fun Richie headcanon is that he gets easily overstimulated by noise. it’s noticeable when he seems to put his hands over his ears in stressful situations (bury the bully and workin’ boys being my two main examples), but he also wears headphones when he goes to see workin’ girls

he doesn’t have this costume detail in npmd but I like to believe that the headphones are noise canceling, so he can put them on if he’s feeling overwhelmed which he would need if he’s in a loud environment such as a musical <3

wow, another guy who gets uncomfortable when people sing, wonder if him and Paul have bonded over that (I will die on the hill that Paul is Richie’s uncle)
