To add to this (and potentially cause more chaos), but we have these buttons at work and I had to research where they came from...the buttons used on the new era Black Parade uniforms are WW1 German buttons (specifically Schutztruppe)
EDIT: BREAKING NEWS (to me at least) I IDENTIFIED THE MEDAL!
thinking abt how G has a different kind of "award" on his arm now than he used to
old vs new
same arm,same placement....
interesting to know what they are/why they r different
edit: it looks like there r different images on the front and back...the front seems to be a woman with a braid, and other is a wreath )?) of some kind. also interesting to note it says 1977 on the top, which is Gerard's birth year.
(thanks to reddit for the last pic)

ANOTHER EDIT: I FOUND IT!! (I THINK?)

it's from ww1 some sources r saying it's Joan of Arc?? But most are saying it's "Gallia" the personification of France
more info!!
"It was awarded to French soldiers who served at least three months between August 2, 1914, and November 11, 1918, in an officially recognized war zone. It could also be awarded to civilian nurses, aliens serving under French command, and certain high-ranking military officials."
INTERESTING ENOUGH...
I'm no historian but i'm reading some articles and I found there is another personification of France known as

People talk about Elsa's "Let it Go" moment having killed the men of the Terror and the Erebus, but it goes farther than that. That same historically cold winter of 1846/1847 also caused so much snow that it led to an infamous American tragedy, as I learned when I read the nonfiction work The Indifferent Stars Above.
If Elsa killed the Terror and Erebus men, then she also doomed the Donner Party.

“Good evening, gentlemen!” said the vampire. “Please pay attention. I am a reformed vampire, which is to say, I am a bundle of suppressed instincts held together with spit and coffee. It would be wrong to say that violent, tearing carnage does not come naturally to me. It's not tearing your throats out that doesn't come easily to me. Please don't make it any harder.”
― Terry Pratchett, Monstrous Regiment
