vampire munakata, but with Munashiro
Shiro gets to be the hapless traveler who stops at Munakata’s ancient castle XD Imagine he’s doing some scientific research and happens to get lost on his way to a conference. The weather is getting dicey outside too and he’s worried about spending the night in his car so he ultimately decides to try and find a place to spend the night. He spots a very fancy old mansion off in the distance and thinks that doesn’t look suspicious at all, hopefully the owner is home and will let Shiro stay the night. He goes up to the mansion and knocks on the door, after a moment it opens revealing an elegant man surrounded by sparkles. Shiro has a ‘…’ moment and then hesitantly says he’s lost and was looking for a place to stay the night. Naturally Count Munakata could never allow a lost traveler to spend the night outside, please feel free to come inside my splendid mansion with no mirrors and blackout curtains on all the windows.
Shiro thinks this guy is a little odd but he seems friendly enough and decides to head inside. They have some nice small talk and Shiro thinks that Munakata is a very interesting person, he seems to have a lot of knowledge about various things. They probably end up talking about science and Shiro’s pretty excited about that, he never gets to talk science. Munakata gets up to get them each a drink and Shiro does notice that Munakata’s drink is very…red, like not normal red wine type red but blood type red. He’s already been kinda suspecting though, Shiro’s watched a vampire movie or two before. He’s never met a vampire who wears glasses and sparkles even in the dark though, that’s a new one, but anyway he’s not the type to be unpleasant to someone just because they’re a vampire. At some point he just says it offhand, ‘a vampire like Munakata-san,’ and Munakata’s glasses shine as he’s like I see you are good at reaching conclusions from available clues. Shiro says he is a scientist after all and Munakata grins, it seems they can have an intriguing conversation, how splendid.

post betrayal yata and fushimi getting hit by a strain w the power to turn peoples accents/voice into posh victorian children
(please papa i want to see it get stabbed)
Imagine Yata and Fushimi fighting with these posh accents, like “goodness, you appear to be right small aren’t you, small like a little fish you are,” “if you continue to speak that way I’ll have maman come to scold you, and also you can simply go all the way off away from me.” The moment they get hit by the Strain they’re both trying so hard to swear but all that comes out is stuff like ‘well dearie me’ and ‘oh my this is quite a spot isn’t it.’ They decide to go after the Strain, Yata’s all ‘I wish to see it get stabbed’ and Fushimi is like ‘I want some more stabbing indeed.’ Under any normal circumstance they would be teasing each other but they’re both a bit mortified by the whole thing, like they decide to go after the Strain right away in part because there is no way they are returning to their respective clans talking like this (Fushimi is vaguely concerned he’ll end up calling Munakata ‘papa’ and then he would have no choice but to set himself on fire). Yata can’t be looking uncool in front of his clan either, even though he did just refer to Kusanagi as ‘maman’ a moment ago but no one needs to know that. It’s warm out and at some point Fushimi starts getting tired from the sun because he also has the constitution of a small Victorian child all on his own, the Strain didn’t even need to do anything with that.

NagaShiro with this prompt:
There’s something haunting about how silent and still the lake is of a morning, the sun barely beginning to tint the sky and not yet managing to peek over the towering mountains that cradled it. Even though your footsteps were careful as you walked up the length of the board walk, it almost felt as though the sound of your boots on the aged wood were echoing far too loudly for such a peaceful place.
With the chill of the morning air gently nipping at your face, and your breath leaving you in soft heated puffs of steam, you felt almost as if you were floating even without the aid of water, your soul feeling light as air, even as your body remained firmly on the ground.
It was this very peace that had brought you here that first day all those years ago, and the reason you had ever met Them.
….It was also the reason that you hadn’t aged a day, even though thirty years had long since passed since that fateful encounter.
Strangely, it seemed as though nothing here had aged either….They certainly hadn’t.
Reference: https://www.tumblr.com/write-it-motherfuckers/189258071222?source=share
The ‘haven’t aged a day’ bit with Shiro immediately made me think ‘oh, it’s a Slate/Shiro ship’ XD Imagine when he’s a young researcher Shiro travels to this mysterious small town by a fog-covered lake. The people of the town have a story about monsters that live in the lake, that kidnap beautiful maidens and then return them weeks later and the maidens stop aging after that point, until the day they finally run back to the lake and are never seen again. Shiro is like a researcher of fairytales and cryptic stories, trying to probe the existence of the supernatural, and this small town tale intrigued him from the moment he read about it in a dusty book in an old library. He tries to ask the people about it but no one wants to talk, other than to say that no one goes near the lake anymore.
Shiro figures he’s safe, not being a beautiful maiden or anything (that’s what he thinks anyway). He goes down to the boardwalk and as he gets closer to the lake he notices that the town becomes strange at this point — the buildings all look in a much older style than the rest of the town, and even though there appear to be shops there are no people around. He starts walking closer to the lake when a bird flies by his face. The bird is bright and tropical even though this place wouldn’t have that kind of bird and Shiro finds himself following it. He’s led to the edge of the lake and this bridge of stones rises from the water. Shiro remembers the legend but decides to follow anyway, to an island in the center of the lake that wasn’t visible before. Lying against a tree is a mysterious man with green eyes, eyes that glow as he reaches out a hand to Shiro. He wonders why Shiro came, knowing the legends, and Shiro laughs sheepishly as he says he couldn’t resist. The man’s eyes glow again and he introduces himself as Hisui. He asks Shiro to sit and talk with him a while, and even knowing the consequences Shiro agrees.
Suddenly he finds himself back in town, nowhere near the lake. He feels like he’s been somewhere for a very long time but he can’t remember where. Shiro thinks that’s odd, and there’s this longing in him that he can’t explain, and he can’t recall why he came to this town in the first place. He leaves to continue his research and of course at some point he starts to notice that he isn’t aging. It’s strange but Shiro’s always been interested in strange things so it surprisingly doesn’t bother him as much as he expected it would. As time passes he finds himself thinking more and more about that one small town though  and finally thirty years later he returns. He heads towards the lake, past the strange old shops that look like they’ve been frozen in time. When he reaches the island in the center of the lake though he smiles and reaches for Hisui’s hand, saying ‘Well, I’m back.’

How to buy K merch in the Year 2024
I got several asks about this so rather than do each individually, I’ve decided to just make one big How to Buy K Merch in the Year 2024 post. I’m going to skip over the more obvious western sites like eBay and focus more on Japanese sites here. Because there hasn’t been much new K merch in some time keep in mind that most of what you will be looking for is secondhand, which means availability will vary.
Shopping Services
For some of these sites you will need a shopping service, so we’ll start there. This is by no means a comprehensive list of available shopping services, just ones I’ve used and liked.
FromJapan - This one is very straightforward — copy and paste the url of the item you want into their search bar. For anything in certain sites like Rakuten this will pull up a page that will give you the item and its price in your currency and you can just click add to cart. For other sites you may need to request a price quote, there’s a small form to fill out and they’ll get back to you on if they can order it. Timing depends on when you make the request. The nice thing about FromJapan is they will hold items for you for 45 days, so you can collect multiple purchases from multiple sites over time and have them all shipped at once. The bad side is that after 45 days they will discard your items, so keep an eye on when your oldest item arrived (you can see how long it’s been at their warehouse on your account page, and they will email you as the deadline gets close too).
Treasure Japan - Treasure Japan is a much smaller service than the others on this list but also the one I’ve used the longest. Being a smaller service means they tend to be more able to purchase items that might have seller restrictions, particularly from places like Mercari. Some listings when pasted into other shopping service sites will have a ‘cannot purchase from this seller’ warning, because some sellers don’t want to deal with shopping services. I haven’t had much trouble with this merchandise-wise, but when I’ve run into it with j-fashion Treasure Japan has been able to order when the bigger services couldn’t. Their site is set up so you will input different sites in different sections, there’s one for auction, one for ‘flea market’ (this will be places like Mercari) and one for shopping sites.
Buyee/Tenso - Buyee is a shopping service, Tenso is a forwarding service. They’re owned by the same parent company but are separate sites and you’ll need a separate account for each. Buyee is directly integrated with some sites like Mercari and Yahoo Japan, you can put in the url into their search bar and get a listing that you can buy immediately. Like FromJapan, any sites outside of the ones they’re integrated into will require you to request a quote (I found this more difficult with Buyee than FromJapan, personally) and they will sometimes be unable to purchase items. They will hold your items for 30 days at no charge, and you can request to consolidate packages for shipping.
Tenso, as I said above, is a forwarding service and somewhat more complicated. Basically when you sign up they will give you a Japanese address (presumably one of their warehouses) and you can then buy directly from Japanese websites, inputting the address you were given in the address field and paying with your own credit card. The items will be shipped to Tenso and from there you can have them sent to you. Obviously this is more complicated than a shopping service. I’ve used it mainly for things that didn’t involve an item being shipped (this is how I signed up for Fan Clan back in the day, for example, though my lottery goods were sent via Tenso too) or sites that require you to sign up to purchase from. I wouldn’t recommend it for any marketplace type site unless you’re fluent in Japanese, since sellers on those sites may try to communicate with you.
Stores
AmiAmi (no shopping service needed) - AmiAmi is mainly for new goods but I’ll mention it here anyway, in case K ever gets more merch. AmiAmi usually sells out on preorders, you place your order and they will let you know when the item arrives. You pay at that time. They do sometimes get used merch though so you can keep an eye out there, sometimes there will be decent deals on items that only have small flaws like the box being damaged.
Amazon Japan (may or may not need a shopping service) - Did you know overseas people can buy from Amazon Japan? You do now! You will need to make a new account, even if you have an Amazon account in your country. Whether you need a shopping service or not depends on the item. Anything sold directly by the company will likely not need a shopping service — the majority of my K manga and the stage plays were all bought directly from here, and when I was supplying raws for Countdown and LSW I was buying the magazines from here as well (I’ve also used it for Pokémon plushies and sewing books). If the item is being sold by a third party seller though you will likely need a shopping service. The site will tell you when you try to check out.
Surugaya EN (no shopping service required)/ Surugaya JP (shopping service required) - This is a secondhand shop and a great place to find merch. The main difference between the English site and the Japanese one is that the Japanese site has a larger selection (particularly doujinshi, and even more particularly spicy doujinshi). The English site periodically has free shipping sales so keep an eye out. Surugaya also has physical stores and will sometimes share merch between the store and the site so keep that in mind too, I have had items canceled before because they sold out in store and the listing hadn’t been updated yet.
Mandarake (no shopping service needed) - Another secondhand shop similar to Surugaya. I have not actually purchased from them myself and am not fond of their interface but I know people who have bought things from here. Like Surugaya they share stock with physical stores so something you want can sell out even after you’ve purchased.
Lashinbang (shoppng service required) - More secondhand shops. Lashinbang is rather small though so they don't always have much stuff, at least not for K.
CDJapan (no shopping service needed) - This is also better for new merch than secondhand but still worth a mention. I’ve found their prices tend to be worse than a lot of other stores though, this is more of a last resort for me.
Otaku Republic/Goods Republic (no shopping service needed) - Otaku sells doujinshi, Goods sells merch. The main draw is that these two are easy to search if you’re uncomfortable dealing with Japanese sites. I haven’t used them in quite a while but when I was buying from them they would send me free gifts with every purchase (my S4 cup came from them, as well as a bunch of clear file folders that I didn’t take pictures of because they’re being used as sewing pattern storage right now). The main downside is that while shipping is free over $50 they massively mark up the base prices to make up for it. I eventually stopped using this site because the shopping service was cheaper even with shipping and fees, you are paying for convenience. A lot of their ‘inventory’ is just listings from other sites including Surugaya, so check there first.
GoraShop (shopping service required) - This is Gora’s direct bookshop! They only have the season novelizations and Idol K books right now, as well as some Ayaka stuff.
Kinkurido (shopping service required) - This is the King Amusement Creative shop. All Memories was sold through this shop but is currently sold out, if they ever restock Gora will likely announce it on their Twitter. They do have some other small K goods available, including some CDs and artbooks (and Sarumi body pillows).
Marketplaces
Mercari Japan (Shopping service needed) - If you’ve ever used the English version of Mercari, here it is again but Japanese edition. You can find a lot of good used pieces here but prices are set by the individual seller so be wary of overpaying the first thing you find. Be sure to use a translator to look at the description in case you're buying a damaged item. Sometimes shopping services can try to negotiate the prices if you ask.
Yahoo Japan Auctions (shopping service needed) - Similarly as above, if you’re familiar with eBay this is fundamentally the same thing. Some shopping services will allow you to place last minute ‘sniper’ bids, and most will let you set a maximum bid and keep bidding on your behalf until that max is reached.
Shopping tips and things to know
The good news about buying from Japan right now: the yen is weak, so you can get deals! In the US, anyway. This may depend on your country so if you’re unsure on the exchange rate you can google “[your country’s currency] to yen exchange rate” and it should give you an approximate.
The bad news: shipping is killer. Keep that in mind, especially if you’re buying heavy items like bags or shoes (yes, K has those, there are several SuperGroupies collabs. If you want a S4 purse or Yata Misaki shoes keep in mind you will probably be paying through the nose for shipping). For the European types, you may have additional taxes too so be aware of your country’s import laws. Ditto when it comes to customs. For my fellow Americans, I have never had a customs issue even when buying fairly pricey dresses so you’re probably okay on that end but I can’t speak for other countries.
Character tax is real. Basically, more popular characters will likely have more expensive merch because there’s more demand — for example, Fushimi and Yata merch tends to be more expensive than, say, Silvers merch. Keychains and pins are usually cheaper than larger items like figures and standees either way though.
Most of the Japanese sites will need to be searched in Japanese. For character names, I suggest going to the K wiki and grabbing your favorite character’s name in kanji and using that to search. For pairings, while marketplace sites like Mercari may have listings under the pairing name sites like Suruga will use the two individual character names so you’ll want to search under that. If your browser doesn’t have an add on to translate that’s very helpful to grab in order to make your experience easier. For K itself, in general this is really the downside of having a favorite series with a one letter title. However, using ‘Missing Kings,’ ‘Return of Kings’ or ‘Seven Stories’ can be helpful here but will likely mostly turn up merch made for that specific season/movie.
If you want to look up something specific like a plush but don't know the Japanese word for it, Jisho can be helpful. Look up the kanji for the word you want and then copy-paste into your search. The downside is sometimes there are multiple words for the same thing or a word may be in kanji but people use the hiragana more often and you won't know, but it should get you on the right path to start.
On buying spicier goods: most shopping services have it in their terms that they will not buy adult items. In practice, however, this depends. I've had FromJapan refuse to buy perfectly tame G-rated doujinshi. Treasure Japan has in their terms that they won't ship adult items but like 70% of my doujinshi collection was purchased through them, with an R18 Sarumi book purchased as recently as last year. I've heard Buyee also states that they won't ship adult items but it's hit or miss if they turn down your order, and if you buy directly using Tenso they likely won't even open your package. Keep your country's laws regarding importing in mind, especially if you think customs might be likely to poke around in your package. Don't get in legal trouble just for spicy drawings.
Buying secondhand is a marathon, not a sprint. Sometimes it takes a while for what you want to show up, so just keep looking! When I was collecting my nui set I literally bookmarked the search for “K ぬい” (nui) on Mercari and checked every day or so, which may be more obsessive than you want but it does get the job done (I was molded in the merch search mines of trying to find lolita dresses that haven’t been sold for 10 years, so I’m used to this kind of thing). If you keep looking you may even find things you didn't know you needed, like this Sarumi bedsheet I forgot to add into my collection post.

Happy hunting!

Yata Megumi (or Minoru whichever you like) getting panic attacks frequently and Mr and Mrs yata not knowing how to care for them because Misaki was always the one to help Megumi / Minoru with getting through them and she / he still gets them frequently so Yata comes over and/or they stay nights at his place for the panic attacks / aftermath?
Maybe it happens to both kids, like Yata’s stepdad has some neurodivergence that runs in the family and the kids are prone to panic attacks. Minoru is the first to really struggle with them when he’s small and Yata turns out to be unexpectedly good at handling them, like the first time it happens Yata’s mom is in the other room and Yata panics himself a little but manages to Big Brother his way through calming Minoru down. After this Minoru has a therapist who gives the whole family tips on how to handle things when he’s having a panic attack but somehow Yata is still the best at it, when no one else can calm Minoru down Yata can.
So then when Yata moves out he probably is a little concerned about this but thinks his parents can handle it. His mom and stepdad do their best but they aren’t as good as Yata at it and so as a consequence they bring Minoru over to Yata’s apartment every so often to help him relax and feel better. Minoru is initially embarrassed about needing to see his big brother all the time but imagine it turns out to be pretty fun for him because sure the panic attacks suck but he gets to go spend time with Yata and, more, importantly, Yata’s super cool friend Saru so there’s a good side of this after all. Fushimi clicks his tongue and complains whenever Yata tells him Minoru is coming over but he never actually refuses to let him stay the night and doesn’t complain about having to help Yata keep him entertained. One day of course Minoru shows up and Fushimi isn’t there, and Yata just gives a tight smile as he says it’s fine, it’s just the two of them for a while okay.
Eventually after a few years Megumi starts exhibiting some of the same symptoms as Minoru and of course Yata turns out to be the best at helping her through the attacks too. His mom apologizes about having to always bother him when he’s trying to be independent but Yata doesn’t mind, these are his siblings after all (and in a weird way I imagine this making Yata feel less like an outsider the way he did as a kid, like he really is part of the family after all and these are his siblings who think he’s great). Minoru starts coming less often as he gets older and learns more strategies to handle his attacks and maybe gets some good medication too, but he still has panic attacks from time to time and his parents will let him go to Yata’s afterward to recover. Yata’s kinda proud at being so trusted to handle his little siblings, imagine him maybe taking them out to fun places that aren’t so busy once they’re feeling better or buying them snacks. I bet he takes them to the bar occasionally too, Kusanagi doesn’t mind lowering the blinds if the lights are bothering them and he’ll happily make the kids a pile of pancakes. Yata is initially worried that he’ll look uncool bringing kids around but imagine one day Mikoto puts a hand on his head and tells him he’s doing good and Yata just beams, having his big brother abilities praised by Mikoto.

NagaShiro when their conversation led to this:
Person A: “Being immortal is no excuse to be so reckless with your life!”
Person B: “It’s a perfect excuse actually.”
Imagine this as some kind of AU where either Hisui was never the bad guy or he somehow has a redemption arc in S2 Everybody Lives scenario so he’s on the side of the good guys but also the Slate is still around and the Kings all still have their powers. That being the case Shiro is still immortal, which comes in surprisingly handy during major emergencies. He’s generally not the one dealing with the major emergencies of course, that’s usually Munakata’s job, but Shiro does step in when needed if no one else is around or if like his clan or Ashinaka was in danger.
One day he’s spending an afternoon talking with Hisui and they’re like out in public at a park or something. Suddenly this Strain shows up and starts threatening to blow people up with their powers, it’s all chaos and screaming. Hisui starts to glow Green and stand but Shiro is like I’ll handle this, rushing right into danger. Imagine there’s this big explosion that Hisui is able to somewhat protect the bystanders from with his powers but he doesn’t see Shiro and he’s starting to get nervous. A moment later Shiro shows up with the unconscious Strain, waving as he’s like no problem no problem. Hisui gets this dissatisfied look as S4 finally shows up to handle the cleanup.
In the aftermath Hisui and Shiro are resting on a bench together and Hisui admits he’s rather irritated that Shiro put himself in danger that way, even though he knows Shiro’s basically immortal. Shiro just waves a hand breezily all that’s exactly why I can put myself in danger and Hisui says that isn’t acceptable. Shiro’s all what and Hisui calmly says even though he is aware of Shiro’s immortality he doesn’t find Shiro putting himself in such situations to be acceptable. Even though Shiro’s immortal his body can still be wounded and he made Hisui very worried. Shiro looks surprised and then he smiles softly all ‘ah, you were worried.’ Hisui wonders if it’s unnatural that he should be worried and Shiro says no, no that’s something very natural actually, and promises to be a little more careful with himself next time.

Yata taking pictures of Fushimi while they're having sex?
Very bold for a virgin, as Fushimi would say. Maybe this starts as Yata taking pictures after sex, when Fushimi’s all exhausted and content lying beside him. He looks so innocent and relaxed that Yata can’t resist it, he has to take a picture. Of course the fact that Fushimi’s also naked and maybe at most covered by a blanket is pretty appealing too, though Yata doesn’t really think about that until later when he’s looking through his pictures. All of a sudden he feels like a creepy weirdo, like what kind of pervert takes pictures of his mostly naked sleeping boyfriend without even asking. Yata thinks he should delete the pictures but he can’t bring himself to do it, he just loves the way Fushimi looks like this. And while his initial impulse was innocent the more he looks at the pictures the more he starts thinking about what led up to them and suddenly he’s got a bit of a problem in his pants.
Yata really feels like a pervert now and decides to just tell Fushimi, like admit his guilt and then he’ll get rid of the pictures. He isn’t sure how Fushimi will react but laughter is not what he expected, imagine Fushimi just having a good snicker about Yata’s virginal guilt over taking pictures of his post-coital boyfriend. Yata’s all shut up I was really worried about this and imagine he accidentally blurts out that he masturbated to the pictures too. Fushimi gets this wicked grin as he’s like oh that is bold for you, probably secretly very pleased that he could affect Yata that way. Yata’s bright red as he grumbles that it’s not a big deal, Fushimi just leans in and gives him a kiss as he wonders if Yata would like some even better pictures.
Yata’s like wait what the fuck and Fushimi’s all ‘exactly,’ already kissing Yata and trying to get his shirt off. Yata’s super embarrassed about the very idea of it but he’s also so turned on too and he finds himself going for his camera (I assume this is on his watch too, imagine he usually takes that off during sex but now he’s leaving it on with the camera app up). As they’re going at it imagine Fushimi urging Yata to take more pictures, all ‘just keep looking at me,’ just reveling in having all Yata’s attention on him. Afterward when they look at the pictures together Yata is once more mortified and Fushimi idly wonders if they should delete all the photos then. Yata’s like n-no we don’t have to do that and Fushimi smirks triumphantly, very pleased at this particular turn of events.
(Also if you want the video taping version of this, many years ago I wrote this.)

munashiro pos-rok, Adolf getting overworked so he falls asleep in Reisi's lap. Reisi holds Adolf close and doesn't move from his spot for hours.
Munakata is very used to dealing with overworked people isn’t he XD (And yet he doesn’t take breaks himself either…I guess all those puzzles won’t do themselves.) Imagine this after another long day dealing with politicians, Munakata has to lay out a budget for S4’s continuing activities and for how various departments will be handled in the wake of Kokujouji’s death and the destruction of the Slate. Shiro is not very well suited to this kind of bureaucratic work but he doesn’t want to dump it all on Munakata either, he feels like this is somewhat his duty as well after all. He’s not used to all this paperwork though, imagine him just watching in slightly amused awe as Munakata swiftly goes through paper after paper and meanwhile Shiro’s attention is drifting after just a few. He’s determined to power through it though, just laser focusing on what he needs to do.
At some point he’s getting tired, imagine he and Munakata have moved to the couch so that they can look over some things together. Munakata is explaining something complicated and Shiro is trying to listen but his eyes keep sliding shut. Before he knows it he’s just dropped down onto Munakata’s lap, upsetting all the paperwork. Munakata raises an eyebrow, momentarily worried, but then he sees that Shiro’s fallen peacefully asleep and Munakata just gets this soft smile. He gathers up the paperwork that he can reach and shifts ever so slightly so that Shiro will be more comfortable. Then he goes back to quietly working, not moving position at all, his hands occasionally idly running through Shiro’s hair as he lets Shiro sleep.

Fantasy world AU - there's a great evil that must be stopped. Homra is one of the powerful groups who wanted to help defeat the great evil but everyone is having trouble. Yata, a novice magician, tries to summon a being that could help and ended up with the human Fushimi. Yata thinks there's probably a reason for it and that Fushimi might be the hero they need but Fushimi thinks otherwise. Fushimi and Yata get close and Fushimi wanted to be the hero Yata wanted him to be but he fails.
Homra leader Mikoto gets stronger and Yata's fanboying over this made Fushimi think that he shouldn't have been summoned as he wasn't actually needed. Scepter4's leader sees potential in him and recruits him anyways. Fushimi's goal is to help S4 defeat rhe great evil and maybe take down Homra as well as a way to show Yata that Homra isn't awesome and Mikoto isn't a hero.
Imagine Yata summoning Fushimi and being like ‘maybe this guy is a great hero…?’ and meanwhile Fushimi is standing there nearly starving to death because fantasy worlds don’t have Caloriemate. Say there’s this mysterious sorcerer named Colorless who’s been causing chaos in the world. Homra is like your standard D&D hero party and are one of many trying to stop Colorless and his demon hordes but even they’ve been having trouble making any headway. Yata’s a novice magician who looks up to Homra’s leader Mikoto, he thinks Mikoto is amazing and can definitely defeat the evil. At some point though they come upon like this prophecy about how true evil can only be defeated with help from another world. The same mysterious library that contains the prophecy also has a hidden spell as well and Yata decides to secretly take it. When Homra found the prophecy Kusanagi rebuffed Yata’s suggestion of summoning a being from another world because it could be too taxing for a novice and he was worried for Yata’s safety. Yata though wants only to help Mikoto and decides to cast the spell himself.
He expects a great warrior or amazing hero and instead he gets…Fushimi, who was just isekaied to this new world and is already insulting the mage who summoned him by wondering who the shorty in the Halloween costume is. Yata thinks this guy is an asshole but he figures Fushimi must be some kind of hero right, if the spell called him. Fushimi clicks his tongue and says Yata must have failed his spell because Fushimi is no hero. But then imagine Fushimi really quickly picks up on a lot of the magic system in this world and comes up with all these strategies to counter the demon hordes and Yata thinks Fushimi’s super amazing, see he really must be a hero. Fushimi tries to downplay his own abilities but really the more Yata looks at him with shining eyes and calls him amazing the more he starts to believe it himself, that together he and Yata can take on the world and Fushimi can be a hero. Unfortunately during this big fight against Colorless one of Fushimi’s strategies fails and he’s nearly killed, only to be saved by Mikoto who defeats Colorless once and for all.
In the aftermath Homra are celebrating that they defeated the great evil but Fushimi is miserable, watching Yata fanboy over Mikoto. Fushimi feels like if he failed what’s the point of him even being here. Meanwhile the demons haven’t subsided though and Kusnaagi is beginning to suspect there’s an even greater evil behind Colorless who has finally awakened, Yata’s like even if there is Mikoto-san will kick his ass. Fushimi coldly tries to tell Yata that he wants to be sent home but Yata thinks he’s kidding and blows him off, Fushimi decides to run off on his own thinking even his terrible home life back in his world is better than being useless here and watching Yata look at someone else. This is when Munakata shows up, he’s part of a squad of like royal guards who protect the kingdom and have also been resisting Colorless. Fushimi doesn’t see why Munakata would want him, a normal useless human from another world, but Munakata sees potential in Fushimi and offers him a place in S4.
Yata is obviously devastated and every time they meet after that Fushimi taunts Yata about what a useless hero Mikoto is, sure he killed Colorless but now this stronger evil called the Green King has taken Colorless’s place. Fushimi keeps trying to convince Yata that they’re enemies but really Fushimi just wants him to see that there’s no such thing as heroes, and Mikoto especially isn’t one. But then eventually imagine the Green King manages to defeat both Homra and S4, leaving Mikoto dead or at least incapacitated and both groups are sent into hiding while the Green King’s forces sweep over the land. This is when Fushimi switches sides yet again, going over to the Greens and Yata can’t believe that he summoned a traitor to this world even as he can’t stop himself from worrying about Fushimi’s welfare.
Shortly afterward the previously impenetrable shield that was surrounding the Green King suddenly develops a crack and Homra and S4 are able to launch a counterattack, something they were unable to do before. Yata ends up finding out from Munakata that in fact this was the plan all along and that Fushimi was really a double agent. Yata realizes that this must be what the prophecy meant, that Fushimi really was the ‘hero’ who would turn the tide, but at the same time he realizes that the prophecy didn’t say anything about if the hero would survive. Yata immediately rushes in while the others focus on defeating the Green King, Yata just wants to find Fushimi and save him because regardless of Fushimi being a hero he’s too important to Yata for Yata to lose him now.

my favorite hobby is torturing yata (lightheartedly). i imagine since yata *is* canonically cool to others, esp girls, that he def has fangirls around the city whether he knows it or not...since yata has to take whatever jobs he can, i can see him getting a job where theres girls who know him and he doesnt wanna back out cus he needs money but then also he keeps from customers from harassing them on shift (i love putting him in a room of fangirls xD)
This is honestly making me think of Yata as like Stark from Frieren, befriending people and becoming popular everywhere he goes. Like Yata can’t talk with girls but he also isn’t gonna let anyone harass them either, so he ends up being popular just by being a good guy and he has no idea. He works at a restaurant for a few weeks and there’s a waitress around his age who Yata is completely unable to talk to and every time she says hi to him he gets bright red and stutters. She thinks he’s just weirdly shy and then one day a customer tries to put a hand up her skirt. The waitress freezes and suddenly there’s Yata putting the guy into the ground all what the fuck did you just do asshole. Even though the waitress sticks up for him Yata still gets fired for making a scene, but after this all the other waitresses hear about the nice guy who beat up a customer that was harassing women.
Yata gets another job at a convenience store, there are several women working there too and Yata just kinda looks away and swallows hard every time they look at him. One day this group of drunk guys walk into the store and start causing a scene and harassing all the female employees, and once again here comes Yata with a broom chasing them all off like don’t scare girls or I'll kill you. He gets another job after that doing deliveries, and happens to show up at one apartment just as a guy is hitting his girlfriend. Immediately Yata knocks the guy out and when the girl expresses gratitude he just stutters and drops her deliveries into her hands like ‘it’s fine here’s your stuff bye.’ Unknown to Yata he basically ends up with a ton of girls all over the city who know about him and think he’s amazing, and Yata has absolutely no idea. (And then one day he goes to a bar with some of the other guys and he’s suddenly surrounded by girls that he’s had only a passing acquaintance with but who he once helped in the past, Yata is about to pass out from all the female attention and the rest of the Homra guys are just like how did Yata suddenly get so popular with the ladies what the hell.)

Adolf helping Reisi wash up (whether it be their hair, body, some blood off his hands, etc.)
Imagine Shiro hanging out at S4 after a particularly long meeting with various politicians. Shiro is pretty tired but it’s late so he wonders if it’s worth it to go home or if he should just let Kuroh and Neko know he’ll be staying over. Munakata suggests Shiro stay, it’s quite late and they’re both tired. Before going to rest though Munakata would like to wash up and offers Shiro use of the S4 baths as well. It’s late enough that no one else should be there and they’ll have it all to themselves. Munakata looks immaculate as usual, not a hair out of place, but Shiro suspects he’s more tired than he’s letting on and so Shiro agrees.
Once they get into the bath Shiro has Munakata sit down and offers to wash his back. Munakata is amused and says it isn’t necessary, Shiro just smiles and says he thought it might help Munakata relax. Far be it for Munakata to argue when his boyfriend wants to wash his back so he agrees, pointing out where the soap and everything is and Shiro settles down behind Munakata. He carefully soaps up a sponge and starts washing Munakata’s back. Shiro can’t help but notice how smooth and soft Munakata’s skin is, just running his hands over it. He suddenly realizes that he’s stopped washing and started just feeling around, he coughs sheepishly and apologizes but Munakata’s grinning and says it’s fine. Shiro also offers to wash his hair and Munakata’s like ‘I’m in your hands.’ Imagine it just very calm and natural between them, Munakata with his eyes half closed and Shiro focused on running his hands through Munakata’s hair and down his back. Afterward Munakata offers to reciprocate but Shiro decides not today, since he doesn’t have a change of clothes here, and instead wraps Munakata’s hair up in a towel and gives Munakata a robe and they go back to Munakata’s room, where Munakata rests his head in Shiro’s lap while Shiro dries his hair.

We know that Fushimi's transition into getting his red aura was painful, but do you think it was like that for the other current HOMRA members? Like maybe the reason it was painful for Fushimi was because he wasn't entirely fit for them. We know his true king is the blue king, and we dont hear about how Yata, Kusanagi, or any of the other HOMRA members felt getting red aura.
We do see a few other instances of characters getting their power ‘onscreen,’ so to speak, but it’s hard to say for sure how it felt for them versus Fushimi. Kusanagi and Totsuka both seem calm enough about getting the power in Side Red, while Yata’s reaction in LSW does suggest it was possibly at least harrowing: ‘Yata too looked like he had thought for a moment they would actually die, and he made an expression as if his soul had left his body.’ It’s a bit hard to say from this if Yata felt that the initiation was also painful or if it was more that he was afraid for a moment and simply thought he would be burned up.
More interesting I think is in Memory of Red, where we see both Akagi and Eric get the Red power. Akagi looks simply shocked though he does seem to have a moment of pain when the Homra tattoo appears, while Eric (who gets his power via headpat rather than handshake) actually cries out in a way that clearly makes Fujishima think Mikoto’s punishing Eric instead. In Eric’s case it’s possible this is also from surprise or the sudden feeling like he was going to be killed, similar to how Yata apparently looked post-initiation, so it’s less pain than thinking he really is going to lose his life since he doesn’t know Mikoto is adopting him instead. We know Fushimi felt like he was burning to death at least and while there’s nothing stated for sure it is possible that this is a feeling everyone has and it’s simply that for Fushimi it was more intense or more memorable (this makes me wonder if it is a feeling that comes with getting the Red power, and those who can push through it are the ones who receive power while those who crumble are actually burned to death).
So on that end I wonder if the issue for Fushimi was less that it was more painful for him than other people physically and more that due to his mental state the whole thing was simply more traumatizing, and so it stood out in his mind as more painful while other members just blew that feeling away because the subsequent feeling of having power kinda overtook it. Like for Yata, he might have been afraid for just a moment that he was going to die, but then the power settles in his body and he’s immediately thinking how cool it is that he was able to become a clansman and looking at his awesome new tattoo.
For Fushimi though it was something that remained in the back of his mind (when he receives the Blue power he immediately braces for the shock, fully expecting pain, and is surprised when that doesn’t happen – but the Blue power isn’t violent like the Red power, so it could simply be a difference in the colors themselves rather than the King). I don’t think the pain was entirely because Fushimi ‘wasn’t suited’ for the Red clan – if he hadn’t been suited at all he wouldn’t have passed Mikoto’s test after all, it’s simply that he was more suited for the Blue clan. I think for Fushimi it’s more that the pain that everyone might feel getting the Red power was so much more acute for him because his existing trauma made him dwell on it and made him more frightened than others might have been, so it’s something that’s remained strong in his memory while everyone else just thinks of it as a momentary discomfort that was worth it for the power gained.

MiSaru but Saruhiko is a pillow princess and Yata a stone butch.
Is it lesbian Sarumi day? I think it should be lesbian Sarumi day. This might actually work between them, with Yata not really wanting to be touched sexually but at the same time she loves pleasuring Fushimi and of course Fushimi is spoiled and is just happy to sit there with Yata between her legs totally focused on Fushimi and only Fushimi. In Yata’s case I wonder if there might be some level of gender dsyphoria there, like maybe she doesn’t quite identify as transmasc but doesn’t feel entirely comfortable being seen as a girl either. Post-ROK when she and Fushimi finally get together Yata’s still struggling with her own identity a little and has realized she doesn’t care for certain levels of sexual activity because it makes her uncomfortable. She isn’t sure how to tell Fushimi about this though, not wanting Fushimi to think that this is Fushimi’s fault somehow or that Yata isn’t attracted to her, and of course Fushimi just chalks this down to Yata being a virgin.
When Yata’s finally honest about it though I imagine them working through things somewhat awkwardly, at first it’s probably just a lot of Yata focusing solely on Fushimi and Fushimi is perfectly happy with that. Yata pretty much expected Fushimi to be kinda selfish and a bit lazy when it comes to sex, like Fushimi is more than happy to go with what requires the least work from her and of course having all Yata’s attention is something she loves, knowing that Misaki is the one who’s just looking only at her and trying so hard to make her feel good. At some point though I could see her feeling anxious that Yata’s always giving and Fushimi receiving (probably in more places than just sex, like a general revelation that Fushimi should be doing more for Misaki because she’s aware that Yata’s doing a lot of the heavy lifting in this relationship and it annoys her that she’s worried about it). This leads to some level of experimentation with the, finding what small ways Fushimi can occasionally touch Yata that Yata’s comfortable with, like Yata is still the one mostly taking charge but there is some activity she’s all right with and Fushimi relishes the rare chances to give all her attention to Misaki. This also usually leads to Yata being even more intense to Fushimi in return, so they really both get what they want in the end.

Fem SaruMi but it's just Yata appreciating Saruhiko's small titties. :3
Yata likes them small so they’re less intimidating XD Imagine Yata herself is more on the average side of things, she actually kinda wishes hers were smaller because she always has to wear a sports bra to skateboard. However one perk is that she has a bigger bust than Saruhiko, you just know that when they were both starting to develop every time Fushimi mocked Yata’s height Yata would shoot back that she has a bigger bust at least. Fushimi ends up pretty flat chested (the malnutrition will do that to you) and doesn’t really care either way, this way it’s not a problem if she doesn’t wear a bra so it’s fine.
Post-ROK when they’re dating is when Yata learns to really appreciate Fushimi’s flat chest though, realizing that it’s really not so much that Fushimi’s flat but she just has cute small boobs. Yata’s initially really nervous about the whole sex thing and imagine her being kinda shy about breasts too, Fushimi laughs like you have a pair too Misaki what are you so nervous about. Yata’s all shut up and Fushimi smirks like don’t you want to touch them and Yata stutters out that she’s not a pervert and anyway there isn’t much to touch. Fushimi just grabs Yata’s hand and puts it on her chest, Yata’s brain short circuits (and then she’s like why the hell aren’t you wearing a bra I told you that’s indecent).
Fushimi just leans in and kisses her and soon they’re making out on the couch and Yata’s hand is still on Fushimi’s chest and Fushimi is making these noises that are driving Yata wild. Yata slips a hand under Fushimi’s shirt and imagine her getting a little intense about it, like Fushimi’s breasts are small and round and fit in her hand perfectly, Yata’s just moving her hand up and down thinking about how soft Fushimi’s skin is. Fushimi finally says Yata’s name and Yata realizes how caught up she was in fondling Fushimi’s chest. Yata gets all red and starts to apologize but then she notices that Fushimi’s face is even redder and she’s breathing hard, because Yata touching her there was really too much (when Yata tries to remove her hand though Fushimi puts it back and tells her to keep going, and now Yata’s like half on top of Fushimi with both hands up her shirt while Fushimi squirms and whimpers underneath her).

munashiro au where everything in the 1st season didn't happen but Munakata actually gets to meet Adolf.
Imagine AU where Munakata decides to light a candle on the Hirasaka building rooftop just because he’s rather curious about the man in the airship (this is something I could see him even trying to do in canon, just out of curiosity right after he becomes King, but maybe Weismann wouldn’t come down for another King since he doesn’t want to be drawn into that world at all). Say even though S1 doesn’t happen Kokujouji still dies — since he likely just died of old age, so the events of S1 had nothing to do with that — and Munakata as the responsible King decides someone should convey the news to the Silver King. He’s aware of the rumors about lighting a candle on a building so he puts on street clothes and goes on his own to wait, and is only mildly surprised when the airship actually lands for him and the door opens. Munakata steps onto the ramp and boards the ship, not hesitating at all even though he’s well aware that he’s entering the sanctum of another King.
Weismann is waiting for him and imagine Munakata just sizing him up, the mysterious Silver King, noting that the rumors of the ‘immortal’ King are true. Weismann laughs ruefully at that, wondering what other rumors have been spreading about him. Munakata smiles thinly and apologizes for his rudeness. He doesn’t sound particularly sorry, just polite, and Weismann is rather amused by this Blue King that he’s never met before. Munakata says he’s come to give Weismann tidings of the Gold King’s death and Weismann’s face gets a bit melancholy as he says he’s aware. Munakata wonders if Weismann regrets not being present for His Excellency’s passing and Weismann laughs softly, supposing he truly is a shabby King who couldn’t be at his old friend’s side at the end. Munakata just takes that in and wonders in that case if Weismann intends to take over for his ‘old friend’ — things will be precarious without the Gold King there to provide balance, and having the Silver King nearby could be a valuable asset.
Weismann shakes his head, he’s long promised to no longer involve himself with the surface world. Munakata frowns, his demeanor becoming somewhat cold as he says it’s unfortunate that Weismann has chosen to abdicate his duty this way. Weismann isn’t insulted by that, he’s well aware that he’s been running away, and he’s too far gone to stop and turn back now. Munakata says in that case he will take his leave, having delivered his message. Weismann agrees to drop him back off but then before Munakata leaves Munakata asks if perhaps they could talk again. Weismann is surprised, it’s been a long time since he’s spoken to anyone from the world of Kings after all, and his initial impulse is to decline. Munakata’s eyes are so intense though and his demeanor so unshakeable that Weismann finds himself nodding — he might like that, if Munakata were to light the candle again, and Weismann will surely come speak with him once more.

Saruhiko has the secret ability to talk to animals
Continuing the saga of ‘Fushimi is a secret Disney Princess’ XD This is why all the animals love him, because he can talk to them and they know all about his sad life. Imagine he’s like actually a Strain but doesn’t know it and even S4 isn’t aware, his abilities are solely being able to talk to and understand animals and it’s such a small little ability that it doesn’t really get picked up on at all. Fushimi himself isn’t sure that he actually has this power, I imagine small Fushimi mentioning it to his parents when he’s all tiny and not aware that this is a weird thing that most people can’t do. Kisa ignores it as an annoying kid thing and Niki of course just laughs and starts teasing him about it, of course a monkey could talk to monkeys. Fushimi’s pretty much convinced himself that he’s just hearing things when he thinks he’s talking to animals, even though imagine he’s constantly surrounded by like birds and mice and squirrels in total princess style he tells himself that they’re just annoying things and he’s definitely not hearing them talk. He doesn’t even tell Yata about it, not wanting Yata to think he’s crazy.
Then when he joins Homra and learns about the existence of Strains he begins to realize what his power really is. I kinda imagine Anna being the one to give him a hint, like they’re alone one day and Fushimi’s trying to ignore the sounds of cats arguing by the bar’s dumpster. Anna looks over at him and says it’s okay, Saruhiko can let himself understand them. Fushimi starts in surprise and Anna looks at him through her marble, saying Saruhiko has been able to hear them for a long time right. Fushimi starts to argue and then clicks his tongue in annoyance as he’s like ‘of course. A Strain.’, like he should have figured this out sooner. After this he becomes somewhat more willing to use his powers even though he still doesn’t tell anyone, Yata thinks Saruhiko has amazing information gathering powers and has no idea that Fushimi has a whole network of pigeons at his disposal.
When he joins S4 Munakata probably does figure it out, he’s been watching Fushimi for some time and realized what even the Golds had overlooked. Fushimi expects Munakata to be displeased with him for keeping a secret but Munakata doesn’t mind at all, keeping a secret weapon close to one’s chest is a splendid bit of strategy. He does expect Fushimi to use his powers as needed for S4 though and I imagine Munakata constantly trying to suggest Fushimi get a fluffy animal companion to assist him, something which Fushimi ignores. Munakata would also like to be on better terms with Kuro the cat and could Fushimi please put in a good word for him, Fushimi is just like ‘no.’ Fushimi also gets sent to deal with all animal Strains after this, imagine him complaining because that’s the third superpowered chicken he’s been sent to handle this week.

NagaShiro with this reference as a prompt:

Imagine AU where Shiro finds the Slate but it turns out that there’s like some kind of cult attached to it, who sacrifice people to the ‘spirit’ of the Slate in order to be protected from the outside world. Shiro is a researcher who’s heard about this group, that they own this fragment of rock that’s said to give people special powers, and he wants to find out more to see if this can be harnessed for the greater good. He’s heard that the people in the village around where the Slate is rumored to exist are insular but he didn’t think that would be so much of a problem, just be friendly and it’s fine. At first it seems like that worked well enough too, he’s welcomed into the village and given food and a nice warm place to sleep.
Except it turns out his food was drugged and he wakes up tied to this fragment of the Slate, intended to be used as a sacrifice to its power. Shiro’s like wait a second I think there was a misunderstanding but the people just say an outsider who knows about the Slate deserves to be sacrificed. Unfortunately the ritual is interrupted by a parrot landing in the magic circle, the next thing Shiro knows a green-haired man in white clothes is standing before him looking curious and the Slate has disappeared. The villagers try to attack the man but he just looks at them and they all disappear on the spot. It turns out Hisui was one of seven ‘Kings’ trapped in pieces of the Slate and somehow the ritual has led him to be bound to Shiro. Shiro is all excuse me what does ‘bound’ mean and Hisui gives a rare smile as he says he is excited to learn more about the outside world, he looks forward to Shiro teaching him.
So Hisui being released has led to instability in the country and now the two of them have to like go on a journey together to find the other pieces of the Slate and awaken them (this all feels oddly familiar to Shiro, who has vague memories of the village he grew up in having a legend about a magic piece of rock and the long-haired spirit who’s supposed to have resided there and may have possibly been bound in the body of an orphaned child but that’s silly, surely just a tale to scare children). The parrot that interrupted the ritual was also affected by it and Hisui can inhabit its body, so imagine a lot of the time as they travel he’s sitting on Shiro’s shoulder in parrot form. He doesn’t so much flirt as he seems unaware of a lot of social norms and is very curious for Shiro to enlighten him, always asking things and not realizing that some of these may be very embarrassing. Shiro is nervous at first but he starts to find that this isn’t so bad of an arrangement, Hisui is an intriguing person — though it would be easier if his eyes weren’t so striking and if he wasn’t constantly so close, because Shiro is becoming entranced and that can’t be good, right.
