thanks to everyone who submitted! i'm going to get the match-ups all sorted out over the coming days. april 12th marks the two year anniversary of the beginning of the last tournament, so i'm aiming to start posting the first heat then!

it's that time again!

i've collected all the main characters, plus returning characters who sport new outfits, from gaiden, iw and pyih. i'm not revealing the lineup ahead of time because i didn't do that last time, but...

my ask box is open for nominations!

...in case i've missed someone, or you just want to ensure your fav gets in, or there's some minor character that you think is drippy enough to deserve a little recognition. some rules to 🐻 in 🧠:

character must be new to gaiden, infinite wealth or pirate yakuza in hawaii. for example, shishido, yamai, masaru.

existing characters may be suggested if they have a new outfit.

the two variants per character rule still applies, regardless of whether or not that character was in the last tournament. so for example, i'll be including fisherman saejima and hawaii saejima.

and one more disclaimer...

from now on, this blog may feature spoilers for the three aforementioned games, including pirate yakuza in hawaii, which only came out in february of this year. please keep this in mind as you proceed!

truth be told i was going to do a ship tournament sometime last year where kazumaji were auto disqualified to make it fairer. but i got a frankly STUPID amount of backlash and realized it absolutely wasn't worth it.

there's probably enough new characters between gaiden, iw and pyih to warrant another go around, with the caveat that none of the old participants run again unless they have a new outfit (so fisherman 3jima would be valid, as would grey hair kiryu, hawaii outfit ichigang, etc)

idk! it could be fun. i sort of fell out of the fandom for a little while due to personal reasons but i'd be game for another smaller tournament for new characters + outfits if that's something people are interested in?
