people who don't experience hyperfixation don't know what it feels like to hyperfixate so much on something that it becomes not only your subject of obsession but also your source of happiness and literally the main reason why you still keep going; literal source of strength and life.

G1 CLIMAX XXI ~ THE INVINCIBLE FIGHTER ~ (block finals) August 14, 2011 Ryogoku Kokugikan Hiroshi Tanahashi vs Tetsuya Naito
A short but oh so interesting match. In the block finals, Naito comes in stressed, focused when Tanahashi looks confident, playful with the crowd and, well in the end, presumptuous. Naito’s win is a heist alright, but still it is the G1 and still he pinned the Heavyweight Champion. As a 2020 fan, it’s a bit wild to see how much Naito jumped and we can’t help but wince at every moves slowly wearing down his knees, we know. He used to be so interested in the crowd, so expectant and eager and again, we know. Thankfully it’s also extremely nice to see the details he kept from who he used to be: his theme of course, his boots, a couple of moves. He might have changed but he is not denying his past and that is such a comforting thought.
