Whenever someone reblogs one of my posts and tags it #worm, I'm never sure whether they're expressing sympathy, or claiming that the thing I'm talking about happens in the web serial of the same name, and frankly I don't care to find out.

The most interesting thing about the present reverse Tumblr exodus is the sharp uptick in posts where somebody reblogs an ongoing discussion with a long addition that isn’t actually responding to anything in particular, it’s just rambling at length about their personal feelings regarding the general topic of the discussion. It’s like they’ve got the basic idea that you’re supposed to engage, but the distinction between commenting and conversing remains elusive, so they’re just remarking on the thread itself as though they were posting in the comments section of a YouTube video.

This absolutely is the best aspect of Meowstic. The rest is pretty good too, but Espurr is just so adorable and good.

Not as much as Medicham by any means, it’s just the only other Pokemon I dislike. This one is pretty subjective.

It’s Indeedee. I just… it’s very plainly just a discount Meowstic, which is one of my favorite Pokemon. Both are psychic type cat things with weird head projections that differ in roles based on their gender, but Meowstic:

1) Did it first2) Brought us Espurr3) Had much cooler designs (folding ears that conceal eye shaped glowing psychic glands vs …horns)4) Had much more significantly differing movepools with more interesting moves learned between the two5) Also had unique Hidden Abilities from each other6) Were unique in that the male was support based and the female was attacking based, as the reverse of this tended to be true in any similar gender counterparts (Nidoqueen/king, Tauros vs Miltank, etc)7) Weren’t version exclusives that have a frustratingly low spawn rate

Meanwhile, Indeedee:

1) Is a copycat (heh)2) Doesn’t even have a cute or meme-able pre evolution3) Has a super boring design comparatively with regard to its psychic organs4) Basically shares the same movepool, and between the two just learn various Psychic moves5) Share a Hidden Ability (and robbed better Psychic types of this Generation from being able to use it since theyre only giving 1 line each the Terrain abilities)6) Stick to the same old functions with regard to gender forms7) Are version exclusives with a frustratingly low spawn rate

The only conceptual differences in favor of Indeedee is that the genders have very slightly differing stats.

Dislike isn’t even the right word for how I feel about them, it’s more just like disappointing. Every other Pokemon is unique enough to stand on its own but this is just a poor man’s version of Meowstic. 

There’s many Pokemon that share similar concepts but even if the execution is also somewhat similar, there’s always something about it, design wise, that’s different in some meaningful way. Like, Skarmory and Corviknight are both “large metal bird” and Drednaw and Carracosta are both “bitey Water/Rock turtles)”, but they have very distinct feels to them. That, or the design concept is simple enough that it makes sense we’d have a lot of them, like “large bulky Rock type” or “small cute rodent” or something

But Indeedee really feels like a straight “hey lemme borrow your homework, don’t worry I’ll change it so it’s not obvious I copied” situation. Like I don’t know if they did intentionally base it off of Meowstic (unlikely), or it just happened to work that way, but thinking about what other designs may have been scrapped so that Indeedee could be added to the game annoys me.

if anyone would like to learn a couple tricks for carving pumpkins:

- dont cut out the top to scoop out the seeds, cut out the bottom instead. this way the pumpkin doesnt cave in on itself and lasts longer - sprinkle some cinnamon inside at the top after carving. this way when you put the candle in it smells like pumpkin pie
