A new orchid stem- a new life, the promise of more beautiful orchids yet to bloom. This was my first orchid and I didnt know how to take care of it. I basically tortured this plant in my phal orchid learning curve. For about 2 years this plant was almost at the brink of death. For the past two years I have also been in a very low place (though not the brink of death). I thought this plant would never try to blossom again. I thought maybe it had given up on being its fully expressed and beautiful self. Perhaps it would not recover from the less ideal circumstances that caused it to grow dark green leaves and gnarly roots. Me and this orchid are on a parallel. I hope that this is a sign that i can look forward to beautiful blooms in my life as well. #plantlife #indoorgardening #urbangardening #phaleonopsisorchids #orchids #orchidlife

2016 sucked. You all may not have any idea how difficult it can be to get a phal orchid to bloom again, but this one did. This was a rescue orchid from a clearance bin and it is the only orchid i have that has continued to bloom time and again. I find the timing of this bloom to be symbolic of a new start. Happy New Year all. Make the best of it no matter what.
