Mini thing about gatekeeping
So what is gatekeeping? According to Lexico gatekeeping is defined as “ The activity of controlling, and usually limiting, general access to something.”
Gatekeeping is often used as a buzzword in communities to reflect negatively on people who exclude others. You might know this best from the stereotypical “You’re wearing a Nirvana shirt? Name 3 songs that aren’t Teen Spirit!”
Gatekeeping can be harmful and can be damaging to a community and those in it.
But gatekeeping is also necessary.
Should cishets be considered LGBT? Should heterosexuality fall under LGBT? Should cisgender fall under LGBT?
If you answered “no”, congrats, you are gatekeeping.
Gatekeeping walks a fine line between necessity and cruelty. You should always be careful to make sure you aren’t being to restrictive but you should also recognize that it isn’t always a bad thing.
I guess what I’m saying is to stop using the term “gatekeeping” or “gatekeeper” as a way to insult someone or to deflect their arguments.

What are Transmeds and Tucutes?
Some terms in my own words:
Gender Dysphoria (also referred to as internalized screaming): distress/discomfort caused by one feeling a disconnection from their sex assigned at birth.
Gender Incongruence: a feeling that one’s body does not match ones internalized gender and therefore disconnected from their sex assigned at birth
Nondysphoric: A person who identifies as trans but claims to not experience dysphoria.
MOGAI: Marginalized Orientations Gender Alignme:nt and Intersex. Commonly talked about when referring to obscure identities and sexualities.
Neopronouns: Any pronoun that is not he/him, she/her, or they/them (Xe/Xir is a common example or Ey/Em)
Tucute (also sometimes called Transsocialist or transoc): holds the belief that you do not need gender dysphoria to be trans. Believe you need gender incongruence to be trans.
Transmeds (also sometimes refered to as Truscum): holds the belief that you need gender dysphoria to be trans. Believe that gender dysphoria and gender incongruence are one and the same.
Common misconceptions about Tucutes:
-All tucutes are nondysphoric
-All Tucutes support/identify as MOGAI
-All tucutes support/identify with neopronouns
-All Tucutes are non binary
-Tucutes are all just cis girls who want to be “special”
Common misconceptions about Transmeds:
-All transmeds hate MOGAI
-All Transmeds hate neopronouns
-All transmeds view tucutes are “transtrenders”
-Transmeds will not respect neopronouns/will misgender you if they don’t think you’re trans enough
-All transmeds are mini Kalvin Garrahs
These terms are purely about beliefs on how dysphoria relates to transness. Groups may have overlapping ideologies but that does not mean these are required ideologies to fit these labels.
