So, here’s an idea to try and get more episodes out.

Maybe for the Youtube uploads, I can put up quicker ‘beta’ translations. A bit clunky sounding and fewer rounds of editing, maybe relying more on your standard fill-in-the-blank translations, but they get the point across and you get the episodes quicker.

And then later, when I do the full release with hard or softsubs, I can use the time to do improved translations (like I’m already doing with older episodes).

Kirby’s Rainbow Resort back up and its new interactive fandom contest

On March 31, 2016, Kirby’s Rainbow Resort, the greatest Kirby fansite ever created, was updated. The Kirby’s Rainbow Resort Forums, which were also taken down on Febuary 12, 2016, were brought back up. The forum registerations are open again. The longtime running poll about a Kirby’s Rainbow Resort podcast can now be voted on again. Once again, could also register for a Rainbow Resort Passport account on this fansite (as it was in the past since 2009).

There was also a new Mailbag Manga comic titled ““Return 2 KRR”.

The new Interactive Fandom Contest on Kirby’s Rainbow Resort is called “”Different Double”. In this contest, you must create an alternate version of an existing enemy from the Kirby games that gives a different ability and modified appearance. It will last from April until May.

We need to get word out that Kirby’s Rainbow Resort is back up. I recommend that any Kirby fans on Tumblr reblog this post ASAP.

I’m not affiliated with KRR in any way, but I want this message spread out to make KRR to become a new home for Kirby fans. Yes, we have /r/Kirby, Meta Naito, other Nintendo forums, etc., but this place can, once again, be the home of the Kirby fandom. This is paramount. Join that site and its forum. It’s no longer the Rainbow Resort without rainbows when it came to a standstill. This is only the beginning of its revival. Kirby fans, the future of this site rests in your hands.

Kirby’s Rainbow Resort revival news promotion round-up

I thank you all for reblogging my post about the revival of Kirby’s Rainbow Resort. Although I didn’t get as much notes as I expected, I still appreciate the help that you all provided. I wish the biggest Kirby Tumblr blogs such as Ker222 and A Kirby Adventure blogged about this, though. There were so many positive reactions that made my day. Your help means a lot to me. Hopefully, one day, Kirby’s Rainbow Resort will become great again.

The Different Double contest, in which you create an alternate version of an existing Kirby enemy, is going very well. There have already been 15 submissions. What are your favorite submissions. My favorite submissions were Von Veno by Iko-kun and Saizo by Daimyo-KoiKoi.

I look forward to see any of you on the main site or forums.

This is one of the happiest times I’ve ever had. It made me feel that getting into Kirby was worth it. From 2011-2014, when I used to be obsessed with Angry Birds, I never took part of being in the online vocal fandom. With Kirby, it has taken me much farther than I ever thought it would. I always hoped that Kirby wasn’t a dead end. I got to join the online vocal Kirby fandom by registering at The Kirby Club in 2015. I started out bad, but I’ve matured quickly. That site was shut down, and I was part of the problems and reasons. In July 2015, I joined Reddit after the death of Satoru Iwata to offer condolences and make new friends at /r/Kirby. The administrator of a recently created Kirby forum, Meta Naito, even offered me and another dedicated fan of the site to be moderators. I thank him for that; I have never expected to get that far. I was glad to join the Rainbow Resort forums although it was during the most depressing times. When the forums became inaccessible on Febuary 12, 2016, I thought it was the downfall of the Kirby fandom that would have been impossible to avert. I hereby declare that January 21, 2016 and Febuary 12, 2016, are the days of infamy for the Kirby fandom. March 31, 2016 is a date that Kirby fans shall remember, for the website that they loved to death rose like a phoenix from the ashes.

Expect to see more Kirby’s Rainbow Resort news soon.

The 15 year anniversary of this show is NEXT YEAR and I plan to finish subbing it before then. I’ve got some great people to help me so I think we can do it!

Students: He likes her!

Me: Now they are around 11 or 12 and he grabs her arm and wrestles her to the ground even though she calls him a jerk and yells at him to leave her alone.

Students: That is just how boys are.

Me: Now they are 18 and he grabs her arm and--

Students: Oh, that's not okay.

Me: Really? How would he know? How would she know? How would you know? You just told me that for the first 17 years of these children's lives that you thought it was cute, sweet, and natural for a boy to grab a girl and be rough with her.
