spooky little extract about jimmy from bebe buell’s book “rebel heart.” ♡:
“I had one last memorable encounter with Jimmy Page. We spoke on the phone one day- he was in London and I was in New york- and at the end of what seemed like a brief, lighthearted conversation, he told me that he would send me a sign at midnight. Being three thousand miles away and not as caught up in his web as i had been in London, I did not give it much thought. Later that afternoon, my girlfriend Jeanne Theis and I drove up to Woodstock... Around 11:30, we started guessing what Jimmy’s sign was going to be. Would he send somebody to the house with a message? Or would it involve another phone call? We were sitting in the small dining room when, on the stroke of midnight- i swear- we heard a crash upstairs. It could only have come from the bathroom. Rushing up there, we discovered that the large antique wood-framed oval mirror that had been carefully hung above the sink had been hurled a good ten feet across the room and lay shattered at the edge of the sunken bathtub…To this day, I have absolutely no idea what force could have propelled the twenty-pound mirror clear across the room…When i returned to Woodstock in the daytime, the first thing I did was have the house exorcised.”

Bebe Buell on Jimmy Page (extract from her book “rebel heart”) ♡

“I was very attracted to Jimmy Page. He was my type - very dashing, very English, very Renaissance. He had that otherworldly, other time vibe. If you fantasised about being a princess and having a prince come and sweep you off your feet and take you on horseback to his castle, Jimmy Page was Sir Lancelot. What girl wouldn’t enjoy that fantasy, even if it was only for a week? We went out to dinner at expensive restaurants every night. We went shopping. Jimmy liked to go to metaphysical/astrology book shops. We spent a lot of time in bed. We stayed up all night, hanging out, doing drugs, talking with Robert, Peter, Richard, and their entourages. Sometimes, I would do a little cocaine; other times i would say no. I think Jimmy found that refreshing.”
“He had a medieval attitude - not macho, but manly. The image he projected was: ‘I would stab - not shoot, but stab - any dragon for you.’ If I could have been Jimmy Page’s girlfriend, I would have been. If Jimmy Page had asked me to leave Todd, I would have. But in the end, he didn’t.”
