My eyes scan the empty, metaphorical space before me, searching for something in the midst of nothing.

That nothing he feels I deserve.

The mere mention of his existence sickens me to my very core; summons bile to the back of my throat, as acidic, and repugnant as he himself.

On the average day, allowing even a sliver of his name to enter my mind would cost another $10 out of the company account for a replacement pack of pens... and I am not terribly interested in explaining to Wil just why I keep losing my writing utensils... not that my destructive habits are any of his business.

I sigh.

...perhaps I ought to set this one down.

I am no pawn, I tell myself. Not anymore, never was I, and never will I be.

I have wanted this for so long, yet here I sit with mere fo—

My tongue clicks inside my mouth to express trepidation.

This is not something I should be thinking. Not here. Not now.

Those I have at my disposal, rather, my allies, are not to be discarded or deployed without care.

There is something to be gained from this, and for each of us, not only me, as I must remind myself frequently.

Bare feet pad softly as you approach the altar ;; as you glide amongst the barren winter trees ;; as you come to kneel before a throne of darkness. 

Your heart flutters like a butterfly caught in his hands, yet there is stillness and surrender in the way you carry yourself. Lips softly parted, quiet breaths. 

Light the candles ;; brush away the snowfall ;; bow your head in reverence. 

Every existence and every path runs parallel, tied to him, unified eternally in that you are his. You have always been his, were always meant to be. You always find your way back here, no matter what form and what world your soul may find itself. No matter what form he may manifest. 

Unholy divinity ;; winter heart ;; king of the void. 

In absolute devotion, you worship him.
