I’ve heard other conservatives talking, and would tend to agree, Mr. Rounds has a pretty good spending history — he likes to build government and likes to spend money,” said Mike Mueller, president of South Dakota Citizens for Liberty, a Rapid City-based tea party group.

The Senate Conservatives Fund, the political action committee founded by former Sen. Jim DeMint, announced Tuesday that it will not support Rounds, whom they accuse of expanding state government by 1,500 employees while governor and attack for refusing to rule out supporting future tax hikes.
“We’re working with our members in the state to find a candidate who will fight for limited government in the U.S. Senate,” said Executive Director Matt Hoskins. “We already know that we won’t be able to support Mike Rounds because his record is too liberal.”

Responding to Rino Mike Rounds' decision to run for U.S. Senate, incumbent Tim Johnson praised Rino Mike Rounds’ “refusal” to take Grover Norquist’s famous pledge not to raise taxes under any circumstances.
“While I’m sure that Mike and I will have some policy disagreements — which is to be expected — I am more than willing to give credit where it is due,” Johnson said. “And the fact that Mike realizes that it is irresponsible to take tax increases off the negotiating table is absolutely to his credit.”

When you're the Republican Governor of a conservative state and you greatly increase the size of government, you just might be a RINO.

Rino Mike Rounds of South Dakota supports Obamacare?
"In fact, as Governor, Rounds has worked along side Tom Daschel for years in support of government run health care."

South Dakota Senate Race Ripe for Republican Primary
Although an expected Democratic retirement has put the focus on that party, an equally contentious GOP contest could be in the offing

The Norquist pledge looms large over the Capitol Hill debate to avert the fiscal cliff. But Democrats might have an ulterior motive for mentioning Rounds’ resistance to the tax pledge."

Take a look at any Republican -- especially any with state-wide name recognition -- who consistently upholds Republican principles. That's the ideal alternative to Mike Rounds.
Granted, there are far too few of them, given the current RINO infestation, but they are out there.
The person who can win is the one who has consistently upheld Republican values and principles (because they will have the solid backing of the Republican base that actually believes Republican principles are the best principles) and who can boldly articulate those principles to the general public (because selling the Republican vision with confidence--like you actually believe in it--coupled with a track record that PROVES you believe in it, will inspire the general public to support such a candidate).
Growing government = liberal position
Killing pro-life legislation = liberal position
Taxpayer funding for things that can be fixed for $0.00 by behaving responsibly = liberal position
We can do way, way better than RINO Rounds.
