I've been recently thinking about Twilight's canonical characteristics (I'm honestly not sure if they are canonical, but still), and I need to know how he pulls off being muscular, pretty and a sweet innocent soul? Okay, I don't know about that innocent part, considering what he's been through but you get me, right?
ALSO I really need to know about one thing in this fandom! Was there some kind of unanimous agreement that Time calls Twilight pup or where did headcanon come from?

So recently, I have been watching a good amount of Zelda lore and theory videos, and it made me think and realise that Twilight is one of the only Links who was born with the piece of Triforce in his hand. Like at the beginning, we can see Triforce shape on his hand, but it looks more like a birthmark.
What I remember from the videos, almost every Link had to earn the Triforce of Courage through trials and challenges except for Twilight. This may be connected to the fact that Twilight is a direct descendant to Time, and this would mean that the Triforce of Courage, after Time's adventures, just naturally passes on to the future generation. Honestly, I don't know if that even makes sense, but it is something that is quite interesting.
Also, it would be an interesting conversation among the Links. Like everyone else says that they had to earn the Triforce piece, and Twilight probably would feel awkward and say that he's had his piece since birth.

I have to admit that I haven't got a chance to play Twilight Princess 😅
Plus, at the moment, I don't think I can spend money on the correct console for TP because of rent and other stuff
I just thought about how oddly sad it is that Twilight didn't know that other people like him existed until his adventure when he was... 16? 17? And the thought that he tried to make friends some of the other hylians only to be looked down upon because he's from a small ranch village.
Twilight most likely thinks how fortunate he was to be raised as an ordonian and not a hylian. If he was raised as a hylian, would he have also become a rude, pompous bastard like most of the other hylians? How is he supposed to see hylians as his people when they don't even see him as one of their own?

I guess this one counts as a fanfic prompt post, but these are something that I thought would be interesting:
Twilight and Epona going through a portal and somehow get separated. Twilight is on his own and Epona comes across these eight strangers who look exactly like her master and has a crisis over it. Cue Epona being an absolute menace to the Chain until they find Twilight and Epona is all happy because she has reunited with her master.
Fluff? Crack? Angst? I don't know
I have read fics where Fierce Deity is either out for blood and kills everyone and everything in his way, including the Chain or he is caring towards the Chain and looks after them like a father. What about a really possessive Fierce Deity? He looks after the Chain but won't allow any of them to get out of his sight. This makes patrolling difficult for the Chain. Fierce Deity's possessiveness gets to the point where he is pretty much unintentionally holding the Chain hostage.
This could work as an angst fic.

Really!? Wow, TP Link just gets more and more badass! Why hasn't anyone written fics about that?
I am still alive, just busy with life. And I come here with some random thoughts:
1. I remember watching a TP playthrough, I believe it was from Justinbae, and I found out through that that if you time your sword attack right you can deflect arrows with a SWORD! How cool is that!
2. I know that magic armor is kinda useless in TP but in my opinion TP Link looks pretty good in red. The gold is a nice touch too.
3. The amount of books TP Link has. He most likely likes reading and probably has a journal and/or sketch book.
4. TP Link is probably a decent cook. He has soup in a pot over a fire. If we ignore the fact that the pot has been over the fire for at least a few weeks or maybe a month and the soup has probably somehow burnt, but video game logic is weird.
With that said, surely Twilight has a journal or sketch book with him that he takes out when the Chain takes a break and probably volunteers to make food every once in a while.

Twilight was released from the bruising grip after walking out of the dark portal. The area where the shadow took him looked and felt serene. It was greatly unnerving.
"Now then, about your dear ancestor, he was an extraordinary swordsman. His name is praised among those living in the dark." The way that the shadow turned to look at him reminded Twilight of someone who hasn't seen a family member in years. "Listen here, whoever this man is that you're claiming is my 'real' ancestor are false. The Hero of Time is my ancestor and that's final!"
"D'aaww, look at you, still living in your little delusions~." The shadow was pinching his cheek! The audacity! Twilight went to reach for his sword but was stopped by a strong grip. "Ah ah ah ah ah, not so fast, little darkling. We need to clear your mind from Hero of Time's lies before you take your sword."
Twilight was frustrated but knew that he was no match to the shadow alone. Reluctantly, he lowered his arm and the shadow softened its grip. "There we go." When was the last time when Twilight felt this powerless against evil?
"What happened to your great-great grandfather can only be described as tragic. Murdered in cold blood. Left to rot and to be forgotten by the world." The shadow hugged Twilight as if to comfort him. But honestly, Twilight couldn't find it in himself to feel sad about someone who he has never met. "And the one who murdered him was the Hero of Time. He didn't look back, didn't have a feeling of remorse, he left with a cruel smile on his face."
"You are just telling me a fairytale, you haven't told me or shown any evidence that I'm related to this man that you look up to." The response that Twilight got was accompanied with fingers combing through his hair: "Was the colour of your blood not enough proof?" "You could have done some freaky magic to make me disturbed and therefore a much easier target to your lies."
The hug got tighter and there was a dark chuckle. "If only there was a way to travel back in time where your ancestor is still alive, would you believe me then?" The sentence was said in a way that made Twilight think the shadow was expecting that he wouldn't believe it. And as far as he knew, the only member of the Chain who could travel back in time was Time.
--------------------------------------------
THE CHILD OF DARKNESS!! That shall be this au's name! All I needed to do was listen to some epic music and my brain did the rest.
Dink has evil plans and Twilight is not liking it.

Shade was driving on the quiet road, exhausted and frustrated. He had to overwork. Again. His work payed well but recently he has been thinking about finding a new job. No one seemed to do their share of the work so it all fell on Shade to do everything. He could only hope that Twilight is in bed and not waiting for him in the kitchen.
Shade finally parked his car in front of his house and noticed that there was one light on in the house. The kitchen light. 'Of course he's in the kitchen.' He has told Twilight that he doesn't need to wait for him on these days when he has extra work but, well, bad habits die hard.
Twilight was, in fact, in the kitchen sleeping on the table. Across from him was a plate with two appetising breads which were clearly for Shade. Shade couldn't help letting a fond smile creep up on his face. He always worried that Twilight would get tired of him working late almost everyday but every time when he came home Twilight always greeted him with a smile. He really needs to stop listening to what other people say. His coworkers always lamented how hard it is for a child to be alone for so long because his father doesn't have time for him. Even his younger brother, Time, often said that Shade is a terrible father to Twilight. Dark... well Shade doesn't know what Dark would say, he hasn't seen him in for years and would prefer to keep it that way.
After eating the breads, Shade picked Twilight up and carried him upstairs. They share the same bedroom which is very uncommon and unheard-of that a sixteen year old still sleeps in the same room as their parents. Well, parent. Shade had said that they can turn one of their rooms into Twilight's bedroom but he refused. Instead, they got another bed in their bedroom so that Twilight can have his own bed but still be with his father.
Just as Shade lowered Twilight on to his bed, the boy stirred a bit. "Mm... dad?" Shade hummed. "I'm here, little pup." Twilight rubbed his eyes a little before opening them. "How was work?" The father chuckled. "Same old, nothing interesting, only boring work." The son let out a tired laugh. "Have you considered getting a new job?" A playful scoff. "And have you considered fixing your sleep schedule before highschool?" A dramatic groan. "I don't wanna go to school." Shade shook his head fondly. "You don't have much of a choice, pup. Now, off to Dreamland with you." Just as he said those words, Twilight was out like a torch.
It was these tender moments that made Shade think that he is a lucky man to have a son like Twilight. He may not be a perfect father or a perfect role model, but he was good enough in Twilight's eyes. His job may be tiring and frustrating but coming home to see his son waiting for him always managed to make him feel warm inside. And with these warm thoughts, he got ready for bed.
----------------------------------------------
I tried my hand on a modern linked universe au. It's not good but it was pretty fun to write.
Little info on present and mentioned characters:
Shade: single father of Twilight, visits Rusl and Uli whenever possible, has a... complicated relationship with Time.
Twilight: only child of Shade, Time is his uncle and Wild is his biological cousin, honestly prefers to spend time with uncle Rusl than uncle Time.
Time: husband of Malon, biological father of Wild and has adopted other children (gee, I wonder who these other children are), the only reason why he contacted Shade again is because of Twilight.
Dark: Older twin brother of Time, could possibly be a wanted criminal, pretty much disappeared without a trace.

Now, I might be wrong about this, but some of the fics that I've read about one of the heroes getting exposed to dark magic or getting possessed, it feels like with every member of the Chain the dark magic is like "give yourself to me, mortal, and I will give you unimaginable power". But with Twilight it feels like majority of the time it's more like this: "Oh, little baby. Come home to the darkness, you don't belong in the world of light." It's honestly a little scary

They were surrounded by black blooded monsters. It was a near perfect ambush. They came out of nowhere when the Chain put down their guard after a week of no attacks. And what followed was a really tiring battle.
Twilight found himself facing the Shadow near the end of the fight. It didn't have the form of the lizalfos but a form near identical to him and his brothers. It was a little freaky. He readied to attack when suddenly, "Ah-CHOO!"
Silence fell over the battlefield. "Ah-CHOO!" Twilight was sneezing. Sneezing! In the middle of a battle! He couldn't get sick now!
Twilight raised his head to face the Shadow to see something... really unusual. It was making a nest of sticks and surrounded them with rocks. Its movements looked really frantic like it wasn't sure what it should do.
Twilight wasn't sure if he zoned out or passed out when he suddenly found himself sitting by a fresh campfire. A moment later he was wrapped in a warm blanket accompanied by hands hugging him from behind. "GET YOUR FILTHY HANDS OFF OF HIM!" That sounded like the captain, or was it possibly Time? The hands and the body behind him disappeared but was quickly replaced by another warm body. "Pup, how are you feeling?" Twilight's answer was a sniffle and another sneeze.
The rest of the day for Twilight was spent sitting by the fire, eating soup, drinking warm milk and every now and then hearing one of his brothers say "back off!" to the Shadow, possibly. Why was it even concerned about Twilight's health?
------------------------------------------
I think there might be a small increase in crack-like stuff because my practice in a workplace is going to start soon and I'm really stressed about it.
Anyway, have a sneezing Twilight

I have at least two thoughts:
One: what would happen if someone, who hasn't been blessed by the goddesses, touched the Shadow crystal. Twilight turns into a wolf, as we all know, and Legend turned into a bunny when he touched it. But what about 'normal' people? Would they turn into a wandering soul with no way to get back their flesh and blood? Would they turn into a monster? Or would they die?
Two: Surely Twilight fears water in some level, right? The Lakebed Temple? There were so many things in the water that wanted to kill him. The clams looked terrifying, the jellyfish were pretty as well, skullfish that were like piranhas, fishbombs. And of course Morpheel. I would be traumatised after swimming in an enclosed space with a creature that is 100 times my size and could eat me whole.
And a little bit of crack:
------------------------------------------
Time: Who are you?
Shade: I'm you but a much better mentor.
Time: Oh, how so?
Shade: Twilight would have died within a week if I wasn't there to guide him.
Time: I'm a better father figure than you.
Shade: How so?
Time: I'm a comforting shoulder for Twilight.
Twilight: *standing between Shade and Time with confused puppy dog eyes* What is going on?

Months ago I posted a post about a 'what if' situation of a Twilight Princess sequel. Recently, I've started listening to some epic video game music and that got me thinking what if a LoZ antagonist was just some dude. No special powers, not a dark lord, not a demon. Just a dude who is just insane.
And this got me back to thinking about a what if Twilight Princess sequel (that I may or may not have in my head partly fleshed out) and thought what if the antagonist is not just insane, but also a "worshipper" of Hylia and they take it to an extreme level. The extreme level? Anyone, who has not been created in Hylia's image must be get rid of so they can be reborn in Hylia's image. (Yes, there is a reason why worshipper is in quotes)

The Chain were in the rancher's Hyrule and were currently fighting monsters that none of them recognised. They had green skin, they all had a scarf covering their face and they used either a club or a bow as weapons.
They were just about reaching the upper hand until Twilight came out of nowhere and shouted: "STOP!" Both parties stopped fighting and turned to look at the rancher.
"Rancher, they're monsters! They need to be killed before they cause trouble to the innocents!" Warriors said, confused and a bit betrayed. Twilight simply walked to them, standing in between the Chain and the monsters. He turned to the monsters and... started signing to them?
Everyone were confused, and that confusion only increased when one of the monsters signed back. The sign language was unfamiliar to the Chain, it varied from smooth hand motions to really aggressive motions.
After a while Twilight turned back to the Chain. "Y'all want roasted meat?" What? Legend was the one who found his voice first. "What do you mean by that? And what the fuck were you talking about?"
"They thought that you were going to take over their territory so they tried to chase you away, but instead, they had to fight you because you didn't take the warning shot seriously. I told them that you are travelling with me and that you haven't had good experiences with monsters. So they're apology to us is to offer us some freshly roasted meat"
The Chain now stared at Twilight with confusion and disbelief. "Pup, can you at least tell us what these monsters are and why do they listen to you?" Time asked, these monsters had to special if Twilight actually trusted them.
"These are bulblins, and I'm an acquaintance of their king, King Bulblin. Now, it's better to accept their apology if you don't want to them again." The rancher kept his answer short and... somewhat informative. So with no other choice, the Chain followed the bulblins to their temporary camp to have some actually good meat.
------------------------------------------
This is something just for fun. I like to imagine that Twilight sometimes hangs out with bulblins when he comes across them and the bulblins taught him their sign language. Let the confusion begin among the Links.

BOOM! Another post! My brain is really energetic right now!
So I do remember reading fics where the Chain meet the Resistance, and I thought it would be cool to see the Chain watching the Resistance in action. Rusl is a talented swordsman even without complex and flashy sword techniques, Ashei is a really good archer with incredible aim, Auru is a wise old man with a god damn bazooka, Shad may not be a fighter but he does love literature and I would believe is also really good at reading maps so he probably knows of secret passages around Hyrule and use them to the team's advantage. I'm a little unclear if Telma is part of the Resistance but she does know how to control a horse pulling a cart, she would be an amazing getaway driver.
Link, or Twilight, and the Resistance are a literal vigilante group who do more for the kingdom of Hyrule than the royal guard, they deserve a bit of an action spotlight.

Just woke up fully, my brain is whirring and I just watched a Game Grumps compilation of Dan talking about his dad and my brain went:
"Twilight talking about his adoptive dad aka Rusl when he remembers something or something reminds him of Rusl's funny shenanigans, and talks about him and the things that made and still make Twilight laugh, and maybe a little jealousy from Time who thinks 'I can be funny too'. But with the stories that Twilight tells from his home and Rusl, the entire chain want to meet the villagers of Ordon and find out if Twilight is just making shit up"
I honestly do want to see a father rivalry between Time and Rusl to see who's a better father for Twilight.

Warriors: So, rancher. How did your adventure begin?
Twilight: Well, I was supposed to deliver a sword as a tribute to the royal family but monsters attacked and took the children and Ilia and even my precious Epona. So I ran after them without a weapon, came across a dark wall, was dragged through that wall and turned into a wolf.
Time: ...Pup. Did you say that you ran after monsters? Without a weapon?
Twilight: Uhh, yeah?
Time: ...
Twilight: *runs away*
Time: *runs after Twilight* HERO OF TWILIGHT, YOU GET BACK HERE RIGHT NOW!!
