What makes RichFeel Anagrow Treatment so unique?
Humanity has been in the quest for the secret of eternal youth since time immemorial. Rich, thick, shiny hair and healthy glowing skin are perhaps the best indicators of the fountain of youth.
Just as ageing skin manifests itself through wrinkles, greying hair manifests itself through thinning of hair. Thinning hair in women is not as common as in men. In women, oestrogen counteracts the adverse effects of androgen. However, during times like menopause or pregnancy/postpartum, when there is fluctuation in oestrogen androgen gets triggered, leading to thinning changes being visible on the crown portion of the scalp.
Let’s have a quick recap of the most common 5 Signs Of Hair Thinning
Scanty Hair
Decreased Volume
Lack Of Hair Growth
Decreased Density
Hair Loss
In our earlier blog, we clarified some of the common myths about female hair thinning and laid out the facts for you.
For conquering hair thinning, various treatments have been tried, like applying snake oils, elephant ivory powder and standing on one’s head. Thinning hair treatments traditionally related to hair-conditioning, hair rejuvenation and restoration – which is logical but does not attack the problem scientifically at the root level. This was the scenario until Anagrow came about!
The Story of
RichFeel’s Anagrow
Just as the story of mankind started with an ‘apple’, Newton’s Theory of Gravity came into being with an ‘apple’, anagrow’s beginnings are associated with just as special an ‘apple’!
In the 19th century, the Swiss stumbled onto a rare & endangered species of apple, that never seemed to rot or age. Research by Mibelle – a scientific research group in Switzerland – revealed the anti-aging properties of this rare apple, the Uttwiler Spatlauber.
Further research into this led to the remarkable discovery of Plant Stem Cells! Similar research was carried out on the Argan Tree, the oldest living tree on the planet and also on Pea Sprout extract.
When applied through the right technology it was found that these stem cells activated certain factors that delayed aging, replenishing dying cells and induced formation of new hair follicles. When applied on the hair bulge, it was found to increase hair growth & reduce hair fall as well!
Anagrow was developed to use this finding to fights the Hair thinning. It packs the punch of these incredible ingredients we have spoken about above together and delivers it perfectly into the scalp using the World’s first Transdermal Penetration Machine. The result this combination delivers stands unmatched to date!
A truly revolutionary & unique offering pioneered at RichFeel, to put an end to Hair Thinning forever. What’s so unique about it? Let’s understand it here.
The Product
RichFeel’s PCT RejuvaMax – the key solution to hair thinning – is a breakthrough product made for the first time using the plant stem cell technology containing extracts from Swiss Apple stem cell, Pea sprout extract and Argan stem cell.
It was discovered that plant stem cells could be useful in providing nutrition to the human stem cells which could be responsible for stimulating growth, delay ageing, provide firmness and elasticity to hair and form hair follicles. Research revealed the following:
SourceFindingResults
Swiss Apple Stem Cell ExtractsHelps the epidermal stem cells to maintain their characteristics and replenish dying cells1) Delays ageing
2) Lowers down hair follicle regression
Argan Tree Stem Cell ExtractsInduces the formation of new hair follicles.1)Increases Hair follicle proliferation
2) Vitalises and protects dermal hair papilla
Pea Sprout Extracts1) Stimulates dermal papilla to induce the growth of new hair.
2) Reactivate hair increase by reducing the amount of hair in telogen phase and stimulating anagen hair.Prolongs life cycle of hair:
1) Increases growth
2) Reduces hair fall
3) Restores hair regeneration
Nano – Lipobelle Q 10 using Nano emulsions1) Growth of dermal papilla cells
2) Hair Follicle growth in-vitro1) Re-energises hair follicle cells thereby stimulating growth and increased volume, density by human hair follicular proliferation.
2) Prevents greying of hair.
The Machine
The next challenge was ensure penetration of the product in the human scalp in a non-invasive yet effective manner. This lead to the development of the World’s first Transdermal Penetration Machine – RF Anagrow 10X, in collaboration with scientists from Italy.
RF Anagrow 10X machine for transdermal hair follicular penetration ensures complete detoxification of the scalp and penetrates active stem cells by removing DHT, which is one of the prime causes of thinning of hair in both men and women. It performs the following functions:
1. Detoxify
2. Vaculase
3. Rejuvenate
This is done with the help of a motorised spatula. It gets rid of the oil and the dirty layer of the scalp. Using this special spatula, the therapist will also open the pores of the scalp to enable better penetration of the active plant stem cells to extract.
The second step uses low-level beam of lasers. This helps in improving the blood supply to the hair follicles, and also helps to a great extent in stimulating the hair follicles, for getting the best results.
The third and the most crucial step is the Rejuve step also termed as Sonophoresis which is done with the help of an ultrasonic probe. By this, the active plants stem cells extract is made to penetrate the scalp with the help of the ultrasonic probe, which further helps in giving the desired results.
This revolutionary combination of PCT Rejuve Max and RF Anagrow 10X in the Anagrow Treatment thus fights the five signs of hair thinning in the most unique effective manner.
By far this is one of the most effective treatments for hair thinning available in India. Thanks to RichFeel’s pioneering efforts in hair treatment research, hair thinning remedy is now a reality. And the treatment is practically available at your doorstep given the vast network of Clinics RichFeel has across the country. Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow?! – Meet a Hair Doctor & Solve the Mystery
Whenever I wash my hair a lot of hair falls. My friends tell me that it is because I use shampoo and suggested I switch to soap. What is normal hair loss per day? Jatin Patel College student, 21
I have recently noticed very worrying changes in my hair. I have developed excessive facial hair, oily skin and balding in front. Please help. Fardeen Merchant Marketing executive, 35
I am a forty-five-year-old man and am facing rapid balding. I don’t see a cure as my brother, and her father has the same problem, so it seems to be genetic. Can anything be done to help? Dominic Fernandez Medical representative, 32
Hair loss always provokes panicked responses. In the past, the first signs of hair falling would trigger off frantic oiling of the scalp, counting of the number of strands of hair falling per day and the application of random home remedies.
Today, Trichology, the science of hair and scalp, has systematised the body of knowledge relating to hair and has made the diagnosis and treatment of hair disorders scientific. Questions about hair loss, however, remain the number one concern of the average man or woman and trichologists are accustomed to being asked when one should start to worry.
So, how much hair loss is normal?
There is no exact number by which you can determine if your hair loss is excessive. Excessive hair loss means more hair than you have normally been losing. The normal percentage of hair in the falling stage is 20% and anything over this is abnormal and requires treatment.
The only person qualified to tell you if you are losing too much hair is a trichologist. While most people tend to run to their hairdresser or barber with their hair problems, despite experience, a stylist is not medically qualified to get to the root of the problem. Trichology, with the benefit of research and technology, can pinpoint the cause of hair loss, and prescribe solutions.
So, If your hair loss persists, you should contact a trichologist and check your A/T ratio.
What is the A/T ratio?
A certain amount of hair loss is inevitable. Our hair goes through a natural cycle of growth and fall which can be broken down into three phases.
1) Anagen Phase – Growth Phase
2) Catagen Phase – Transitional Phase
3) Telogen Phase – Resting Phase
To know more about these phases, click here. Thus, it is perfectly reasonable to lose hair. However, the rate of growth compared to the rate of fall or one’s anagen/telogen ratio determines if your hair loss is healthy or not.
What next?
A specific test known as tricho-analysis of the hair and scalp has been defined to check the A/T ratio and determine the state of the hair follicles. Once this is done, and if your hair loss is found to be abnormal; a trichologist would classify the hair loss into –
1) Diffuse Temporary hair loss – temporary hair loss all over the scalp due to factors like viral fever, medication, hormonal changes etc which may need simple corrections and it will show improvement
2) Diffuse Permanent hair loss – permanent cause found can be reason for hairfall e.g Thyroid disorders, anemia or any scalp dermatitis which needs a correction to control hair fall.
3) Loose Anagen Syndrome – In this category hair is unable to complete its life cycle and attain optimum length & thickness and falls of prematurely, most often expressed as “I touch my hair and it comes out”
4) Telogen effluvium – Hair is lost in bunches as seen after Chemotherapy or food poisoning etc.
This study is made along with a thorough look at the patient’s medical case history, lifestyle, diet etc. Treatment and the best course of action are then accordingly prescribed by the doctors.
Whenever a patient visits RichFeel, this detailed diagnosis process is conducted. The Trichoanalysis – Trichogram, is performed for absolute quantification of abnormal or normal hair fall. Advanced technologies and treatments are then suitably prescribed to solve the concern once for all. At RichFeel, it is acknowledged that each patient is unique and their experience unique to them. Hence solutions are completely personalised.
Trichology & RichFeel exist so that you don’t have to endure hair loss. Visit your nearest RichFeel Clinic, consult richly experienced Hair Doctors & leave behind your Hair worries.

Your Hair Transplant Checklist – A Must Read!
Everyone has heard about Hair Transplants being the best option for regaining hair naturally but few know what it involves, what needs to be considered about when, where & how to get it done. More often than not, in the sheer desperation of moving on with it at earliest, clearly having pondered over it for long, you just jump right into it without giving due consideration to some very key factors.
You may have read our earlier blogs on the 5 Ws of Hair Transplant & questions you may have had about the procedure. Also, our breakdown of which is the best method to adopt for the process. If you haven’t yet read them, please do so. Awareness is the most important! Any decision that you take, needs to be a well-informed one, as in the case with anything in life!
You buy the best laptop, phone, TV (or anything for that matter!) after doing a great deal of research about options, brands and trends. It’s a matter of your looks, your time, your money, your image, your hair, and your life. Do take time to know everything and keep yourself abreast with information on hair transplant before actually going for it.
Here, we give you a quick checklist of must-knows about hair transplant and how it’s done at RichFeel, India’s largest exclusive Hair & Scalp care network & pioneers in the field of Surgical Hair Restoration.
1. Use of Advanced & Best-in-Class Technology for your Transplant –
Aesthetic Hair Implants
(AHI) technique.
RichFeel through its alliance with Ailesbury Hair Clinic of London introduced AHI to India. It is a minimally invasive procedure, using the patented Foli Pen and Extractor, which can create a natural hairline with maximum density and has the fastest recovery time. Click here to learn more about AHI at RichFeel.
2. Use of Patented Mechanized Extractor that can place 3,000 to 4,500 hairs in a single sitting.
The one-of-its-kind extractor gives the ability to safely and conveniently place 3,000 to 4,500 hairs in a single sitting. The high efficiency and accuracy level of the extractor, carefully handled by a skilled & intensely trained surgeon delivers this result.
3. Procedure using punch grafts of 0.7 – 0.9 mm diameter – No stitches, no linear scarring.
The tiny punch grafts of this diameter specification are much smaller than the conventional FUE techniques leaving no scope of linear scarring. Extraction marks are close to invisible.
4. Implant about 60-70 hairs per sq.cm. which is vital for a high-density end result.
Per sq.cm. density placement is vital for a high-density end-result. AHI Implants about 60-70 hairs per sq.cm. which is way more than with any of the conventional methods.
5. Use of Foli Pen Technology for natural zigzag hairline
The unique Foli Pen technology does not make a slit in the frontal hairline and can create a natural (zig-zag) frontal hairline. This is not offered in the traditional surgical hair restoration procedures.
6. No. of hours per session/ sitting – 4-6 hours only; with required breaks if needed.
RichFeel takes the utmost care with it’s patient’s comfort and convenience while ensuring that the desired results are delivered. 3,000 to 4,500 hairs are placed in a sitting that does not take more than 6 hours. Sufficient breaks are given to the patient during the process, to ensure comfort.
7. State-of-the-art Operation Theatre to handle surgeries under local anaesthesia; with hygiene, procedure & emergency protocols in place.
Off lately there are several stand-alone clinics and offices that have been set up, offering hair transplants. Hair transplant is not something that can be done off a salon technician’s chair. It needs the right OT environment, equipped with required hygiene, procedural and emergency protocols in place, duly supervised by surgeons. RichFeel houses State-of-the-art Operation theatre, completely equipped to handle surgeries under local anesthesia, as with the hair transplant procedure.
8. In-depth pre-procedure tests & medical history review carried out by a qualified doctor during consultation before surgery; to ensure the good health & fitness of the patient.
Every patient undergoes a very detailed consultation process with the Doctors at RichFeel. Complete medical history, lifestyle practices and diet are thoroughly run through. Prescribed pre-procedure tests are conducted before the surgery, to ensure that the patient is in the right health & fitness mode for the surgery. And these assessments are made by highly qualified & richly experienced doctors.
9. Surgery performed exclusively by intensely trained & qualified Cosmetic Surgeon / Surgeon / Dermatologist; certified by internationally accredited AHI, London.
Hair restoration surgery is an art that the surgeons master, with rigorous training and practice. The finesse of results depends on the technique and the instruments used. Only a trained surgeon can guide you correctly as to how the restoration can be done and what you can expect with the surgery. Surgeries at RichFeel are handled exclusively by intensely trained & qualified Cosmetic Surgeon / Surgeon / Dermatologist who are certified by the internationally accredited AHI, London.
10. No-Shave option (procedure without shaving scalp ) available on consultation with the doctor.
This option being available opens up the hair transplant option to many more, especially women who are apprehensive about having to shave the head completely for the process. During the consultation process, this option is thoroughly discussed and assessed whether it can be performed so for the individual patient. It is then taken forward on mutual agreement.
11. Transplanted hairs start to grow 2-3 months after surgery; 12 months to appreciate best results.
The implanted hair takes about 2 to 3 months to begin growing and it takes 12 months to appreciate the best results. Multiple reviews are made by the doctor in the intermediate time, to ensure that the progress is in order.
12. Routine hair care, styling, colouring can be done. Life is normal!
Hair transplant is the most suitable way to regain your natural hair. And the surgical process is to ensure that the results help you with regaining your normal routine! Bust the 10 Myths on Female Hair Thinning
Are you worried about your thinning hair? You are not the only person because 50% of the female population is dealing with hair thinning and hair loss. If you are aware of the signs, then you can find a solution fast and stay clear!
Let’s quickly have a recap of the telltale signs of hair thinning:
Clumps of hair fall out
Loss of hair on the scalp
Bald spots on the forehead
Itchy, flaky scalp
Slow hair growth
And in case of female pattern thinning:
Hair thinning all over
Wider centre parting
A bald spot at the crown of your head
Rarely a receding front hairline
To restore your crowning glory, you need to understand the root of the problem and take timely medical, professional help.
There are unfortunately some myths that float around this subject. So, you need to sort out the facts from fiction and be clear of what’s what!
Here, let us bust the top 10 myths around Hair thinning in womenMyth 1: Washing your hair excessively can cause hair thinning
Fact: This is a common misconception. On the contrary, hair & scalp needs to be washed on a regular basis to keep it clean and healthy. If you use the right products, then you can maintain a healthy scalp and strengthen your hair.
Myth 2: Hair loss is permanent
Fact: Hair thinning can occur due to various reasons – an unhealthy diet, stress, excessive styling or health conditions. Not all are permanent hair loss. You need to have a professional diagnosis to check for any underlying medical condition. Unless the hair loss is due to genetic predisposition; then it can be permanent. So, you can consult a trichologist at the earliest and find the root of the problem. If you are facing permanent hair loss, then there are multiple options available in this day and age. Permanent hair loss is not something that needs to be endured!
Myth 3: Women with thin or delicate hair face hair thinning.
Fact: The texture of hair does not indicate the possibility of hair thinning or hair loss. There are many factors like stress, genetics, hormonal imbalance, anaemia, PCOS and such that can trigger hair thinning. So, it’s important to find the underlying cause since hair thinning does happen with just women with thin or delicate hair.
Myth 4: Hair thinning can occur due to the consumption of birth control pills
Fact: This is somewhat true since birth control pills can provoke thinning and in some cases, hair loss. But this cannot be generalised as it’s not always the case. Also, the good news is, in most cases even if so, it is reversible. It is important to know that not all women who are taking birth control pills will face thinning hair and if they do, the degree will vary. Moreover, birth control pills can speed up the process of hair loss, if baldness runs in your family. But again, this is not always true. There is almost always another underlying condition that is aggravating the concern.
Myth 5: Diet does not make a difference
Fact: Diet has a significant impact on hair thinning! You need to make sure that your diet is high on protein since hair is made of natural protein- Keratin. If you incorporate loads of protein in your diet, then it can make your hair healthy and shiny. So, high protein foods like soy, lentils and beans can show improvement. Many Hair foods which contain crucial vitamins and minerals contribute to beautiful, thick hair.
Myth 6: Hair regrowth can happen with supplements
Fact: Though supplements are harmless, there is no evidence that one pill will boost hair growth. A well-balanced diet and responsible lifestyle, along with doctor prescribed supplements can be a good thing for your hair. Just supplements alone won’t help.
Myth 7: Only ageing can cause hair thinning
Fact: We hate to burst the bubble but there is really no one age at which people start losing hair or face hair thinning. If it is in your genes, then it may even begin in your teens. But the good news is, hair thinning is chronic and progressive, so it gives you some signs. Menopause is the age when the female hormone starts dipping down and there are hormonal fluctuations that can impact hair, so it is must to rule out the changes in menopausal age group. In Indian ladies ,menopause does set at around 40. Keep an eye out and take professional assistance.
Myth 8: Expose your hair to the sun much and your hair will grow thin
Fact: This is a traditional tale in many circles. Sunlight is actually a much-needed element as it provides the hair-health-boosting Vitamin D. While you can protect your skin and hair from very harsh sunlight while out, it’s not a proven fact that exposure to sunlight is the cause of hair thinning.
Myth 9: Getting a haircut frequently can prevent hair thinning
Fact: Hair thinning cannot be tackled by just going for frequent haircuts. It is a good idea to trim your hair once in a while, as it helps to get rid of split ends and makes the hair more manageable. But this cannot stop hair thinning that may be triggered by other factors which have been discussed above.
Myth 10: Blow drying causes hair thinning.
Fact: Excessive usage of blow dryers, straighteners and other such instruments can cause hair damage in the long term, due to the heat being applied on the hair shaft, also pulling at it during the process. Excessive heat can surely cause some concerns! Moderate blow drying and styling is something that all women indulge in regularly. There is no scientific evidence that establishes that blow drying your hair can lead to hair thinning! Using the device at a cooler setting, not pointing it directly at the roots or at a single spot for long, may be some practices that can be adopted if you are worried about the usage anyhow!
Advanced technologies have been pioneered that help restore the hair to it’s to original strength, for those who face hair thinning. Organic and natural treatment using the plant stem cell technology containing extracts from Swiss Apple stem cell, Pea sprout stem cell and Argan stem cell, is the best available solution today for hair thinning. Plant stem cell technology aims to slow down and reduce the ageing process by working on stem cells within the dermal and epidermal layers of the skin.
Hope this blog has given you fair clarity on the myths you have heard about female hair thinning! Do read up on hair loss, female pattern thinning and treatments to learn more on the subject. Some small changes to your lifestyle and hair care routine may in itself help you to stay away from hair thinning and hair loss.
If you do suspect that you are facing hair thinning, it would be most advisable to pay a visit to a trichologist. Trichology exists so that you stay clear of all your hair problems and worries!

All you need to know about Thyroid & Hair Loss
Hair is body’s barometer. Have you heard? Scientists strongly feel that animals can sense changes in the environment before humans. Your hair too behaves somewhat in a similar fashion. As in, even before you realize an imbalance within your body, your hairs have already taken note of it and started shooting across signals to you. All that you need to do is, listen to the radars coming up above from your head.
Let’s take and talk one at a time. A growing concern among the masses in recent times, 7 letters from the alphabet, countless health hazards that it can bring along, starts with T, ends with D. Any guesses? Right! Smart audience indeed! And for the smarter who missed the title of this blog post, we reveal it again – T H Y R O I D!
Let’s crack this step by step. What is Thyroid?
The thyroid gland is located in the neck and secretes mainly two hormones: thyroxin (T4) and tri-iodothyronine (T3). Both the hormones contain iodine and are produced from the amino acid tyrosine. These are metabolism-regulating hormones.
You will come across thyroid imbalance of two kinds – Hypothyroidism & Hyperthyroidism
The under-activity of the thyroid gland is called Hypothyroidism. It can lead to diffuse hair loss, brittle hair and nails, dry skin, lethargy, slow speech and weight gain. In some severe cases of hypothyroidism, the eyebrows are also affected and may begin to disappear.
Overproduction of thyroid hormones is referred to as Hyperthyroidism and it leads to diffuse hair loss, oily skin, weight loss, increased appetite, hyperactivity, excessive sweating, rapid heartbeat, muscle weakness, fatigue and beady eyes.
What’s the link between Hair & Thyroid?
The daily activity of the hair follicles is fuelled by the gland. The thyroid hormones play a significant role in regulating the hair growth cycle, apart from being a key element needed for new hair growth. An imbalance, either which way, thus has a direct connection to your hair.
The long and short of this story being the threat to your hairs and health. Whether it is hypo or hyper, your hair is not going to like either of the thyroid conditions and is bound to leave you!
Is this hair loss different from
Female Pattern Thinning
(FPT)?
Yes. It is. FPT is mostly visible at the crown of the head, or with noticeable thinning on top of the scalp. In case of Thyroid Hair loss, it’s typically diffuse in nature and involves the whole scalp.
Going back to where we started – Hair is your body’s barometer – So how do you spot the thyroid imbalance through your hair? What should you watch out for?Take hair fall seriously
Hair cells are some of the fastest growing cells in the body and its growth is affected when your body is under stress or in crisis. The enzymes secreted during a hormonal disorder change the hair-producing testosterone to dihydrotestosterone or DHT which attacks the hair follicles and makes hair brittle.
In the case of thyroid imbalance, hair cells are affected and this results in retarded growth and inferior hair quality. Sometimes, hair loss may stem from medicines taken to address the thyroid-related problem. If you are taking levothyroxine as your thyroid hormone replacement and still losing hair, you may need to take action. Prolonged or excessive hair loss may be a side effect of these drugs too. And this needs professional diagnosis and guidance. Once you spot the signs, it’s time to seek professional help; the earlier the better.
In simple words, these are the thyroid-related signs you need to watch out for:
(A) Diffuse Hair loss
(B) Poor hair texture
(C) Dry and lanky hair
(D) Brittle hair and nails
(E) Disappearing eyebrows
(F) Weight loss/gain
(G) Hair Thinning
(H) Retarded growth and inferior hair quality
Get professional help
While some of these listed signs are very visible to you, concerns like hair thinning are not something that you can spot on your own (until it reaches a progressed state). There comes the requirement of a professional to analyse the condition, take your medical history into cognizance, diagnose it for you using appropriate expertise and technology.
In recent times, various advanced technologies have been pioneered to help diagnose hair and scalp problems. Trichologists use various means such as capilloscopy, trichogram & such other advanced tech to study the hair & scalp. Treatments, customised diet-changes and supplements are then suggested to solve the concerns.

Is Your Modern Lifestyle Ruining Your Hair?
Do you know the hair on your head is amazingly strong? A single hair can support up to 100g in weight and a whole head of hair could support up to 12 tonnes — the equivalent of two African elephants! And did you know? Hair is as strong as a wire of iron. It rips after applying a force equivalent to 60kg, only after it has stretched itself to about 70 per cent. Therefore, brittle hair could mean a significant problem.
The secret of this strength lies in the complex woven structure of each strand. Hair is a compact mass of keratinized cells that push up through the follicle from the hair bulb in the scalp, at an approximate rate of half an inch per month. The only part of our body that grows at this rate! Of course, this is incased of healthy hair. But despite its tenacity, our hair finds it hard to stand up to the wear and tear of modern life.
While genes & hereditary traits do play a part in your hair’s health or lack of it, much is accelerated by your daily lifestyle habits. Here are some daily habits that cause serious damage to your hair!
1) Smoking
Smoking is often spoken in connection with hair loss and going bald. While some may relate to it, some may not. It has been proven that it is one of the fastest accelerators for hair loss, especially in those who are already predisposed to the condition. Smoking affects the normal oxygen saturation levels restricts blood vessels throughout the body. This also affects the skin and hair. Hair follicles need a fresh blood supply to stay strong & healthy. Slow flow makes hair regrowth harder. So when hair falls off, they do not grow back. Further, the tobacco enters the skin, bloodstream and the hair follicle leading to hair thinning and eventually hair loss. The process of smoking damages the dermal hair papilla. Smoking-induced damage to the DNA of the hair follicle eventually leads to hair loss. Quitting to smoke can save your hair and life, simply put.
2) Travel impact
While most of us commute to work or college every day, our work often takes us far from home. Our hair may be the first to react to CLIMATIC CHANGES. If you are used to the humid, muggy weather of Surat, the dry heat of the North will take its toll on you and your hair. So, if you find your hair behaving or looking a little strange, you could safely blame it on the weather. Travelling in air-conditioned buses and trains and living in the comfort of A/C hotel rooms might add that extra luxury to your trip but it can take its toll on your hair due to the increased humidity levels. If you find that your hair has suddenly become sticky and hard to dress, the problem could lie with the water you are using for the wash. HARD WATER causes calcium and magnesium deposits to cling to the hair shaft. If you are prone to extensive travel, you will need to take extra precautions to take care of your hair’s health.
3) Unhealthy Diet
The current obsession with losing weight might wreak havoc on your hair. Skipping meals, intake of insufficient nutrients and unhealthy eating habits affect our hair and health in more ways than one. Our hair is often the first to be affected by a lack of some nutrient. At times, it may be the only sign that something is wrong. It is said that your hair is your body’s barometer. Things that are not easily detected about your health, a show on your hair. So, we may feel quite healthy, but if we find our hair suddenly looking dull or falling excessively, we should not ignore it. It could just be our body telling us to eat better. Since our hair is made up primarily of proteins, make sure you include enough proteins in your diet. Our hair also requires minerals like zinc, magnesium, iron etc. in the right proportions. Hair foods and supplements (as directed by a Trichologist) can help maintain healthy hair.
4) Fashion Stress
Tough as it is, hair cannot cope with some of today’s beauty treatments and most of the commercial procedures can ruin your hair.
Hot rollers and dryers destroy the hair’s elasticity and strength.
Having hot showers & mishandling wet hair ruins your hair. Hot water dehydrates the strands leading to dry, brittle hair that’s more prone to snap and fall out.
Metal combs and fine bristled brushes displace the cuticle plates, making hair dull.
Permanent chemical dyes damage hair by breaking through the cuticle is to invade the cortex. Petroleum-based jellies, sprays and permanent waves depend on distorting the hair’s keratin structure to succeed.
Chemical processes such as perming, colouring, bleaching and straightening, remove all protein and moisture out of hair, leaving it fragile, porous, brittle; the scalp irritated and flaky. When you want to change the shape of your hair, you apply tremendous heat so that the protein of which the hair is composed, is converted into cysteine, and then manipulated into a certain look, before changing back. However, in the process, some amount of cysteic acid is generated and this damages your hair.
5) Mental Stress
Hair follicles are surrounded by and invaded by a network of nerve cells. Potentially, any adverse chemical activity in the nervous system might send unwanted signals to the hair follicles. Long-term chronic stress, depression and sudden intense action may promote the onset of telogen effluvium. Hair loss may develop and become noticeable a few weeks to four months after the initial stress episode. Sleep deprivation is also a key factor leading to hair loss. Stress leads to sleep deprivation in many and hair loss thereon…
Being aware of what your lifestyle does to you, your hair & health is important. Take a step back, assess your lifestyle and see where you need to bring in the change. Take professional help. Consult a Trichologist who will invest time in understanding your lifestyle, your diet, your needs, study your hair & scalp condition and help you on the right path forward.
RichFeel has unique diagnostic techniques that can reach to the source of the problem and the hair doctors can help you decipher them, and take corrective action. Some of the screening tests conducted are as below:
Hair Analysis – Trichoanalysis or Trichogram gives an absolute quantification of abnormal or normal hair fall. They analyse the keratin levels, the density of hair, hair root and hair shaft condition.
HTMA – Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis measures the levels and relative ratios of nutrients and toxic materials found in hair. Understanding the results with the help of a doctor lets you customize your healing regimen (including what you eat & corrections to lifestyle) to understand and rightly address your own body’s biochemistry.
Capilloscopy – It determines the physical state of hair and scalp. It is a non-invasive study that helps to understand the condition of the scalp and hair follicles. It can indicate the sebum activity and condition of the hair follicle. Understanding this test right and taking corrective action needs professional expertise. RichFeel’s trichologists play a significant role in this process.
Clean, good lifestyle choices are essential for healthy hair and a healthy you. Sometimes, owing to circumstances, you may be forced into certain practices. Taking due care, precautionary care at that can help you keep control of your hair. Go for a Hair Check-Up once every 6 mths to stay clear of hair worries. Healthy Hair. Happy You!

Why you should consult a Hair Doctor for Laser Hair Removal Treatment
Laser Hair Reduction is perhaps the most popular treatment, in recent times, for getting rid of unwanted body hair. Gone are the days when the only means to achieving this was through shaving, threading, waxing and other such traditional methods. There is due merit in the usage of laser technology for hair reduction and there is a growing awareness on the subject.
Laser hair reduction is rapidly gaining ground and becoming popular both with men and women owing to the host of benefits that it offers. On the flipside, the treatment has become so popular that random spas, salons and non-clinical setups have started offering the same as a service. Now, here’s where the problem crops up…
While this technology makes for some impressive results that are long lasting, if administered wrong you could end up with some serious concerns such as burns and scars! It is hence very crucial where and by whom you get the treatment done. Let us understand this better.
First and foremost, let’s clarify the most common myth about laser hair reduction.
MYTH – It is just a cosmetic procedure and there is no need to consult a doctor for it.
FACT – It is a procedure that needs cognizance & analysis of one’s medical history! It is NOT a mere COSMETIC procedure.
Let’s have a quick recap of how laser hair reduction works.
Laser hair reduction is a procedure where a certified technician, under the guidance of a certified trichologist, uses a laser that directly targets the hair follicles to efficiently destroy them, with no harm to the surrounding skin.
The process starts with a detailed consultation with the doctor wherein your medical history is discussed in depth, your hair growth is analysed and a good understanding of your lifestyle is drawn. The area from where you want your hair removed is examined – the texture, colour of the hair and other relevant details.
This consultation is the key. It helps the doctor, technician and most importantly – you, understand the path forward. The number of sittings needed, energy to be used to work on the hair follicle and the treatment schedule – all of this depends on the findings of this consultation.
Here’s why you need a Hair Doctor to guide your Laser Hair Reduction:
1) Medical expertise
A Hair Doctor – a Trichologist – is a person who specialises in the science of the structure, growth cycle, function and problems of the human hair. This means they are the most qualified to analyse & understand an individual’s hair growth pattern and guide you for a Laser Hair Reduction treatment. As mentioned above, consultation prior to the treatment is the key to getting the desired results. And this is possible only with a doctor involved. Who knows hair better than a hair doctor?!
2) Importance of Consultation
Medical history is very important to be looked into! Some disorders & medications have relative contraindications to Laser. A salon or spa employee will never ever be able to understand this. Your health is at stake then. At the cost of repetition, laser hair removal is NOT a cosmetic session. It needs professionals trained specifically for it, with needed medical expertise.
3) Safe & Hygienic Clinic
Laser hair reduction needs to be done in a clinical environment, with utmost care & hygiene, using the right technology. It just cannot be done sitting on a salon chair or at home. There are handheld devices being sold in the market and online for the purpose, urging you to buy & use it at home ‘with ease’. But this would be most unwise. If administered without training and control, these devices can damage your hair and skin forever.
4) Use of right technology, the right way
The treatment needs to be performed by a trained technician under the supervision of a doctor. You need to approach a Clinic with a doctor who can guide you on the best technology for the purpose and ensure it’s done right. These days there are very advanced technologies in use for laser hair removal. So much so that the ‘heat’ element in itself is done away with, leaving the patient with a cool feeling! Cool Brush Technology is one such, which you SHOULD explore while considering laser hair reduction. Those who are intensely trained for it alone can handle the technology safely, to give the best results.
5) Result-oriented approach, with your well being in mind
A doctor, as mentioned above, takes into cognizance your overall medical history and lifestyle, including your diet, before leading you forward for laser hair reduction. This helps in achieving the best of results while ensuring your well being. It’s fairly clear how important the role of a hair doctor is in the process of laser hair reduction treatment. We do need to move with the times, take advantage of the conveniences that science & technology have brought along, but with due care and responsibility.
Go for laser hair reduction! There is no doubt that it is THE best choice as a permanent solution for unwanted body hair hassle. But, do it responsibly.
Go to a reputed Clinic, that has trained & certified hair doctors to consult, the best & latest of technologies handled by professional technicians and the right environment to carry out the treatment sessions in a safe manner. This would be most efficient, result-oriented and will deliver on every occasion.

Top 10 Questions on Hair Systems answered!
As we know, hair loss is widespread, bordering on ‘common occurrence’, but having said that, it is a very personal experience for everyone, causing a lot of anxiety. It is sometimes termed the ‘cosmetic death’ for both men and women and impacts their self-confidence and pride. Every person feels differently, and the experience is unique – starting with hair thinning, to diffuse hair loss, female or male pattern baldness or even alopecia. The key is to watch out for the signs.
Earlier, people didn’t have many options to cover their receding hairlines, thin hair volume or baldness. But now, due to technological advancements, there are many hair restoration techniques and camouflaging options available.
One of the most popular choices is the non- surgical hair replacement system. It is incredibly useful and can transform the way you look and feel. It is important to choose the perfect hair system that suits your needs, suits your lifestyle and the look that you want. Our earlier blog on this topic, The ultimate guide to choosing the perfect non-surgical hair system will help you make an ideal choice for yourself.
While you are considering hair systems as an option, lets quickly run through some questions which we may be clouding your mind. These are the most frequently asked questions on hair systems!
1) I don’t want anyone to stare at me or know that I am wearing a hair system. Is it possible?
Nowadays, hair systems have advanced so much technologically and artistically, that they are impossible to detect. Moreover, nowadays the base material being used is so light and breathable, that it looks and feels like skin, with hair coming right out of the scalp. The latest derma base hair systems are feather light, skin friendly, cause no discomfort and are extremely easy to maintain. Skilled hair specialists can match the hair systems to your existing style, say as per your look from a photo even, and accordingly give you a maintenance plan. So yes! It is possible to have absolutely undetectable hair systems.
2) How many hair systems will I need?
The number ideally depends on the type of hair system that you use and your lifestyle. If you have a very physically active daily routine, you would require to maintain it more frequently. Some hair clinics recommend starting with two, rotating them; wear a fresh one when other is in maintenance. Maintaining a hair system is very important to ensure longevity. So, yes, two hair systems at a time would thus be most ideal.
3) How often do I need to change my hair system?
A hair system should be replaced before it wears out. Good maintenance of the systems helps with longevity, but wear & tear comes into play in time. When the base frays, it may become visible to others – which you don’t want. Regular maintenance visits with a professional hair stylist, specifically trained to handle hair systems, would help the process.
4) Why is it necessary to use custom-made hair systems?
A custom-made hair system measures your head and creates a mould accordingly. It can be created strand by strand to match your density and hairline. Moreover, a custom-made system can be cut, coloured and styled as per your skin tone, the shape of your face and to suit your lifestyle. You can even choose a system with grey hair!
5) Will I be able to style or blow dry my hair system?
Absolutely. You can style your hair system the way you want it. A professional hair stylist, trained to handle hair systems, will help you style it right. They will also ensure that your own hair is also cut and styled to appear uniform, along with the hair system.
6) How much maintenance is really required?
Maintenance of hair systems depends upon how you care for it on day to day basis. Moreover, it also depends on the products you use and the condition of your scalp and hair, for instance, oily scalp. They are extremely easy to look after. You need to simply shampoo, condition, comb, style, use gel to perfect your new look. As mentioned above, your hair systems will last longer if you maintain it well. To get more maintenance tips, click here.
7) How are hair systems made of human hair different from that made with synthetic hair?
The difference is exactly that. Hair systems made with 100% human hair is ‘like your own’, easy to maintain, style and completely natural. Synthetic hair systems are mass produced, have limitations in terms of customisation and personalisation and are very much detectable! The material can also irritate your hair & scalp. It’s hence surely not something you should go for if you are wanting a natural look & feel.
8) Will using hair system & attachments damage my existing hair & scalp, and lead to further hair loss?!
A hair system that is customised to your hair & scalp condition, your lifestyle and needs, under due consultation with a Hair Doctor, will ensure that no such issue ever occurs! The quality of the attachments/ accessories used for the hair system is also very important. It needs to be very good quality that will not damage your hair and scalp. Buying systems off-the-shelf would not be advisable at all, in this background. Go to a reputed Hair Clinic, consult a specialised and go by their advice; for not just which system to choose for yourself, but also their advice on maintaining the system. A system that is kept clean and maintained well will last long and will not cause any concern to your hair & scalp health.
9) Can I purchase a hair system that I don’t need to remove every night? Can I sleep with my system on?
This is something which you can decide, in consultation with a hair doctor. You will need to decide whether you plan to take the system off every night or keep it on for weeks together. The base, type of hair system and accessories for attachment will accordingly be advised and also your maintenance schedule fixed accordingly.
And yes, you can sleep with your system on. You can take a shower, go for a swim and gym as well! The more advanced the hair system, the more you are at ease with your lifestyle. And for a hassle-free sleep in your system, our tip would be to use silk pillowcases instead of cotton ones!
10) How easy would it be for my hair system to fall off?!
A hair system that is properly attached using quality accessories, that is most suitable for your needs, will withstand your daily activities. The key factors here are what kind of system you have opted for, where you have chosen to get it from and what attachment accessories have been used. Go with a reputed clinic for your hair system and you have nothing to worry about. You can swim, take a shower, exercise at a gym and walk through a thunderstorm without worrying about your hair system!
Choosing the right hair system is the key here. It will help you not just maintain but enhance your lifestyle. It needs a careful study of your hair & scalp condition, a good understanding of your lifestyle, by a professional – a hair doctor. One of the biggest differences between wigs & toupees and evolved hair systems, is that hair systems are absolutely undetectable and as natural as can be while letting you lead the lifestyle you aspire. Customised and personalised hair systems, styled just for you, is what you should go for.
Watch this space for more guidance on what to look for, which hair system to buy and most importantly, from where.

Women and Balding: Expectation vs Reality
Look in the mirror. Are you noticing hair getting thinner and thinner? Does it feel like the top of your head is going bald? Are you seeing too many strands of your hair left behind in your comb, on your pillowcase and everywhere around?!
Do not neglect these signs because these are indicators of Female Pattern Thinning.
It is a common misconception that its only men who go bald; that women may face hair loss but can never go bald. We know for sure that this expectation is far from reality!
Nowadays Trichologists are seeing many women losing hair at a very young age, and an alarming rate of women patients who are facing advanced stages of hair thinning. In India or elsewhere in the world, there is a considerable amount of importance attached to women’s hair. The hair care industry has built itself carefully around this, and most hair care products are designed for women. There is no doubt that there is a social norm or belief, that a woman’s hair is one of her most significant assets. Although short hair is often more practical, as well as very chic, many women hesitate to let go of those long curls. In traditional households, anything shorter than shoulder length hair is a strict no. Given the importance of hair, women justifiably panic when they start having hair loss. Going bald is a thought that a woman can perhaps not even comprehend in her mind! Let’s dive into this topic and understand the reality of hair thinning and balding in women.
Do you know male pattern thinning and female pattern thinning are different?
In male pattern thinning, hair becomes U-shaped, where thinning starts on the crown and advances to thin at the top of the head. In women, Androgenetic Alopecia appears as diffuse hair loss or thinning in the front-vortex region (i.e., on top of the frontal area) and the frontal hairline is spared in most cases. Female pattern thinning is gradual, and hair loss happens at a slower rate than in men. So, it occurs much later in life.
When and why it starts
The crux of the problem lies with our hormones. Women have male hormone Androgen which is responsible for growing hair all over the body and the female hormone Oestrogen. Androgenetic Alopecia occurs in men who are genetically predisposed to this kind of baldness in which androgen destroys the hair follicles. Fortunately for women, the hormone Oestrogen counteracts the adverse action of Androgen but in times when the Oestrogen level fluctuates, Androgen attacks the hair follicles, and hair begins to thin.
For example, before menopause, when the hormone Oestrogen is high, it will have a protective effect against the small amount of testosterone that women also produce. After menopause, the hormone Oestrogen slows down or stops altogether which results in Female Pattern Thinning in women. The other causes of such thinning are stress, use of oral contraceptives, childbirth, procedures such as hysterectomy or hormone-replacement therapy. Abnormally high levels of the male hormone, Androgen, can also lead to a violent attack on the hair follicles causing Female Pattern Thinning.
Symptoms of female pattern thinning
Female pattern thinning causes excessive oiliness of the scalp and face, tender and painful scalp, and growth of hair on the face and skin.
Does the hair thin faster in women?
The overall rate of hair loss varies from person to person and some may even have spontaneous but temporary hair re-growth. Underlying systemic reasons like Thyroid problems, PCOD, fibroids etc are known to worsen the thinning quickly. Some women can take 25 years to reach baldness, and others might take just to go extensively bald. Hormone production varies with the season as well. Testosterone production increases and decreases with seasons. (Testosterone, when converted to DHT, adversely affects the hair follicles). Further, women have a monthly hormone cycle as well.
What are the treatment options?
In male pattern thinning, areas of skin may become utterly devoid of hair, but in female Pattern Thinning, excessive thinning occurs and creates thinner hair fibres. There is less destruction of the hair follicles in specific regions of the skin. This means that regenerating your hair is more comfortable to achieve for women.
You can’t prevent female pattern baldness. But there are ways and means to treat it and protect the hairs from breakage & further loss.
Treatment options for female pattern baldness include,1) Minoxidil
Minoxidil is known for its hair growth stimulating actions when applied topically and is mainly prescribed to cure hair loss in people under the age of 40 years. Although minoxidil is used to encourage hair growth the use of this medication does not cure baldness. It is only a temporary fix. In the long run, this can cause systemic side effects.
2) Hormonal treatment
Hormones that block the effects of androgens are also often used to prevent the progression of hair loss in female pattern baldness, but certain medications should be avoided in women in reproductive age since it has side effects. For instance, Aldactone, popularly used as anti-androgens, cause discomfort like mastodynia (pain & engorgement of breasts).
3) Natural Treatment
In women, natural treatment for baldness is preferable as hormone replacement therapy has side effects. Dong Quai Complex made from a plant called Dong Quai and Mega Femme tablets which are made from Peruvian herb – Both have natural estrogen and show useful results when hair thinning occurs due to low levels of estrogen. A professional hair doctor can guide on natural supplements that can aid the process. Self-medication and experiments are best avoided. Some foods such as Soy, Flax seeds, Walnuts and Yam exhibit oestrogenic properties and offer great support to baldness treatment.
4) Hair Transplant
Yes. Hair transplant IS an option for women suffering from female pattern baldness. It is more a permanent solution for someone with irreversible hair loss and thinning.
Hair transplantation is a surgical procedure that moves hair and hair follicles from a part of your body called the donor site to the bald or balding part called the recipient site. It needs to be handled at a reputed clinic, by a skilled surgeon, in a safe & hygienic operation theatre, with best-in-class technology, to yield the best results.
A good example is RichFeel, who are pioneers in the field of Hair Transplant. Through its alliance with Ailesbury Hair Clinic of London, RichFeel introduced AHI technique of Hair transplant in India. It is the most advanced technique of hair transplant available today. Click here to know more about it. Such clinics also offer the No-Shave option on consultation, which most women opt for.
You can read our various blogs on hair transplant to understand all about it.
Female pattern thinning cannot be prevented but can be controlled with the treatments mentioned above. It would be wise to go for a Hair check-up at least once every 6 months, to identify problems, if any, track the course and take preventive measures to take control of your hair’s health. Meet a Trichologist, a hair doctor, for a complete analysis of your hair & scalp, reading it together with your medical case history, diagnose the condition to guide you on the right way forward.
So yes, the reality is that women do face the challenge of balding. But it is not something that needs to be endured.
If you are a woman and you suspect your hair growing thin, or spot any of the discussed symptoms, don’t be upset or lose your self-confidence. Trichology exists so that you can stay confident. Get in touch with a Hair Doctor and leave your hair worries behind.

Secret to Shiny Hair, Revealed!
The next time you glimpse at a beautiful head of gleaming, glistening, shiny curls on a giant billboard or the cover of a major magazine, think again. Those shiny haired beauties required a hidden horde of hairstylists, photographers and tons of hot tools to create their look. Is it possible to have gorgeous shiny hair, even if you aren’t scheduled to appear on a billboard anytime soon? Not everyone has access to a team of expert stylists, right? While there are some instant shine formulas available, they can offer only a temporary fix. Due to their very nature, many instant shine formulas can’t sustain a healthy shine.
Factors that affect the shine of your hair
Naturally shiny hair is a result of many factors that include proper nutrition and vitamin supplements along with daily exercise, enough sleep, stress reduction habits and drinking enough water.
Other factors directly related to your hair’s shine potential include the overall condition of your hair, hereditary factors, the texture and colour of your hair and the products you use.
Perfectly straight, healthy, moisture-enriched hair that is a dark colour is the best candidate for strength, shimmer, and shine. Curly or wavy light coloured hair that is overly dry or damaged has a poor shine potential.
Shine is created when the light is reflected across the hair cuticles.
Naturally straight hair has more reflective cuticle layers, and as a rule, it tends to have a nice layer of natural hair oil produced by the hair follicle sebaceous gland. Vibrant dark hair offers a continual and robust shine path. The best reflection occurs when the cuticles have a healthy coating of Sebum, which is a natural hair oil.
Dull hair that does not shine is usually lacking in the necessary moisture needed to reflect light. Hair that is deficient in moisture and natural oils will absorb the light rather than reflect it.Hair that is curly or wavy produces less glimmer and less shine. Curls and waves don’t reflect shine, because they break up the smooth outer surface of the cuticle and prevent light from shining without interruption. Hair with the presence of fewer quantities of natural sebum will have the most difficulty in generating a solid shine.
Why is sebum so crucial for making the hair shine?
Sebum not only provides natural shimmer potential to the hair, but it also protects against moisture loss from the cuticles. Sebum can be damaged or wholly stripped from the hair due to a wide range of internal and external factors including hormonal imbalances, effects of prescription drugs, use of harsh shampoos, chemical abuse, improper use of hot styling tools, weather and the environment. The result is hair that is dry, dull, and lacks shine.
A hidden shine stealer can also be located in your tap. Mineral loaded hard water can build up on the unsuspecting cuticles. If you have tried everything to increase the shine of your hair with limited results, consider that your water may be causing your hair to become lifeless. You could switch to mineral water, or a cheaper solution would be to mix a bit of lime with the rinse water. This would neutralize the effect of mineral deposits.
Follow these simple tips, and you should notice an improvement.
Shampoo only as often as necessary, with a moisture-enhancing formula designed for your hair type and texture. Strive to maintain your hair’s natural oil mantle.
Pamper and re-hydrate the hair strands with regularly scheduled deep conditioning treatments. For Indian hair, coconut oil is best suitable.
Always do a final rinse with a cold-water spray to naturally smoothen the hair cuticles and enhance the shine potential.
Gently pat hair dry. Never pull or rub the hair with a coarse towel.
Use a cold hair dryer while drying your hair.
You should protect hair from damaging environmental factors and sun.
Follow a diet and hair care regimen that help promote good hair health.
A Hair Check-up with a Trichologist or a Hair Doctor once every 6 months can help you ensure healthy hair always. Hair Doctors understand your lifestyle, diet habits and also your medical history, and provide you the right guidance to stay clear of hair worries.

Understand Why You Need Multiple Sittings Of Laser Hair Reduction
You may have heard or read that Laser Hair Reduction doesn’t happen at one shot and needs multiple sittings. It’s true! And you should know why it is so!
We are going to help you understand here today why it is so, the science behind this need and how to get the most desired results with Laser Hair Removal Technology.
Laser Hair Reduction, is, without doubt, the best possible option for you to get rid of unwanted body hair, permanently. It beats out the traditional methods of shaving, waxing or threading any day.
You shave, but again in a few days, there is a crop of new growth which is prickly and unbidden. If you are someone who waxes by practice, you know how frustrating the wait for hair to grow ‘just the right length’ can be. Waxing or shaving regularly becomes a chore. It’s frustrating and it comes in the way of your routine. The time & money you spend on this fortnightly/monthly temporary fix can surely be utilised better! These conventional hair removal methods are tiresome; more & more people are opting for the modern painless laser treatment for hair removal. Laser Hair Removal treatment is a reliable and valid method because it promises a permanent reduction of hair growth anywhere in the body.
Let’s now address a commonly asked question: Does hair grow back after laser treatment? Yes. But wait, that’s not the whole answer! The full answer lies in the science behind this.
BECAUSE EVERY SINGLE HAIR HAS ITS OWN LIFE CYCLE!
The most common misconception is that laser hair reduction needs just one sitting to get rid of all unwanted hair. And the frequent feedback you may get from people who have just about started laser hair reduction treatment is – my hair is growing back! You start to worry when you see some hair after one sitting of laser hair removal treatment. You begin to question its claims of removing hair permanently. All this will be clear if we understand how our hair grows on our body and scalp. Let us journey with our hair from its birth in the hair follicle to its final length.
Every single hair goes through a 3-phase life cycle, and not all are in one phase at the same time! Here are the three phases:
1. Anagen Phase: This is the growing phase where cell division takes place. The ‘baby’ hair grows, sustained by nourishment from the papilla. The older cells, which are dead, are pushed outward and become keratinised and lasts for about three years. On average, 85% of follicles are in the anagen phase at a given time.
2. Catagen Phase: This is a transitional phase which lasts for about a month and marks the end of the growth period. The hair has now come of age. The hair follicle shrinks, the lower part is destroyed, and the dermal papilla breaks away to rest below. On average, 1% of follicles are in this stage at a given time.
3. Telogen Phase: This is the final phase or the falling phase, which lasts for about three months. It is now time for the strand of hair to say goodbye and fall off. The circle starts again, and hair follicle then re-enters the anagen phase. At a given time, approximately 15% of all hair is in this phase.
SO, HERE’S WHY MULTIPLE SITTINGS ARE REQUIRED FOR THE RESULTS TO BE VISIBLE
Laser hair reduction process focuses light energy on individual hair follicles, targeting the dark pigment in them – in the Anagen phase, and destroys them. But, due to the growth cycle, not all hair is at the same point of the life cycle. Hence, some hair follicles do not get damaged by the laser during the particular sitting and will continue to grow. So, you need a series of laser sessions for permanent hair reduction to target individual hairs at different growth cycles.
Over the course of the treatment, with multiple sittings, you will find that there is a significant reduction in the number of hair-producing follicles. It is thus right to say that laser hair removal is permanent hair reduction. With each passing session/sitting, you are in fact permanently attacking & reducing the number of hair-producing follicles.
Each session will work on the balance of follicles in their growth cycle for smooth and hair-free skin for the long term. With every siting, the diameter of hair becomes thinner, density becomes lesser and eventually leads to permanent removal of hair. After six to eight treatments, we can see a marked reduction in hair. If there is any regrowth, it can be managed with touch up treatments in every six to twelve months. Most patients do experience some fine re-growth, perhaps after a year or so later. Typically one maintenance sitting per year helps maintain excellent results.
This is because the growth rate varies from person to person, his/her age, his/her diet etc. There are approximately 25 hair growth cycles during a man or woman’s life. Hair grows more quickly in summer than in winter, and faster in the young than in the old. The shedding of hair, which continues throughout life, is greatest in winter. Further, one experiences hormonal changes throughout one’s lifetime, that has a direct impact on one’s hair growth cycle. The hair type and skin tone can also affect hair removal.
Due to these reasons, you need a Hair Doctor to carefully distinguish the hairs between various growth cycles, and prescribe you the right treatment, to give you long lasting desired results. More so, it is a myth that this treatment is just a cosmetic procedure and there is no need to consult a doctor for the same! Medical history is very important to be looked into! Some disorders & medications have relative contraindications to Laser.
With extremely advanced technologies such as the Cool Brush Technology, pioneered in India by RichFeel, at affordable costs, laser hair reduction has become easily accessible to all, and absolutely pain-free at that. How to use, wear and maintain Hair Systems
Hair loss is frustrating and a common occurrence which makes any person lose self-confidence and self-esteem. Hence, many people are searching for ways to restore their crowning glory and to get a natural look, with minimum pain. One of the popular options is your Non-Surgical Hair Replacement System. Don’t confuse hair systems with traditional wigs, which were easy to catch and never quite looked right! Today, hair systems have evolved and changed dramatically.
Materials are much more delicate and sophisticated and the hair used is human hair, which looks natural and incredible. Loss of hair and looks due to hair problems like MPT, FPT, due to chemotherapy and other medical issues, can be dealt with by the use of hair systems. Moreover, you can style the systems the way you want, choose any colour or length and customise it completely to give you a natural look.
Our blog “The ultimate guide to choose a perfect hair system” can help you decide on a Hair System that is suitable for you.
Once you have got yourself a hair system, you will need tips to use, wear and maintain it. Let us discuss them in detail.
1) Avoid Oxidation
Oxidation occurs when harmful UV rays turn the colour of the hair in the hair system to orange or red. This process is gradual, which can affect your natural look for the time spent outdoors. You can use products which contain UV protectors to block these rays. If you are going to spend a long time outdoors, then you can consider wearing a hat.
2) Shampooing and Conditioning Tips
If you shampoo your hair replacement system, it can do more harm than good. But, on the other hand, nobody wants to touch a dirty head, so shampooing is essential. So, how to solve the problem? Along with shampooing, we recommend daily conditioning of your hair system, which will help hydrate and strengthen the hair. Due to this, your hair in the hair system will be healthy and soft for an extended period.
Quick tips for conditioning
Do it daily and work on your hair (not scalp or base of hair system)
While showering, use a rinse out conditioner.
After showering, use a leave-in conditioner with sunscreen.
3) Clean your hair system effectively
Use your fingernail to flick the edge of hairpiece tape gently. Wash your head, hair and scalp at least two times. Soak hair system with a liquid solvent. Soaking times will depend on the adhesive and type of hair system. Some might require to soak only for 20 minutes while others would need 24 hours. After soaking your hair system, you remove and lay it where the hair will be in the bottom. Clean the lace by using a gentle brush and clean the skin areas by using a teaspoon. After washing, place the hair system back in the solvent for 2-3 minutes. Next, rinse your hair system with lukewarm water down the base. Finally, rewash the hair system by using a mild shampoo.
4) Maintain soft hair
Sebum is a semi-fluid secreted by the sebaceous gland that coats your naturally growing hair. Because of this, your hair feels oily if you do not wash for several days. A hair system with human hair consists of a small amount of sebum on the hair strands. But constant use will remove all the traces, and your hair system will become dry and brittle. To keep the hair soft you need to do more conditioning, use hair products that have sunscreen and air dry your hair.
5) Prevent hair loss
Friction and bacteria create a problem for your hair system. If you can avoid this trauma, then it can prevent hair loss from the system and keep it intact for a long time. Hair replacement systems lack sebum hence they are vulnerable to friction. If you use a satin pillowcase, not wear hats for a long time and avoid excess brushing, then it can reduce friction. Bacteria can lead to breakage, hence use a spray on, leave-in conditioner and shampoo that contain hydrolysed proteins to avoid build-up of bacteria.
Why you require regular maintenance visits
A beautiful hair system needs to be taken care of and styled correctly. It needs to be customised and fit as per your needs. That is why a professional hairdresser is needed, to help style it and make a difference. A regular salon technician who is not experienced with hair systems cannot give you a natural look. A well trained professional hairdresser will ensure that the hair system in sync with the natural hairs, style it the way it’s needed, to deliver an undetectable natural look & feel.
At RichFeel there is a team of Trichologists and Hairstylists to solve the irreversible balding problem through unique customised non-surgical Hair Replacement Systems.
The Hair doctor helps to analyse the condition of the scalp and once decided on a hair system, takes the measurement to fit the system accurately and correctly. The Hair Forever Hair System allows you to achieve a head full of Hair that looks natural & stylish and doesn’t restrict your lifestyle.
The Trichologist advice on the right choice of system for you, on the basis of hair & scalp condition and lifestyle, to deliver the result that would suit your expectations regarding age and style. Further, an appropriate treatment plan is formulated to ensure that the overall desired result is achieved. Hence, you can achieve the look you wish for and get an uncompromised result with the Non-surgical Hair replacement procedure. Moreover, the highly trained professional hairdressers know how hair systems work and how they need to style around it to make it look absolutely undetectable. They will take time and style the hair system perfect for you. Not just that, they also work with you privately to teach you how to take care of your systems and maintain the beauty for years to come. To know more about the Hair Forever Hair System, click here.

Test your hair, Know your body – RichFeel’s Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA)
How & what can hair tell you about your body? What does hair have to do with the minerals in your body? How can studying strands of hair help you in your body healing process? We are going to answer these questions here today.
We live in a modern world, with its fast-changing lifestyle norms, fashion, high stress and a fragile ecosystem – all of which have become modern-day maladies. All this results in mineral imbalance and a high level of toxicity in our body, and we are oblivious to it.
It wouldn’t be wrong to state that minerals are the most important constituent of every cell in our body since they are necessary for proper cellular function. Moreover, all bodily functions depend upon the mineral balance in the body and their action. Vitamins are required for every physical & biochemical process. However, vitamins cannot work unless minerals are present in the right proportions.
Minerals are needed for healing, and when the body has access to the necessary minerals, then tissue rebuilding occurs spontaneously. It hence becomes extremely relevant and crucial to understand the mineral balance in our body, identify shortfalls and address them on priority.
Thus, the mineral analysis is an essential tool for testing patients for imbalances, thus serving as an important diagnostic preventive method for a lot of our illnesses, right from aches & pains to conditions ranging from depression, behavioral disorders to cardiovascular and neurological diseases.
What Is the Role Of Hair In Mineral Analysis?
For mineral analysis of the body, hair is the best medium. It is an ideal tissue for sampling and testing.
Firstly, hair works best since it can be cut easily and painlessly and can be sent to the lab without special handling requirements. Secondly, if a sample is obtained correctly, then it can indicate mineral status and toxic metal accumulation following long term or even acute exposure.
A Hair test reveals intracellular activity, which cannot be seen through the blood and urine test. Hair is also a storage tissue and a tissue that the body uses for excreting excessive amounts of toxic metals. Therefore it is an excellent place to measure these items.
So, is Hair just of aesthetic appeal & importance? No!
Hair is the body’s barometer of its health, so if you have good hair, it simply means that you are healthy from within. Which brings us to one of the most sophisticated screening tests in preventive medicine – HTMA.
What Is
HTMA
?
The Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) was introduced in India for the first time by RichFeel, the name that’s synonymous with hair & scalp care in the country.
HTMA screens and measure the levels of 37 minerals in the hair tissue. Over the last 15 years, HTMA has been a useful analytical test to measure the mineral content of the hair and body in the United States of America. But people in India are fairly unaware of this amazing screening test.
The tests are performed with highly sophisticated detection equipment to achieve accurate and precise results. It provides a blueprint of the biochemistry occurring during the period of hair growth and development.
Importance Of Minerals For Hair
If you have the right balance of minerals in your body, then it will not only strengthen your physique but also support healthy hair. There are certain types of minerals crucial for healthy hair and aid in preventing hair loss.
Copper, iron, silicon and zinc are vital minerals that need to be in balance with each other. If one mineral is in excess then it can cause an imbalance in another. A trichologist can help understand the significance of this for your hair.
What Leads To Mineral Imbalance?
Diet – An unhealthy diet, through a high intake of refined and processed foods, alcohol and fad diets, can lead to a chemical imbalance. Benefits from a ‘healthy’ diet also depend on the soil in which the food was grown or the method in which it was prepared, so it may not give all the expected nutrients.
Stress – Physical or emotional stress is one of the critical factors that can deplete the body of many nutrients while also reducing the capability to absorb and utilize many nutrients.
Medications – Medications can deplete the body store of nutrient minerals and/or increase the levels of toxic metals. These medications include diuretics, antacids, aspirin and oral contraceptives.
Pollution – Through the various stages of one’s life, an average person is continually exposed to a variety of toxic metals, which can contribute to nutrient imbalances and adverse metabolic effects.
Nutritional Supplements – Taking unsupervised, incorrect or improper amounts of supplements can contribute to an overall biochemical imbalance.
Inherited Patterns – Many become predisposed to mineral imbalances & deficiencies, due to hereditary patterns.
It is key to note that body nutrients are not just vital to your overall health but is critical for the health of your hair as well. While our bodies need a variety of vitamins and minerals to support certain functions, there are specific ones that will promote healthy hair. Click here to know more.
RichFeel’s HTMA takes cognizance of all of above, and doctors help one take preventive steps, in the direction towards healthy body and hair. The knowledge that HTMA provides is truly powerful & golden! It lets you customize your healing regimen (including what you eat & corrections to lifestyle) to understand and rightly address your own body’s biochemistry. RichFeel’s trichologists play a significant role in this process. They invest time in understanding you, your medical history, your needs, your lifestyle, decipher the analysis for you, and guide you on the right path forward for overall wellness – nutrition, diet & the right supplements being key.
