I don't think I'll ever finish this, it's very old thing, so I'll throw it here as a wip This was supposed to be a series of redraw from animated wlw clip from Honk@i. I love the atmosphere of this clip and the way it's animated, but I'm so hate designs of female characters in gacha games and this games in general so I just wanted to make a couple pics with that atmosphere but with chars I like. Yesssssss, that's why this stupid discourse about "CaTrA and AdOrA aRe SiStErS" annoys me so much. When I had a girlfriend, I heard from almost everyone that we were “just sisters 😇 ” or that we “look like sisters 😋”. It's not as bad as “✨you're a good friends ✨” but it was annoying. It's a good disguise in a homophobic society, less suspicion = less life-threatening, but it's still annoying.

I don't think there would be any whining about “they're siblings” if Adora was a man. Glimmer and Bow supposedly grew up together, but no one says their ship is incest. Because even your childhood friend is always a “future wife/husband 😊” in the eyes of society, no one would ever think of hetero ships in that way.

i think another thing missing in this "it's literally incest" shipping discourse, in all fandoms, is how often specifically gay and lesbian content has historically been cloaked in "like sisters/like brothers", "like family," sworn brothers and all that. that is a way that gay content has been snuck past censors, and occasionally a way gay content has been censored (see: sailor moon dub). saying that all these close relationships described as "familial" in fiction are familial, period, with no nuance and with the full force of a real-life blood sibling relationship, is ahistorical and goofy

and I've noticed that this sort of moral panic over "this thing that I've deemed incest-adjacent is a proship!" is disproportionately affecting gay ships... because many people, even ostensibly queer folks, see any non-blood-related close relationship between a man/boy and woman/girl as romantic by default, and any non-blood-related close relationship between men/boys or women/girls as familial by default

like, it icks me when people say a gay ship in fiction that is unrelated to each other is "incest because they're like family / like brothers / found family", because my wife and I have been told we're "like sisters" so many times by str8 people - living as gay out in the world, that happens! people will say you "just seem so close, like siblings" and it's admittedly obnoxious, but even when you correct them "that is actually my wife" they'll persist in it. you should not always take a relationship that, to you, "seems familial" at face value

I'm sick of reading crap about toxicity in fandom hashtag. I don't understand why there's so much whining around this fandom. Was there a collective session of cheap psychotherapy on netflix during the first seasons? Were people given bad psychology books during the premiere? I can't otherwise explain why everyone plays psychologists watching this show. I could think that maybe fandoms culture has gotten more annoying, but I don't see that in other fandoms. Can I get my dose of escapism without the moralizing, please? And what the fuck is this incest shit? Where did you all get that from? Do I really need to explain why a relationship between a human and a half-cat isn't incest?? They're two different biological species!1

But on the plus side, when I saw it agan I was so pissed I could get up and get a drink of water. Thanks (no), but I would prefer to be treated for apathy by other methods.
