over.

How is the animation going? Because i wanna see it. No rush, just give me a percentage of how much you would say you've done.

Unfortunately we haven’t started it yet. Other projects me and the team have been working on along with school finals have prevented us from working on it.

I will say that we are hoping to get Episode 1 sometime before this year is over, so hopefully the wait won’t be too bad for y’all who want to see it.

If the underground is for cancelled cartoons, what are pinkie pie and pikachu doing in there?

FOR FUCKS SAKE EVERYONE, READ THIS SO I DON’T GET THIS QUESTION MULTIPLE TIMES:

Pinkie and Pikachu are actually from MAD, an animated adaptation of the magazine, that mocked various TV shows, movies, video games, etc.

The show started in 2010, and ended in 2013, so it counts. I figured including a more obscure cartoon in the main cast would be interesting.

Once upon a time...

For years, toons lived in peace amongst each other.

At some point in a toon’s life, their SOULs begin to change, turning them into what are known as “cancels.”

For a while, cancels were still treated equally amongst the non-cancelled toons.

Until one fateful day...

Soon, the non-cancelled toons waged war with the cancels.

With the non-cancels emerging victorious, the cancels were banished to the Underground via a magic spell.

For years, many “normal” toons tried to free the cancels, including 7 daring souls, including the prince of the cancels. Unfortunately, none of them succeeded, and passed away under the care of the king and queen.

The cancels had lost all hope of freedom. Nothing could be done to help...
