i want it to sink in that cliff's only canonical non-retconned love interest is a trans woman. i want doom patrol fans to embed that in their brains. kate's existence does not solely revolve around cliff and she is a wonderful and complex character in her own right but you would think that fans of a superhero that's existed for almost exactly sixty years would want to talk about her a little more instead of sweeping her under the rug at every opportunity.

the thing about gar logan is he kinda is a little bit of a selfish prick. or at least he starts out that way. he doesn't want to join the doom patrol to be a selfless hero, he wants to join them cus he feels like a freak and wants to be with people who are like him. he also wants to join them to get freedom from galtry, who is ironically the one thing PREVENTING him from joing the DP in the first place. and yeah technically those are selfish motives.

and those motives arent BAD, but he IS also just. kind of a little brat, he genuinely doesnt go into it bc he wants to HELP people at first, that stuff comes later, he just wants to be a superhero bc he WANTS TO. so yeah he starts out as kind of a selfish little brat! and i think thats actually VERY IMPORTANT to make his character as compelling as he can be

idk im not making any sense this isnt like, a well thought out meta post or anything just some thoughts i had idk
