He muttered, a slight bounce in his step since from earlier while he was gone, lets just say.. Koj is a bit different in a way.

Brick scrambles to their feet, not even looking back at Ningyō once as they move to follow Dottore.

"Uh... it's a directing word, I guess? It's used to kinda shape the sentence? Like, if I have something for someone, it indicates the thing is going to be given or shown to that person. When I said 'thank you for asking,' I was using 'for' to show that the reason I was saying 'thank you' was because I was grateful you asked how I was doing."
