Change, the way ahead

Writing after a while, I feel emotional as I prepare to bid goodbye to Hyderabad, the city of biryani’s and the city that helped me heal! Some short term changes are definitely planned, and some long term goals still remain un-achieved! Today is the day I get the preparations underway. As I look to my companion of 3 years, the Blue Belle (My TVS Apache 160 RTR), who was always reliable and gave me such confidence  of being able to transform from a quiet daily rider to a thrill machine at a moments notice, I never knew how a year went by!

2nd Anniversary with the blue belle!

I have detailed my reasons to buy the Apache 160 RTR in my previous post, but I am surprised to observe that it has actually been two years since I first laid eyes on this matte blue beauty! Even today, when she stands all shiny and clean, I can’t help but lose myself for a couple of minutes in deep thought pondering over the times she has been such a delight to ride!

28000 kilometres, countless surges from 0 to 100, three falls (twice, thanks to the wonderful people around us with no road sense and once due to my own mistake), multiple reliable and noteworthy servicing sessions from TVS and I still have a smile plastered on my face every time I twist the throttle to hear the engine rev up with the anticipation of the immediate acceleration she is capable of in gear. It’s been an eventful two years with multiple Nerul-Pune rides being the only long rides I have taken her to apart from the daily runs from Nerul to Thane and I have never once been disappointed with the performance. The brutal acceleration, the immediate stopping power and the consistent mileage are all factors which have kept me wanting more. Happy Anniversary, my Blue Beast! Long may our romance continue….

It's been a year!

It's been a year since I got her, But I cannot caress her, Foolishly braking, Skidding and falling, Injuries my self and her, Oh how I wish I took better care of her. In the workshop she is, Striped bare to the chasis, Replacing her front forks, Mudguard and handlebars, Grown I have as a biker, Oh how I wish I took better care of her. The thrum of her heartbeat, The steady addictive beat, It's no mean feat, To ride so hard and not heat, Sharper than a needle, stronger than a horse, Oh how I wish I took better care of her. The shimmer of blue, I know it's true, You have racing DNA, Perfection in every way, Mileage or power, You are the RTR unleashed!
