Agree each and every word. So much potential, simply just lost. Always wanted to discover what that "fateful encounter" meant. Still a GrayZa shipper in late 2023.

Fairy Tail is a really weird manga for me. I’ve never really been super into it even as a teenager. But for some reason it creeps back into my mind once in awhile. Well, specifically Gray and Erza because their relationship was the only thing I really liked in this hell-scape story. Legit, sometimes I actually feel like writing and drawing stuff for the pairing. But like, I cant do that because I can no longer invest my time into creative work that involves writing and drawing. Also it’s pretty puzzling to me that I’d keep coming back to this garbo series for these two characters lmao.

It’s like, do I really want to waste my time for a manga I’ve never really liked all that much to begin with? For a pairing that was doomed from the start because Mashima is a creator who doesnt care enough to put EFFORT into his writing?

Honestly it’s a damn shame, Gray and Erza have that whole “fated connection” thing going on which is the type of shit I eat up like a bumble bee to pollen lmao.

Like legit Erza just happens to walk into Fairy Tail right after Cana tells Gray that today will be his lucky day? That’s some good shit right there folks. Too bad it never goes anywhere, in a better storyteller’s hands they could have ended up being a really interesting couple.

But yeah anyways I wanted to make this post as like. A final letter to this series so I can completely let it go. I might come back one day with a drawing or a story or something for these two. But lm at a point in my life where I have to let go of things that dont serve my future. And unfortunately, that includes series I have watched and am currently watching. Theyre distractions at this point and I’m never gonna get anywhere unless I completely release myself from them. It sucks but hey, it wont be like this forever!

And to all you Gray/Erza fans still alive in 2019: you’re the real mvps in this nightmare of a fanbase and I respect you. Keep on creating what you love and dont let anyone try to talk down to you. Creative work is difficult whether or not you’re making your own story or making fanart. That shit takes alot of time and effort and it can feel incredibly unrewarding sometimes, especially if you’re making something for a unpopular pairing. So like, again, I really respect you guys! Keep up the good work!
