farewell. my last goodbye
She stands still while hugging Jangmi tight. Jangmi, her best friend, the girl who made her join the MGAs, the girl who had picked her up when she had fallen, she’ll miss her. She feels the tears pressing, and finally lets them roll, the moment she lets them she can hear the sobbing of her best friend. Her mom and dad stand in front of the two with smile planted on their lips, both having tears rolling down their cheeks but trying to hide them behind their fake smiles. Coco lets go of Jangmi, she looks at her mom and dad, drives a hand through her hair.
Life in Korea has been a struggle, sure she has gained lots of friends, and it’s here she became a streamer and instagrammer, but this is also the place who definitely ruined her mentality. She never knew her life could become so sad, that she could change so much and become so vulnerable. Life at first over here was already terrible, she had to leave all her friends behind in the US, and she became weak over here. Completely obsessed over the idea of looking the models in the commercials, continuously thinking she had to lose weight and become pretty like them, every second questioning if she needed surgery, looking at food and telling herself nothing but “you can’t eat that”. She developed god damn anorexia the first couple of months she was here, shouldn’t she already back then have figured out that Korea isn’t the place for her. And look at her, she can barely talk to people without breaking down, people tell her something that isn’t even meant to be rude and she cries her heart out, acts like everything is over. This place ruined her, and when she thought things were getting better, when she was satisfied with her body; they got worse. She began wishing to become like the idols, stopped eating, constantly fainted and needed to be taken to the hospital, and then her grandmother died, the woman who had taken care of her, she died, all become of Coco, because Coco insisted on going out instead of staying at home with her grandmother. And what the fuck did she do two days after her grandmother died? She took those fucking pills, she fucking tried to kill herself, she gave up on life, she fucking said; fuck this bullshit, I’m not doing life anymore. She went as far as to give up, and she only survived because her brother found her in time, and even though she obviously needed him the most at that time, he fucking ran away, he ran off to the US because he missed his home, he left her alone, to fucking rot. And she joined a show, thought she would get better, but now she’s only worse, everything is worse. She needs her brother, she needs to get away, she can’t handle all of this shit anymore.
She looks at her parents, wipes away her own tears, tears should become something in the past now, she doesn’t want to cry a single tear in the future, and hopefully going back home to her brother will help her.
She waves at the three people, smiles her brightest smile “goodbye” she says, and then she turns around, walks away, she’s done.
#rkcoco#she going back to the us so bye bye#TW: sucide mention#tw: anorexia#no i didn't grammar check sorry

pigeons. the devil’s animal
Today is Coco’s birthday, and it’s her first time celebrating it alone. Lot’s of people had offered to spend time with her on her birthday, but she had somehow managed to turn all of them down, she didn’t want to spend time with anybody today, no the person she wanted to hang out with is William, but he was on the other side of the planet, and thus she decided; there is a first time for everything, so there too should be a first time for spending your birthday alone too. She had let herself eat an ice-cream, something she rarely ever did due to her strict diet, she had bought a brush and hair clips for herself, and that was it, so far she was… liking her birthday? Surprisingly she didn’t hate her birthday as much as she thought she would, yeah maybe she was sitting on a bench crying, eating ice-cream but.. oh who was she kidding? She hated it, she had stopped streaming, it had become too much, and she had recently gotten a new roommate, so therefore she couldn’t go home, she was too tired to let them see her cry.
A boy who walked past her looked confused at her but she simply glared at him, he was not allowed to judge her, at least not at the time being. She sat quietly, most hopefully this day couldn’t become worse.
But oh was she wrong, out of nowhere she felt something hard against her head, immediately she pulled up her arms to protect herself and her own ice-cream spilled over herself, she only got a glimpse of it, but she saw it; it was pigeon. She ran, but for some reason the damned animal followed her, the amount of stares she got were uncountable, she was getting attacked by a pigeon while running, got damn, what a birthday.
#short stories // pigeons. the devil's animal#this was posted one day too late but who cares#also sorry coco omg#rkcoco

rkhwayoung
Thankfully the other girl accepted. Hwayoung smiled as she stepped out of her house, having no actually intention of going into the bath house, she just met the girl there. Coco had gotten there before she did as it seemed and it didn’t bother her at all. She walked up to the other girl and waved as a quick greeting-if she remembered from the mall, Coco was a wreck and she didn’t want to unstabilize the girl by suddenly becoming too familiar and hugging or anything else. Instead, she kept it distant-though the mission was to change that soon enough.
“Hey,” she says “I’m sorry I didn’t text you earlier but I changed my mind. I don’t actually want to go to the bath house” It was always her intention to bail out of something like that-it was too intimate for her to meet a stranger in this place and much more share and become so vulnerable as she would be in a bath house. Instead, she did it because she could. It was dumb but something about arranging something and changing it last minute was kind of fun-especially if the other went along with it. “Let’s go hang out by the river instead.” It wasn’t a question. Hwayoung, turns towards the park where everyone hangs out by the river and starts to head that way, tossing a “come on.” Behind her to Coco.
Coco wondered why she had accepted this request. Sure she wanted to see Hwayoung again, after all that had happened lately she needed to go out, and most importantly she definitely needed new connections. But a bath house? She had never been to one before and this was to be her first time ever to go to one. It had been her preference for a long time to never even step near a bath house. As much as Coco often does get compliments on her appearance, that doesn’t mean she’s confident about herself. No she’s probably the opposite of confident. Her face, her body, everything about herself she struggles with, and thus being naked with strangers and someone she barely knows seemed difficult to her. But lately she had been trying to challenge herself and to do things she normally wouldn’t do, and this was definitely something she never would’ve done.
She came early as always, too afraid that she would get scolded or make Hwayoung angry if she came late, better too early than too late. She smiles as she sees the other female and she returns the wave, thankful that the other didn’t do anything unordinary like pulling her into a hug. Her smile fades and eyes widen pretty fast though as the older announces that there are changes in the plans. In a way she feels relieved, in another way she feels disappointed, she had just gained enough confidence to do this and now it turned out that all that confidence was for nothing. But at least now she wouldn’t have to do anything that she would feel uncomfortable with, and so the smile soon returned and she nods. “That’s fine, I don’t care about what we’re doing anyway”.
The river sounds nice, as long as Hwayoung isn’t planning on making Coco bathe in the river then that’s a fine choice. She follows right behind Hwayoung, looks at the bath house before returning her look to Hwayoung “I’m right behind you”.

rktaeil
@rkcoco
invitations to food and coffee are one of the easiest tasks for taeil to manage when meeting someone in person for the first time. technically he can’t say that this is their first time talking to each other, but meeting people through his social media apps is rather commonplace for him at this point. therefore, he already considers the girl a friend, buying a drink and using his promotional benefits to get something else free off the menu. really helpful as a semi-professional food instagrammer, he’ll tell you that.
“are you into listening to music much? or specifically, interested in idol life?” and also entering said friend status also granted access to his unfiltered thoughts, jumping from one thing to another, but also cutting in with a somewhat unconventional topic out of the blue. he places his phone down on the table to grab hold of his iced drink to sip from, swirling the contents carefully with the paper straw and looking at coco curiously. “there seems to be a lot of elimination shows involving those people potentially wanting to make it big. they’re getting a lot of positive feedback, so i can’t blame them for milking the concept dry.”
Something had lately been on her mind. Jangmi, Coco’s best friend had not long ago suggested something, suggested that Coco should join the MGAs. The career of becoming an idol had crossed her mind once or twice in the past but Coco had always rather wanted to be an actor, and thus she joined an actor school. But Coco’s interest in gymnastics and acrobatics had lately turned into an interest in dance too, and surprisingly she wasn’t as bad a dancer as she thought she was. Jangmi believed Coco was the best dancer to ever walk on this earth and was determined that Coco needed to join the MGAs because without no doubt she would win. Coco had thought much about it, in a way she did want to join, but normally she was very timid and shy, joining alone seemed scary, and hence the idea of making someone else join too had occurred to her.
Taeil just like many others is a friend that Coco has gained through social media and texting, and when one or the other suggested meeting she decided that he was the one to become her target, she would make him join the MGAs. She had been lost in her own thoughts so when suddenly he spoke she flinched for a second out of shock, and then she turned to him with a smile. “I listen to music every now and then, in the past it wasn’t much my interest but lately I’ve started liking music more”. For a second she keeps quiet at his next question, interested in the idol life? Is she that? Isn’t she just interested in dancing? Singing isn’t really her thing, and rapping is absolutely not something she’s good at, but in a way she’s interested in the idol life, isn’t she? Secretly she would like to become an idol so she could fulfill her dreams of dancing for the rest of his life. “I don’t know if I’m interested in the idol life, a bit maybe?”
She nods at his words, Taeil is quite right, the MGAs isn’t anything special, there are lots of shows like the MGAs, the MGAs is just a bigger show than others. “Yeah you’re right, there is a lot of shows like that. Have you ever thought of joining an elimination show?”

rkhwayoung
starter for @rkcoco
What could possibly make someone feel better more than being around someone worse? For Hwayoung, the answer was nothing. The self-pity and useless thoughts were saved for home when her mother told them to her or when she went to bed and told herself until she fell asleep. During the day, her disappointment and low self-esteem manifested in other ways. Seeing how easily influenceable the rest of the population was, was one way she enjoyed. When she was angrier, she was much more straight forward and mean but for the day, she had other plans. Hwayoung texted Coco.
Texts >> Coco- Hey, I want to see you. Let’s meet and go to jjimjilbang if that’s ok with you.
She wonders briefly if the other girl would cry? Hwayoung saw her at the MGAs. She knows the other will surely know that Hwayoung also failed but shes hoping it wont be a topic of conversation. If it was, Hwayoung didn’t want to have to explain that her focus was on herself and much less have to talk about her feelings after being eliminated. The best case scenario would be if Coco never brought it up. Of course, if she were to cry about it, Hwayoung would find a twisted way to enjoy it as well. It wouldn’t be as fun, to have Coco whine as always-especially when Hwayoung wanted to mold the girl into the perfect bff
The past days had been weirdly strange, so many things had happened and Coco wasn’t fully sure how to adapt to it. Not too long ago the world had seemed incredibly dark, there couldn’t go one moment without Coco looking at herself in the mirror and bursting into tears. And then suddenly her grandmother died, and her brother left to go back to the US, and all those things should’ve made the world darker, but for some reason they didn’t. Perhaps it was all just pretending, maybe Coco wasn’t actually happy, but just pretended to be, but she wasn’t fully sure, and she didn’t want to question herself. After her brother left she made herself hang out with friends, she didn’t want to leave her apartment, but she knew she needed to see someone, that she couldn’t be alone forever. And suddenly a friend of hers got the idea to sign Coco up for the MGAs, and then Coco was in the MGAs, and she enjoyed it like she had never enjoyed anything before. While in the MGAs she really realized how much she loved to dance, but soon enough even those dreams were crushed, and Coco needed to accept the fact that she wasn’t good enough, and that dancing should never be her choice of career.
She felt sad after the MGAs, but like what had happened after her grandmother and William she just pretended everything was fine, once again streaming, hanging out with friends, and trying to live her life as she had lived it before everything seemed dark. It had surprised her when she got the message from Hwayoung, never had she imagined Hwayoung would contact her, why would Hwayoung hang out with someone like Coco? A clumsy girl who isn’t good at anything and does nothing but cry. But maybe it was because Hwayoung is so sweet, Coco remembers Hwayoung, and if she remembers right then Hwayoung was quite nice.
She needed to get out of her apartment anyway, so she accepted the invitation to hang out and thereafter came to the place they were supposed to meet. And then she stood quietly and waited.

rkkyungsoo
@rkcoco
Kyungsoo had no idea how he was chosen to stay when many of the others that he deemed talented were walking away disappointed. He was delighted to hear his name called, but it would be a lie to say he was expecting anything other than an elimination. Anyway, it didn’t matter why they kept him, now he had to think of what to perform next to keep them invested in his development. That said, Kyungsoo sort of wanted to celebrated and he wasn’t sure if he was allowed to tell his mom that he made it on the show.
Also, most of the people he knew were eliminated, which meant he had no idea who he was going to sit next to for the second episode filming. Yes yes, we know Suwoong made it in but Kyungsoo would rather die than sit with Susu and his pack of howling wolf friends. The amount of noise he experienced today already gave him a pounding headache.
As much as he’d love to go home and go to bed, there was a few other things he had to do first. For example, comforting those who were eliminated. Later in the day, he’d probably text Tzuyu and give her some sort of encouragement speech. Kyungsoo honestly thought she did quite well and it was a shame to see her eliminated. The other person that really needed comforting, however, was right next to him.
Yes, Coco also got eliminated and Kyungsoo was more worried about her. You see, Coco was the…softer type of girl. Anything could send her into tears and Kyungsoo heard of her grandmother’s passing from his dad. She was likely not in the best state of mind so perhaps he should…do something?
“Want to get dinner?” He asked. “I’ll drive you after to wherever you need to go?”
Now this was disappointing. It was unexpected. Coco has continuously told herself that she didn’t care about winning, that getting eliminated wouldn’t mean the slightest to her. But this was unexplainable. For sure she hadn’t been the best, she knows that, maybe she did something different, she sung a sung in Spanish while showing off her guitar skills, but she wasn’t the best. But was she the worst? No she wasn’t (according to herself), many of the people who had passed were far worse than her, far worse.
It was disappointing, all of her friends and family had helped her, continuously complimented her and expected so much of her. But even with all of their help? She managed to get eliminated, which could only mean once thing. She’s talentless, apparently dancing will and should never become her thing, apparently she sings worse than a lot of the other contestants, apparently she’s not good enough. At least that’s what she thinks, and according to herself then that’s the truth, it’s the cold hard truth. Maybe this is a sign, that she should never ever enter the idol world? But why would she, they have so high standards for looks in that industry, such industry could never be good for her.
But now it was just… what should she do? Should she go home to her empty apartment, act as if nothing has ever happened? Maybe she should visit her parents and give them the news. At least this way she would never have to tell her brother about the MGAs, she had never told him about it and now she would never need to. There are many things to do, but there’s nothing she wants to do, maybe she just wants a break from this world, just for a second.
That’s when she hears a familiar voice, and as she turns her head she notices it’s Kyungsoo. She’s not really hungry, but when ever is she hungry? Maybe grabbing dinner would be good, perhaps she needs the company tonight.
She nods her head and thereafter shows her usual smile “yeah I would like to. What would you like to eat?”

it never stops
She screams as he touches her “get the fuck away from me” words almost inaudible due to the heavy breathing and loud sobbing. The world seems dark, by now she just wants to give up, why does she continue to live when she hates it so fucking much? “Calm down Coco” he says, but who is he to say that? Why does he tell her to calm down, he came to her fucking apartment, and he would not fucking leave when she told him to, why the fuck would she calm down when everything he does is something she dislikes? Everything around her seem blurry, nothing seems right, her body falls onto the floor, she curls up, the tears continues and most likely it will take some time before they stop.
Where is he? Where is William when he needs her? All she wants is for him to comfort her, for him to tell her that it’s okay, he’s the one who is always there, and now? Now he’s the one she’s crying over, because he left him, he left everybody, he left her right after grandmother died. He said fuck you family, fuck you Coco, he decided to focus on his own career, all while Coco could rot in a hole, does he know what she was going through? Of course he knows, he always knows, he always knows what Coco is feeling like, and yet? Now when she needs him the most he chooses to not care, he chooses to leave her.
A hand lands on her shoulder and she hears the words “it’s going to be okay”. No it’s not going to be okay, she knows William won’t come back, he’ll live in the US for the rest of his life because that’s his home, that’s where he wants to be. The moment she hears the words she pushes the hand away from her “I told you to get the fuck away from me” she screams. Why can’t he seem to understand? Understand that all she wants to be is alone, to fucking cry alone. Who knew? She constantly thinks that because she joined the MGAs then everything is better, because now she has something to distract her, but in reality? She got fucking nothing, now that she has joined the MGAs the only thing she has realized is how she relies on William so much, for his support and for his help.
“I won’t leave you alone! I saw your cuts, I know you’re not doing well! I’m afraid, I’m afraid that you’ll try to kill yourself again”
She keeps quiet upon hearing the words, she knows it all true, everybody is afraid, why wouldn’t they be? But it’s still scary to hear the words; kill yourself again.

Lee Coco’s MGA5 Callback (Interview) Mentioned - @rkkyungsoo, @rkxuxi, @rkguanheng, @rkchoutzuyu, @rkxkikwang, @rktaeil, @rkxsnh, @moonbokrk, @rkyeosang, @rkaisha, @danielxrk, @rksuwoongQuote - “Give love, and then you might receive love” Thanks to everybody for doing such great job
An interview. Once again an interview. Answering questions has never been a talent of Coco’s, she always worries too much about whether she answers correctly or not. She sits quietly in the room alone with a big smile placed on her face, she plays with her long hair. She had short blonde hair once and she liked it very much, however everybody she knows prefers her with long hair and for her hair to be any shade of brown, by now she has colored her hair any shade of brown there exists in the world. Perhaps she’ll do better in the interview than with her performance? Not that she did bad in her performance, at least she doesn’t think she did too bad. But for her its easier to get attention and win peoples’ hearts and love while talking instead of singing. While talking she gets the chance to really show her cute side.
How did you choose your song?
That’s the first question. She pouts her lips and looks at the ceiling as she thinks of an answer, it wasn’t too hard to answer, she already knew the answer, but she knows that she looks cute while thinking and making the expression she makes, so she takes the opportunity to act cute.
She knows the song from the movie Coco, a movie which she had only watched because her friends suggested it and it had the same name as her. She watched the movie in Korean, and to be honest she had never even heard the Spanish soundtrack before she was informed that she had passed the audition and had gotten this far. She could’ve just chosen to sing the song in Korean, but that wasn’t what she wanted. She wanted to show her Spanish speaking talent, show something the viewers hopefully hadn’t seen before, she wanted to surprise those who watched and heard her perform. That was her goal throughout the MGAs, to continuously show something new and surprise whoever watched her, she hoped for lots of screen time, she knew that would make the ones around her proud, and that was what she wanted, to make people proud of her. She looks straight again and shows a smile on her lips, she scratches her neck before finally deciding to answer the question. “I like the movie Coco, it’s title is the same as my name, I think that’s funny” she chuckles shortly before continuing “I sang in Spanish so I’m not sure if anybody understood what I sang so I’ll quickly explain the lyrics. It’s a song about love, whether it’s with your family, pet or significant other, it’s about true love always connect us, it even says it in the chorus. Amor verdadero nos une por siempre, that means; true love connects us forever. I like that, the thought of love being the strongest thing in the world and the thing that connects us, I think that’s why I chose the song I chose, because the lyrics are nice” she smiles brightly at the answer. The answer was far longer than intended, perhaps she should’ve said something short and cute, but talking about love also makes one seem innocent and therefore that was her choice.
Were there any performances you liked?
Oh. That was an unexpected question that should’ve been expected. Of course they were going to ask her to talk about others, it was surprising they asked who she liked and not who she disliked, don’t they want drama? Coco knows how this business works, the MGAs most likely are out for getting more viewers, and drama is something that usually will get a show more viewers. Coco is not going to be a part of drama, and if she is then it’ll only be to make others seem bad, not at all does she want to seem like a bad person. She wants to seem nice, cheerful, innocent and cute, therefore being nice to others is a must. To be honest she didn’t watch most of the performances, were they too boring then she would just think about other things, or else she would be busy thinking about how she would do or how she had done, however she did watch some performances and she would mention those who she liked most out of the few she had seen.
“Well I think I would like to mention Kyungsoo first” she paused for a bit, wondered if the two were going to pretend they had never met before while on the show or not, she knew Kyungsoo and surprisingly she knew a lot of the other contestants too. The world really is small. “I’ve never heard the song he sang, so I don’t know if he even sang the right lyrics, but I think he did a really great job. His voice fit perfectly for the song, at least I think so. He really does have a pretty voice” and once again she pauses before pouting her lips and showing a sad expression “I’m jealous” she says. To be honest she only mentioned him because they knew each other and he had comforted her in a difficult situation, she did enjoy his performance but she hadn’t watched much of it, while he was on the stage she hadn’t managed to watch him very much because the thought of whether he knew of her grandmother’s death or not bothered her.
She has a second name in mind, but she stays quiet for a second, the name in her mind sounds too unfamiliar and weird “s-sushi. I think his name was…” she bits her lips, her confusion will hopefully make her look ever cuter even if it’s unintentional. “Yeah sushi… I think I need to mention him. I was really surprised when I saw him perform, I don’t think anyone could forget his performance. He really rocked that outfit, I think I might need to ask him where he bought that shirt” a short chuckle escapes her mouth before she continues “but not only was his outfit amazing, everything was really woah. I really like dancing myself and I think I could learn from him, I think singing and dancing might be my two best performance skills, but I’m not sure if I could do both at once, I’ve never tried. But he sang and danced at the same time! I really admire that” she ends her comment with a big smile on her lips, she did enjoy his performance and thought it was very well, but she’s not sure if she would ever have the courage to ask a stranger for help.
“Oh I also need to mention Guanheng!” she burst out, she has already talked a lot about two, but she needs to mention this guy too. “You did well” she says in Chinese as she shows a thumbs up, Coco doesn’t speak Chinese, but she speaks around six words ‘you did well’ and ‘I love you’, and she feels the need to show off her Chinese skills “I’m not sure if he’s Chinese, but his name did sound Chinese”. “He sang and played an electric guitar if I remember right, he performed history maker, right!? I really like that song and I think he sang it well—” and then she goes silent for a second “wait—” again a break. “The guy I talked about before? His name isn’t sushi, it’s Xuxi, isn’t it? Oh my god I’m so sorry!” she bows slightly and covers her face with embarrassment, sushi did sound weird. “Oh my god…” she gulps before then again speaking “oh but I was talking about Guanheng, wasn’t I? Oh yeah I really enjoyed his performance”
“Tzuyu just like Xuxi sang while dancing, I really admire those two that they can do that” Tzuyu is a friend of Coco’s and honestly she was surprised to see Tzuyu. Never in a million years had she suspected that Tzuyu would be a good dancer and singer, was she honest then maybe she was a bit jealous of Tzuyu, how Tzuyu managed to sing while dancing, not that the dance was the hardest in the world, but she still danced while singing. Coco has never tried dancing while singing, but she just assumes that she’s bad at it “Tzuyu did very well, she has a very beautiful voice, I’m surprised she sings so well”
“L-lee Kikwang I think his name was? He also sang while dancing. I was honestly very surprised when I saw his performance, I don’t think he has the best singing voice, but I think his dancing definitely makes up for it. Out of all of the dancers I’ve seen today, he’s totally in top five, or maybe top three! I was seriously entertained by his dancing, I wish I could see his dancing on repeat, I want him to teach me how to become such good dancer! I really like dancing, and I hope that I can compare to his skill” she smiles brightly upon ending her comment, jealousy is something that comes easily to her, and is she honest she hopes they won’t cross paths because she fears she would get too jealous of him.
“I think I need to mention Taeil too? He’s a friend of mine, but that’s not the only reason why I’m mentioning him. I was the one who convinced him to try out for the MGAs, and see how far he has gone? I knew it was a good idea” a short chuckle leaves her as she tucks a tot of hair behind her ear before continuing; “it seems as if he has practiced very hard, and I think that’s what makes a performance great, when you can see they really want it” to be honest she had no idea whether or whether not he had practiced hard, but because she had dragged him into this she felt the need to compliment him. “I’m sure that he’ll improve a lot throughout this season”.
“I know I’ve already mentioned a lot of people, but I have a few more people I need to mention! Someone who really needs to be mentioned is Hyejoo! I hope everybody mentions her because she showed some really wild skills. When she walked up on the stage I had never expected her to rap, but then she opened her mouth and showed the wildest rap ever! I’ve never tried rapping before, but I’m 100% sure about the fact that I’m bad at it. She’s really wild! If I ever want to rap then I’ll be sure to ask her for advice” her face lights up when speaking about the girl, she sure was very amused by Hyejoo’s performance.
“Jang Moonbok… I think that was his name, right? He was in the last season too, if I remember right. His hair is so pretty! I’m really jealous!” again, a short chuckle leaves her before she continues “I know his hair doesn’t have anything to do with his performance, but it was what caught my attention! Because of his hair I paid extra attention to him! And I’m really glad I did! He both sang AND rapped, right?! That was truly amazing, that dude really has talent. I don’t remember much about him from last year, but that must mean he has improved, mustn’t it? Because he grabs my attention now, that he didn’t do last year”
“Another rapper I would like to mention is Yeosang, or was he rapping? I think he did a mix of rapping and singing, and it was really cool! He really stands out from the crowd, I really enjoy his way of rapping, if he ever made an album, then for sure I would buy it” the never-ending smile continues on her lips as she speaks about the male, honestly? Maybe she was a bit jealous of how unique his method of rapping was.
“I know I’ve mentioned a lot of people already, but there’s are more people I want to mention… Yoorim, I think that was her name, I’m not very good at remembering names, but she left a strong impact on me, she really did a great job! I don’t know why, but when people can sing and dance and do it greatly then I just get so entertained! Yoorim did a really good job with both, I still have yet to sing while dance, but seeing her perform? It really just makes me want to try it!”
She feels tears pressing on as she is about to speak about the next and last person; Daniel. She watched the MGAs season four and she cheered him on, all while he was on the show, he was truly her favorite. “Daniel…” she holds a short break before continuing “he has really gotten good, it’s great to see. I’m a big fan of his, I think he’s really cool and he has a lot of talent. I’m both happy and sad that he has joined the MGAs again, I think it’s good he has come back so he can show how much he has grown, however it feels weird to kind of be competing against him? Regardless of whatever I think he did really well, I hope everybody will support me as much as I supported him last season” and then she ends of her comment with a smile.
Truly she did not think she would mention this many people, but oh, a lot of people did do great. “Sorry for talking so much. I think everybody did great, but these were just some of my favorites”
Were there any performances you didn’t like?
Oh. Of course they were going to ask that, she should’ve expected it, shouldn’t she? Well she had mentioned quite many she had enjoyed watching, and probably there were more people she disliked than she liked, but she wouldn’t mention that many, that would just make her seem rude.
The first name who came to her mind was Lee Suwoong, she widens her eyes upon thinking about him. His performance had surprised her, it was memorable. It wasn’t that it was bad, it was just… Weird? But oh well, weird things are sometimes good, aren’t they? Or maybe he joined the MGAs to make a fool out of himself? That could be it too, if she remembers right Kyungsoo had told her that Suwoong was his cousin, and she was quite surprised at this fact because they did not seem the least alike. Though even if his performance hadn’t been her favorite, she wasn’t going to mention his name, she had her nice reputation to keep. “Nope, I think everybody did their best, and that’s what matters” and with that she sends a big smile in the way of the camera.
Who do you think will be eliminated today?
Her smile which she had been so good at keeping slowly faded upon hearing the question. Why would they ask her something like that? If she answered the question then wouldn’t she just seem rude? Or perhaps that was what they wanted? It would make sense, she had been nice so far, she had kept a smile through the interview, and she said every word with her cute voice, she did her best to maintain her cute, kind, innocent and soft self. But that probably wasn’t what they wanted, they probably wanted to crack her and make drama by showing her true self but was she honest then this was her true self, well in a way. Normally she didn’t speak with her cute voice all the time, but she did do it often, normally she would also be a bit more mature, but everybody seemed to think cuter her was better, so that was the reason for why she acted so cute on the show. But even if they wanted to make her look bad, she wouldn’t let them. “I have no idea, you can never predict things like these. The MGAs are really unpredictable” and then again the smile returns to her lips.
And it seems that, that was the final question. Perhaps some of her answers were too long, but long answers could be good too sometimes, who knew? Perhaps they would time-lapse it or something, or show a video of people falling asleep, if they made a joke out of her long answers then that would gain her attention too.
And once again she needed to show her signature move, it was what she was supposed to be known for. “Please” the word leaves her mouth as she sticks out her left hand and shows a thumbs up “support me” stretching the word like a kid while stretching her right arm and showing a thumbs up with that hand too.
And now it’s over, she managed to do her second interview.

Lee Coco’s MGA5 Callback (Performance) Performing - El Latido de mi Corazón - Luis Ángel Gómez Jaramillo (00.04 - 01.58) Quote - “Win it all, make them fall for you, give your best” Thanks to William for teaching Coco how to play the guitar
Oh. OH.
She passed? She managed to get pass the audition, hadn’t she? Out of several people to pick from, she and 99 other contestants were the ones who had passed. Oh. This was quite pleasant, wasn’t it? It was like in middle school, under the talents shows, she was always the one to win, perhaps she could be the one to win in this too, couldn’t she? Well hopes shouldn’t go too much up, she hadn’t joined to win, she had joined to have fun, winning wasn’t what was important, it shouldn’t be. Of course she was going to continue giving her all, continue to show something new, to surprise whoever was watching, even if winning wasn’t necessary, shouldn’t she at least try to win? Honestly Jangmi had been even more excited than Coco had, everybody had been more excited than her, she had still yet to tell her brother, but he could wait. Mother and father had given her a lot of compliments, they were sure she would do great on the program. Jangmi and her other friends seemed perhaps too happy, they were fully sure about the fact that Coco would win the whole show. Coco wasn’t so sure about winning the MGAs, she had seen the last season, and she knew talented people joined competitions like these. But if she remembered right then the MGAs aren’t all about talent, charisma and grabbing people’s attention and hearts can be just as important, and that’s something Coco can do, get all the attention she wants and making people fall for her soft and cute personality.
Surprisingly there were quite many faces she recognized, and the person she sat next to was also a familiar face; Kyungsoo. The guy who had come and visited her grandparents, however they weren’t home and he ended up visiting her instead, he had given her a sandwich then and she had in her mind given him the nickname ‘sandwich guy’. It felt comfortable sitting next to someone she knew, however it did also start making her think a lot. Of her grandmother of course, did he know what had happened? If not, should she tell him? Her grandmother wasn’t around anymore, and the thought made her sad, for a second she felt tears pressing on, but that couldn’t be happening, her cheerful and cute personality was what she was supposed to be known by.
Normally she’s quiet and shy, that she can’t be while on the show, sometimes maybe, but that’s only off stage to support her cute image, on stage she’s got to show her everything. She walks up happily on the stage with her guitar in her hands, as she stands on the center of the stage she lets go of the guitar and lets it hang by the strap around her shoulder. She knows the judges, but only from the previous seasons and Jangmi, one thing she knows however is that she should impress them if she wants to go further than just this. She looks at the judges for a second with a big smile on her lips before stretching out her arms and waving her hands, just like a child happy to see someone they have missed. “Hii ~ “ and like a child she stretches the word to sound cute, cuteness comes naturally to her and she doesn’t the least mind acting cute, while she knows a lot of people judge those who act cute, she also knows a lot of people fall for the child-like people. And then she puts a tot of her hair behind her ear. She steps a bit forward to the microphone before talking, she puts her mouth close to the microphone as she looks up and shows her cute puppy eyes “I’m Lee Coco, I will be performing one of my favorite songs from the movie Coco” she smiles brightly at her own words, the cute voice already turned on when she stepped into the building, and she’s not planning on letting go off it until she steps out again.
And then she takes the guitar in her hands again. It was her brother William who has taught her how to play, he himself plays too, but he’s far better than her at playing the instrument, maybe if he was in Korea he could’ve given her advice and helped her learn the song, but he wasn’t and there wasn’t anything to do about that. She studied Spanish in high school and lived in Spain for three months, she still has friends from Spain and regularly speaks Spanish with them, her Spanish skills are rather good, at least good enough for her to sing in Spanish. If she remembers right nobody has ever on the MGAs sung a song in Spanish, hopefully her choice of song can surprise the judges, if not, then hopefully they like her voice, her personality, and her guitar skills.
She looks down at the guitar at first as she plays is and then she looks up again, showing an innocent-looking expression.
Dirás que es raro lo que me pasó Parace que anoche te encontré en mis sueños Las palabras que dije se volvieron cancion Versos que tuyos son y el recuerdo nos dio
The first two lines goes with ease, they have a sentimental feeling to them, and Coco knows how to fake sadness, she sings the words as if she means them, with sadness in her heart and eyes. The song isn’t sad at all, she knows that, she has no idea about whether people understands what she sings or not, but hopefully they think she sings beautifully enough. The two following lines are not as sad as the first, slowly as she sings a smile shows on her face, a small and cute one. She asked her Spanish friends for help with the pronunciation, and as far as she knows she pronounces the words quite greatly, if not then most likely none of the judges speak good enough Spanish to notice.
Una melodia bella que el alma taco Con el ritmo que vibra en nuestro interior Amor verdadero nos une por siempre, en el latido de mi corazón Amor verdadero nos une por siempre, en el latido de mi corazón
The smiles grow bigger on her lips as the song continues. She plays the guitar with ease, even though she would’ve preferred if her brother had been in Korea to help her, she knows how to play a guitar by herself, she has done it for multiple years, and playing a guitar might be one of the few things she’s good at.
The smile grows even bigger, if that could even be possible. She plays the movie in her head, thinks of all the love she has ever gotten, she needs to express the love and happiness in the song, and she does her best to do so. Coco knows that she is no Celine Dion, but hopefully she’s good enough, hopefully she can win them over with her charms, her singing and guitar skills aren’t the only important thing right now.
And then the song comes to its end, she exhales loudly once, high tones aren’t something she’s very used to, hopefully she sang good enough. Once again she lets go off the guitar and lets it hang around her neck. She has made her own signature move of hers, it’s a strategy, it’s like Jihoon from Produce 101, he got his ‘save you in my heart’ and she got her ‘please support me’, her move is something people can remember and connect her to. She sticks out her right hand first and shows a thumb up “please” she says with a loud and cute voice “support me” she continues as she sticks out her left hand.
Her performance has come to an end, and she’s satisfied, hopefully the judges are too.

Lee Coco’s 5th MGA5 Audition (Secondary Skill) Performing - Me Gustas Tu (Acappella) - GFRIEND (00.50 - 01.48) Skill - Singing Quote - “Though it’s not what you’re used to, maybe it’s what you’re good at” Thanks to Jaebum for supporting Coco
It’s break time, and for some reason break time is the time she enjoys the least today. She has enjoyed today, a lot actually. Her cousin Jaebum had said she shouldn’t have tried to join, he said it was a bad idea, and in the beginning she had believed his words. She trusts and loves Jaebum a lot, if he said it was a bad idea then perhaps it was a bad idea, she had felt as if she should’ve listened to him. He was so dear to her and he had always been there for her, she still remembers their trip to New York, it was really enjoyable and she only grew more fond of him by it. But everybody else disagreed with him, they said it would be a good idea, and as much as she loves and trusts Jaebum then maybe for once she should do it, she knew he said what he said for a reason, but didn’t others do that too? He promised he would support her regardless of whatever, and that made her happy.
But now it’s break time and she’ll have to prepare for what is next to come, last year it was a second skill and she presumes that it will be it again this year. This she is a bit more unsure about, Coco came to dance, as far as she knows she’s not a very good singer nor rapper, most definitely there are a lot of people here who are far better than her. But she remembers playing the guitar while William sang so she chose that if they were to show a second skill then she would sing, and she remembered how he practiced, he always drank a lot of water and ate corn, and so she sits on the ground away from all the other strangers, eating her corn. She is on a diet and she hadn’t taken much corn with her, but she sits quietly as she thinks while eating one piece of corn at a time, with this speed it will take her at least a year to eat them all. Suddenly out of nowhere she remembers something, a friend of hers is a vocal coach, and when he heard about her trying out for the MGAs he gave her advice, he said to make cat sounds. She places her water and corn on the ground, and as she stares into the air she makes continuously miaws. She doesn’t take the time to bother at the glances, her friend has given this advice and she trusts that it is good advice.
And then it’s time, she gets called back to the classroom from before and as expected she gets told to improvise a second skill. She has hoped that this was what they would be doing because she had practiced the lyrics to a song and she is prepared for this. Or is she? The whole day had gone so smoothly, she had finally been able to show her real laugh and her cheerful side, she had finally been able to show her cute and soft side, but, but is it really a good idea? Jaebum had tried convincing her to not join, shouldn’t she have listened? She should, shouldn’t she? Normally William is the one to give her advice, but now that he’s in the US who does she have to listen to? There’s Jangmi, but they have only been friends for a couple of years. Shouldn’t Jaebum be her new brother figure and the one she listens to? Shouldn’t he?
Focus. Focus Coco, this has been the best day of your life maybe, you’ve given your all, you’re not about to give up, Jaebum promised to support you, and you have lots of people who wants to support you, you have a lot of people with you. And with that she shows her usual big bright smile, the one she has shown oh so many times throughout the day, she’s Coco, she’s the cute and adorable Coco, she got this, she definitely got this. She sticks out her lips and lifts her eyebrows as she thinks, and once again the soft cute voice has been turned on even before she had managed to think about what to say “I’m not supposed to introduce myself again, am I? I have a nametag so…” she looks confused around her, but decides that she’ll introduce herself again, she wants nobody to forget about her. “I’m Lee Coco” she says as she smiles bigly enough to almost close her eyes completely. She tries her best to make a petulant expression, but she adds a hint (or more like a lot) of cuteness to it “I will show you the best of the best, believe in me” the cuteness still in her voice but this time with a hint of fake anger and determinedness “fighting!” she finishes off with before beginning.
Me Gustas Tu is her song choice, she has heard the song before but never knew the name nor the artist. Jangmi was the one who suggested the song, she claimed that if Coco would need to sing then this one would be perfect, that it fit perfect for Coco’s voice. Had Coco needed to choose a song then she would’ve most likely chosen an English one, and if she had done that then if she had made it to the screen the viewers would already have known of her English speaking talent, that talent was one she would like to save for later. She has multiple surprises up her sleeve, she’s not going home she has promised herself, she’ll continue to win hearts, even if she’ll have to cross her own limits, she’ll push herself and show what she’s capable of.
Surprisingly she isn’t as bad as she had thought, is she honest then maybe she is as good at singing as she is at dancing, but if that is a good thing or bad thing she’s not sure of. Hopefully she’s both good at singing and dancing, if not then hopefully her soft and lovable personality can overshine that a bit. When she sings it feels quite weird for herself, her voice sounds like honey, and never did she think a voice could sound like an object, but she likes it, she’s better than she had guessed, and that makes her more confident. She keeps a smile throughout her performance, she’s here as the cute and smiley Coco, so she has to keep the smile. The words roll easily on her tongue, she has no trouble with remembering nor pronunciation, and that only makes her happier. In the original song multiple people sing together for the chorus, however she’s only one person, but she hopes that she’ll still sound good.
Her performance comes to an end and the smile is still plastered on her lips. But quickly it fades and she stares into the air, she stands quiet for a good couple of seconds before a quiet sneeze can be heard, she feels her cheeks turning red at the sudden sneeze, it wasn’t intended but it sounded kind of cute so maybe it was a sneeze to her advantage. She giggles shortly and then the smiles returns to her lips. She sticks out her right hand as she shows a thumbs up “please support” and then she sticks out her left hand, and like her right hand she shows a thumbs up on her left hand too “me!” she says as she stretches the me a lot. Today has come to an end, and she’s more than satisfied.

Lee Coco’s 4th MGA5 Audition (Extra Skill) Performing - Catching watermelon seeds with her mouth Quote - “Show yourself, be yourself, that is always the best” Thanks to the watermelon-seeds for making Coco laugh
An extra talent? Well what could that be? There is a lot of things she could’ve done for her extra talent. She could’ve shown her talents in acrobatics or gymnastics, she has done those two things for a long time and is most definitely good at acrobatics and gymnastics. She could show her guitar skills, she has played the guitar for quite a while and has gotten good enough to play it blindfolded. Or maybe she could’ve shown how many languages she speaks, she speaks both Spanish, English and Korean. She has studied acting so perhaps she could’ve shown her acting skills, she could’ve shown how she can cry on command. Or her talent of recognizing teas on their smell, some people say that’s easy, but Coco knows that it isn’t.
She has so many talents to pick from, so what did she choose? What did she choose she would show, what was the thing that she had picked as her extra talent and that was supposed to help her with qualifying to the MGAs and gain supporters? Catching watermelon seeds with her mouth. Yes. She could’ve done something fancy and extravagant, but she wants to show something funny, she wants to show her fun personality and hopefully make one or two people laugh. She holds the watermelon in her hands and smiles brightly as always, letting her cute and innocence side once again show. In her eyes catching watermelon seeds is actually quite hard, people don’t know how hard it is until they have tried it themselves. “I’m going to show you my special talent” she says, still with her bright and cute voice, the one she has kept the whole time. She then unpacks the piece of watermelon from the clingfilm.
“Do you want to know what my special talent it?” she says as she shows a playful smile. “I’m going to catch watermelon seeds with my mouth! I will spit the watermelon seeds multiple meters up and then catch them!” she smiles bigger than ever at the thought, she remembers Jangmi’s surprised reaction when she saw Coco do it, hopefully Coco could get a reaction like that from someone. She takes a big bite of the watermelon to make sure that she’ll get at least one seed in her mouth. She feels water from the watermelon run down her arms and she laughs cheerfully upon realizing it, however she gets quite close to spitting out the watermelon as she laughs and therefore does her best to stop laughing. She gets done with chewing the watermelon and then places all of the watermelon seeds on the clingfilm. She opens up her mouth and hands and shows them to the camera “see! I have no hidden seed in my mouth. Now I will put ONE in my mouth and spit it in the air and catch it with my mouth!” she picks a single one up and puts it in her mouth before taking a few steps back.
And then it’s the moment to show her extra skill, her special skill. She spits the seed up as much as possible, but it gets out of her sight and she doesn’t catch it. “Where did it go?” she says as she looks confused around, it doesn’t seem to be on the floor, how weird. She looks up again and then she falls onto the floor laughing. “It—” she points at the ceiling as she holds a hand over her mouth, her laughter fills the whole room “it’s on the ceiling”. Her laughing continues for a couple more seconds but then she manages to calm herself down, “alright I will just try again” she says and places another watermelon seed in her mouth. She again takes a few steps back, this time she’ll show her talent she promises herself. She spits the seed up as much as she can and then she takes a few steps back while keeping her mouth open, and then she feels something landing on her tongue. She looks at the camera with a smile before opening her mouth and showing the watermelon seed on her tongue. She smiles proudly at herself, but that is when she feels something on her head. She takes up her hand to her hair and pulls out whatever had landed on her, to her surprise; it’s the watermelon seed from before. She shows her hand with the watermelon seed to the camera and then she again bursts out laughing. “That’s too random! How did it exactly manage to land on my head?!” she loudly says, the innocence still in her voice, but now you can also hear how cheerful she is.
“Or maybe this was all planned? Maybe I planned to catch two?” she says as she looks at the camera, it’s a joke and she hopes whoever is watching can hear her sarcasm, if they can’t then perhaps that would be even funnier. “But thank you for watching me catching watermelon seeds, I’m thankful for it” she says after placing the watermelon seed in her mouth on her hand. Perhaps this wasn’t the most fanciest talent, but it was fun, and you could see the real Coco, see how cheerful and happy she was. She hadn’t laughed this much in a while, and this only made her more happy about that she joined the competition.

Lee Coco’s 3rd MGA5 Audition (Interview) Quote - “Be honest. Honestly might be boring, but it’s better” Thanks to the ladybug for making Coco excited
Interviews. Interviews? Interviews. Interviews are not Coco’s thing, for some reason Coco just has never been the best at answering questions, she’s always unsure about what the right answer is, William says that if it’s a question about yourself then the only right answer is the one you give. But William says a lot of things, a lot of smart things, but that doesn’t mean Coco will always listen, her own doubt mostly overshines his support. However today she can’t be like that. In so many years of Coco’s life she has been afraid, insecure and shy, today, for once she is confident, she is brave and she is proud of herself, she has gotten this far, she can’t let an interview ruin her. So many of the participants seems nervous, she can’t be like those too, this is a fun experience, this is the most exciting thing that has happened in her life for quite a while, she doesn’t have the time nor worry to be nervous and insecure. Maybe she would feel better if she had thought about what they were going to ask and what she was going to answer, but she felt that that in a way would look fake, like it wasn’t the true answer, she wanted to give out true answers. If she did manage to somehow pass and qualify to join the MGAs then it would be most likely she would gain at least one fan, right? And she didn’t want to lie to her fan(s).
She isn’t used to get her make-up done by others, she does use make-up on a daily basis, but she puts on her own make-up. Sometimes William or some of Coco’s friends practice their make-up skills on Coco’s face, they say she has the perfect face for putting on make-up, that she’s naturally pretty and that it’s hard to mess up. They always make her blush, but Coco does blush a lot, that’s one of the things that make her cute; her shyness, though she hasn’t shown much of it today.
She drives a couple of fingers through her hair, makes sure it looks perfect, and then she looks at camera. She got this, she definitely does, sitting in front of a camera is something she’s good at, she’s done it multiple times before and she can do it again.
Immediately, even before she begins speaking the cute voice is turned on, the soft and innocent one who makes her sound like an innocent big baby. “Should I introduce myself again?” she bites her lip while looking at the camera, she shows the innocence and excitement in her eyes, she’s excited, she definitely is. “Oh well I’m—oh my god!” suddenly she spots something on the ground, she stays quiet for a second and her smile fades as she looks at the moving thing on the floor. As she realizes what it is the big and bright smile returns again “that’s a ladybug, isn’t it!?” she chuckles loudly as she watches the ladybug. “Oh sorry I got off track” she returns her look to the camera once again. “I’m Lee Coco, student and born in 1999.” And then the question time begins, now it’s her time to really introduce herself, to really let whoever is watching get to know her.
What are your musical influences? Is the first question. She looks at the ceiling as she thinks, she knows which musicians she loves, but not who has influenced her. “Well… Regarding dance then I don’t know… Maybe Shake It Up? Bella Thorne and Zendaya? I loved watching Shake It Up as a kid, I think that’s where I may have gained my interest in dance. But I think my brother may have influenced my dance the most, he has always supported me and told me when I danced well and when I danced badly. He helped me figure out which kind of dance I enjoy the most and which I’m the best at, can he be my influence?” she looks at the camera with big eyes before continuing her answer. “But is dance also under musical influences? Should I explain who has influenced the way I sing and who has influenced my life by music? Because that may be easier! Taylor Swift! I really love her.” She smiles brightly at just the thought of Taylor Swift “so it’s gonna be forever, or it’s gonna go down in flames” she sings before chuckling “I really love Taylor, she means a lot to me”
“My reason to become an idol?” she repeats after hearing the second question. She scratches her neck while still looking at the camera. “Well… Because I love to dance! Dance is my passion and I think I want to do it forever. I want to be on a scene and dance, because then I will be happy! And it’s as simple as that” well she had never much thought about becoming an idol, she more so had wanted to become a dancer, but if she became an idol then she would be a dancer too, right? That was her reason, people supported her in dancing, so she was going to support herself too. Originally she had wanted to become an actress, but now she knows what she really wants. She has danced for years without a purpose, now she has one, to make herself and everybody else proud; to become a dancer.
And the last question; which companies would you like to get into? If she remembers right then she had been asked this too on that application she sent, and on that she wrote Royal and TRC. She doesn’t know much about the idol-world and therefore also does not know much about companies, the big five had only shortly come across her, she has only heard about them when her friends have talked about them. She had written TRC and Royal on her application because she had heard good about them, that only the best of the best would get into them, and she hoped that she was good enough to get into one of them, that would make everybody proud. But maybe she just wants to get into a company, she just wants to become a trainee and start doing what she loves: dancing. “Well I would love to get into any of the companies, I would really appreciate it if one of the companies would sign me, that would be amazing. But if I had to pick which I would most want to get into then it would be TRC or Royal, my friend talks good about those two, so I believe they must be quite good companies”
And then the interview comes to an end, and by now she has somehow managed to get her own signature move. She sticks out her two hands and shows two thumbs up “please support me!” she says while showing her biggest smile.

Lee Coco’s 2nd MGA5 Audition (Primary Skill) Performing - Something To Dance For - Zendaya Skill - Dance Quote - “Bring out your true self and then you migth succeed” Thanks to William for always supporting Coco
Her hand is on the doorknob, it’s her turn now to show what she got, to prove that she’s worthy of joining the MGAs. She’s supposed to perform in a classroom, which only makes her more comfortable than she already is (surprisingly, because she is already quite classroom). Unlike other faces she has seen, her is quite calm, people seem nervous, which she doesn’t understand the least, she’s not nervous, she’s going to give her all and if that isn’t enough then that isn’t enough. She chuckles before pulling down the doorknob and opening the door a little. She sticks out her head from the door, she can be seen with a bright smile “is this the right room?” she says as she widens her eyes and looks around. She opens the door fully and steps into the room, she slowly closes the door again before turning around again. She walks up to the center of the room before bowing deeply to the staff. She looks around the room for a second before her big smile returns. “I’m Coco, it’s nice to meet you” her soft and cute voice has been turned on, it’s the one she always uses when talking with her brother, he says it’s cute and charming, and she has no trouble with acting cute, being cute comes naturally for her. “I will do my best! Please support me!” she smiles cutely as she sticks out hand and gives a thumbs up to the camera. She somewhere hears a giggle from one the staff, the voice comes from a male and she looks around to see who was the one giggling. She spots the owner of the giggle and looks to the side to see him better “you too! Please support me!” she says as she sticks out her other hand and gives a thumbs up.
And now it’s her turn, her turn to win everybody over, she prepared for this, she’s ready. Jangmi and other friends helped Coco a lot, they helped correcting the mistakes Coco made and made sure Coco gave her all, they approved of her dancing, and if they did that then she had all the confidence in the world, did they believe in her then she would too believe in herself too. Coco has a very soft and lovable personality, look-wise she also looks quite kind, pretty and adorable. She could’ve surprised them and given them a scary and cold performance, one they wouldn’t have expected, but for now she wants to show her cute and soft personality first, if she ends up joining the competition then she will have multiple surprises up her sleeve. Coco has picked the song and dance herself, Jangmi had approved. Coco wanted to do something that she knew would make her happy, and nothing would be better than a dance from Shake It Up. She remembers watching the show and learning all the dances, perhaps Shake it up was what had made her gain her interest in dance. She had learned the dance while she was younger but had forgotten most of it and had needed to learn it again, the hardest part wasn’t the dance but cutting the dance down. The dance takes seventy seconds and she can maximum dance for sixty seconds, she has managed to cut it down, but she knows that the ending might not be the best, hopefully the ending won’t stop her from qualifying to join.
The smile is still placed on her lips, and the excitement is still in her eyes. “I’m ready” she says firmly and then she can hear the song begin.
Her big smile slowly fades into a smaller smile, the excitement in her eyes turns to seducement and she starts pretending that the whole world is watching her, that she’s a star and that she can do anything she wants to. You can hear it when her feet takes a step, every now and then you can hear her breath when she inhales a little too loud. She loves dancing, she enjoys what she’s doing now.

She let her feet tap the ground lightly, she danced the best she could, she could not think about her expressions, all her focus was on doing the right moves. It was her first time choreographing a dance, it was poorly done, but William seemed proud of her. Every now and then she caught a glimpse of his smile, and it made her more confident. Coco knew she was no born dancer, but she enjoyed dancing, and she believed that her experience with acrobatics and gymnastics would help her become a better dancer. The music faded out and slowly she ended her dance, she heard an applause and it of course was from the only who watched, her brother, William. Her breath was loud, she was exhausted, but the smile on his lips made her smile too. “You did well” he said, and Coco could feel tears pressing on from the happiness.

She dances the best she can, she gives her all. She hasn’t told her brother about today, she doesn’t want to, she’s still mad at him. However she knows that if he knew she was trying out for the MGAs then he would be the biggest supporter, even bigger than Jangmi, he is always the biggest supporter. He was there from day one, he always brought the best out of her, and now it is her turn to bring out the best of herself.
The dance comes to an end, she lays on the ground, she sits for a couple seconds, surprisingly she manages to keep her breathe steady, it must’ve been from all the practice. And then she stands up, she smiles brightly at the camera, excited as ever at what she has just done. Once again her big cute smile returns on her lips and you can again see the excitement in her eyes. “Thank you ~” she stretches the you far more than necessary as she keeps her cute and soft voice, she’s gonna keep it through the whole show she promises herself. If she succeeds then she’ll be the cutest girl that has ever joined the MGAs, that she promises.

Lee Coco’s 1st MGA5 Audition (Arrival) Quote - “You’ve started, now you must finish” Thanks to Seungchan for supporting Coco
⤞ June 5th, Coco’s apartment
She sat quietly while watching the screen. Whatever was on the TV didn’t entertain her much, but it was better than doing nothing. The past days had been so quiet, it was like nothing at all made sense anymore. William, Coco’s brother had gone back to the US, she knew it would happen one day, he always talked about it, how he wanted to go back to their original home. Coco liked the idea too, as much as she enjoyed Korea, Korea was just not at all like the US, however she had made friends in Korea, she had started a life, so she was not so sure if she still wanted to go back. William had made friends too, but he never grew fond of their new home, he longed for what he grew up in, and when he saw an opportunity to come home he took it. It had happened sooner than expected, and it had happened in such bad timing, Coco was going through a hard time, and their grandmother had just died, couldn’t he have waited just a little bit more?
Regardless of what had happened she needed to continue her life, she couldn’t just sit quiet forever, even if that was what she wanted. She continued to stream and upload on her Instagram as if nothing had ever happened, she returned to school and started hanging out with her friends again, as if nothing had ever happened. That was what she needed to do, to act as if everything was normal, and continue on with her oh so boring life. She longed for something that could get her mind off her brother, something exciting that could make her smile and laugh again, but she had no idea what it could be. She practiced the guitar, acrobatics, gymnastics, her Spanish and even studied, but they had always been a part of her routine, they didn’t make her life more exciting.
And the endless routine had ended there again, watching whatever was on the TV like any other, her ‘’personal time’’, the time where she was supposed to relax, she watched TV because she had nothing else to do. Suddenly her phone rang, it was most likely father, mother, grandfather or William, they were the only people who ever called her. Knowing who it was most likely going to be she wanted to ignore the call, but at last she gave in and saw who the caller was, to her surprise, it was Jangmi, her best friend from school. She picked it up immediately when she saw Jangmi was the caller. Jangmi asked why it had taken her so long to answer, but before Coco could even get an answer out Jangmi began talking again. Jangmi had gotten an idea, something she knew was perfect for Coco, Coco wondered what it was, and she was surprised upon hearing the idea. Jangmi knew how good Coco was at gymnastics and acrobatics, and she had seen Coco dance, Jangmi was sure that Coco was the best dancer in the world. Coco was surprised at the sudden idea, it was quite unexpected, she had never thought about joining a competition, she hadn’t done that since middle school, she didn’t like competing, would it really be a good idea? Jangmi continuously said that Coco needed to join the MGAs, and at last Coco answered that she would consider it.

Good luck she hears her mother say, she looks to the side to see her mother, they sit in the car right next to the high school where Coco is supposed to audition. Coco could’ve just taken public transport to get here, but she didn’t want that, she wanted her mother’s support. Normally it was her brother who would cheer her on in such situations like these, mother and father would too, but not like William. She hasn’t even told William about joining the MGAs, she doesn’t want to. ‘I know you wished your brother was here’ she hears, the words come from her mother, Coco has always been close with her, but not like she is with her brother. “Perhaps, but he always talked about wanting to go back to the US, I think he’s happy now that he’s finally back in the US.” She sends a smile to her mother and gets one in return. ‘Did you tell him about this?’ Coco’s mother asks. “No I didn’t, he’s in the US for a reason, he needs time to concentrate on the things he’s doing. I haven’t told a lot of people, I think you told our whole family” both giggle before Coco continues “and then I told my four closest friends at school, nobody else knows I’m joining”. It isn’t a secret that she wants to join the MGAs, but she sees no reason to brag and tell everybody about it, what if she ends up not qualifying? She sends a smile to her mother, it seems that it had become time for her to leave the car, but before doing that mother starts talking again. “Coco if I may ask, then why do you want to join?”. Oh, she knew she was going to be asked such a question, but not by her mother, and not already. Well it was a good question, she had multiple reasons for joining, she liked dancing, she longed for those kind of competitions she did in middle school, Jangmi wanted her to join, but was she going to give her mother an answer then it would take hours. “Because it sounded fun. Now goodbye mom” the goodbye is returned and Coco places a kiss on her mother’s cheek before leaving the car.
She looks at the building, a big smile suddenly forms on her lips, she’s excited, very much, she wants this more than anything, she wants to make Jangmi and her family proud, she wants something exciting and fun in her life. As far as she remembers she has never been here before, but who knows, she doesn’t have the best memory. She isn’t the only one here, no there are quite many, the place is filled with people, and to her surprise there are quite a lot who looks nervous. She looks at the clock ‘5.45AM’ it says, in the email it said they should identify themselves at 6AM, she hasn’t been too early has she? Most likely not, it seems like some of these people have been here far longer than she has.
She walks over to the entrance, quietly waits for her turn, still excited as ever to join something like this, and then she gets her handwritten name tag, “thank you” she says brightly
