ik this is so unrelated to everything on this blog but i recently found out that my besties ex bf (also my friend) actually liked me instead of her???? and the reason he went after her was bc i had to leave our school bc of personal issues??? that fucking bastard istg why. would. u. do. that. that's just wrong on so many levels wtf

fuck it. be creative even if you never really *make* anything. write out plot synopses of stories and then move on. design OCs you'll never use. make mood boards and concept art and don't do anything with them. life's too short to forget everything that inspired you and creation doesn't have to be "complete" to be worth the time you put into it.

After years of lurking, Ive finally made fandom friends that I love talking to. But some of them write fic Im just not interested in reading (just my preference/taste, nothing triggery). I want to be their friends regardless. Im worried theyll eventually notice that I never bring up or compliment their work, which will kill the friendship. Do authors notice which friends dont bring up their work? Im open to hearing that I should just read and say something nice about the fic to keep the friends!

Don’t feel like you have to read someone’s fics just because you’re friends with them. If it’s not your thing, that’s totally fine. I can’t handle angst and my fandom bestie knows I can’t do angst and so she’s not at all surprised when I don’t read her angst fics. 

It’s not about her. It’s about what I do and don’t enjoy reading. Enjoyment is reason enough, too. No triggers required.

You’re allowed to have preferences, anon. I don’t expect people to read my fics just because we’re friends. I expect them to enjoy whatever fics they’re interested in, the same way I do. ❤
