Kath Holden is an artist of the everyday. Inspired by the world around her, Kath's creations are whimsical yet keenly observed, and a far cry from the genteel museum pieces that her contemporaries are producing. A proud Yorkshire woman, Kath reflects on her life and art as she carves a place for herself in the precious world of miniatures.

Crows Arrive in Lawrence Ma from Dennis Hlynsky on Vimeo.
The Essex Art Center (essexartcenter.org/) will be mounting an exhibit in January 2019. This video is the first of mine to focus on the winter crow roost.
Each winter crows from Canada fly south to warmer winter locations. One of these locations is Lawrence Ma where in December the local Corvus inhabitants are joined by their northern neighbors. The murder swells from five thousand to sixteen thousand birds. The crows gather to settle at the nighttime roost in the trees, on the ground, and on electric lines along side the Merrimack River.
This footage was recorded with a GH5s in HD 59.97 fps 8bit over-cranked to 250 fps. Processed in After Effects at 29.97 8bit. Render time exceeded 90 hours.

(Lundhags) A Nordic Skater from Paulius Neverbickas on Vimeo.
A Nordic Skater is a very first film about this little known sport. It features Per Sollerman, a photographer who has been skating on frozen lakes and fjords for the past 10 years. During 6 captivating minutes, the viewer is transported to the region of Oslo to have a peek at a story of a man who uses every sense he has to travel on thin ice. Per tells the story of how the little known sport of nordic skating came to play a big part in his life. “It is rooted deep in our bones that we need to be out in the nature,” he says.
Directed, shot and edited by Paulius Neverbickas. Music by Luca Nioi.
Big thanks to Lundhags for believing in this project! lundhags.se/en/

Can't Nobody Else Love You from Ivan Olita on Vimeo.
Can't Nobody Else Love You is a documentary that takes a dreamlike plunge into the freedoms, uncertainties and radical creative expressions of New York City’s youth. In Can't Nobody Else Love You, the surreal and loose-limbed non-fiction film follows 9 individuals as they wander through a layered narrative that combines vérité footage from the street of New York interspersed with vividly staged scenes that ultimately provide a sense of dislocation yet uncanny attachment. Can we be loved if we don’t love ourselves first?
