You know. Icarus found the prison book - the one that tells them just how *alone* they are - when they were with Ven. They weren't alone then, were they? Actually, they had *Ven* when they found that book. Guess what happened - Icarus is very alone now, and it's because *Ven* left. Ven - the same person who found that book with them, *told them* they aren't alone - *left them there.* (They know why - Gods how they know why, and gods how they just want to do the same. But even knowing *why* they're still- they're still *alone.*)

i really really really like the fact that ven offered to help get ari away from fable and to a safe place if she needed it, and then ari was the one to get ven away from fable and to a safe place when he needed it

They had one thing left - one person left - and now they don't. Now they *fucking* don't - Because Icarus doesn't know how to hold people closer than arms reach, and gods how they don't know how to keep someone there if they did. And maybe Ven wormed his way into their heart - maybe Ven became the person Icarus leaned on because at some point picking up your own pieces feels *useless* and maybe so so many things. But one things is for certain, and that's that ven was the *only* person Icarus had left. He was the only person that *wanted* them - wanted them there and to love them and to care for them. (Not needed - because ven didn't,*need* shit. Fable needs them there - fable doesn't fucking *want* them there.) He was the only person. And now he's not there, because no one every stays. Icarus is alone again because of course they are - they're always *alone.* They lost the one person keeping them not alone - and the second he was gone they *broke*, because what little semblance of a person they had become and what little semblance of love and care they felt was just. gone.

Icarus is alone again - they lost the only person still keeping them upright. The second he left they just. Collapsed.

The second, well- second depending on how you look at the resets- being far to many times and this time, after finding his own grave, realizing his mistakes and what Fable's done to him before

That all in the end, Fable was just gonna kill him again

And the parallels of what Ven wrote in that book and what he was telling Rae and Fenris and Ulysses on what they could do to them-

Characters: Icarus & Ven Spoliers for Grave Mistake This one is a lot shorter than most and also my first time writing ship stuff in a really long time but have wetbirds kiss, but still be tragic

Icarus and Ven are in the hallway, Icarus knows they are alone now with their father and this is the best option for Ven. Even if they wished for him to stay, wished that the one truly good thing that comes out of this base, this group doesn't leave them. But they understand.

But it doesn't stop it from hurting as Ven walks to the exit.

"I kind of wish we could have been something" Ven spoke the weight of all he has learn present in his voice.

"Wait!" Before Icarus even knew what they were doing they ran up to him. "If-if we could be something then-" They pulled Ven closed and kissed him on the lip. His lips were soft was the first thing that Icarus noted. The second was that Ven was pulling away from their embrace and that it was him who deepen it. Icarus was the one to leave it, slightly embarrassed but content.

"I-i'm sorry, I should have asked, and not just done that, but your leaving and-" It was Ven who kissed them going slightly on his tippy toes to reach their mouth.

"It's alright Icarus, I just wished we could of had this for longer" Tears went down both of their faces.

"Yeah… Stay safe out there."

"I will, Bye Icarus"

"Bye, Ven." And now they truly were alone.
