I like Manga, recently discovered Yoneda Kou, and can't stop thinking about the two main characters, Yashiro and Doumeki.

“Designed it in American Comic style. It’s not finished yet, but it will be used for goods of some sort. I asked Mizoguchi Akiko-san* to translate the count-down design illustration” (from Yoneda Sensei’s twitter)
*Ms. Mizoguchi has a PHD in visual and cultural studies, works as a lecturer, interpreter, active in LGBT circles, and published a book about how BL changed society. She also recently interviewed Yoneda Sensei for a column in LGBT web magazine.

It’s a New Year’s present from Sensei! I’m adding the translation as my tiny gift ^^
Sensei’s comments
(1) Happy New Year. Sorry to bother with a funny drawing in the beginning of the year. It’s an excuse, but I was thinking of letting them take a pose which is unlikely for them in the main story. Wishing you the best in the new year.
(2) I shouldn’t say there is absolutely no chance for them to do it! If they ever do, please watch them warmly...(I mean the pose) anyway, I feel embarrassed, even though I drew it... it’s because it’s the New Year...
(3) After reading the replies, I am relieved to hear you are enjoying it. I was afraid you all may seriously back away, so I was thinking of an excuse. So glad I drew it--. Well, anyway, I hope you will continue to remember me well as Saezuru this year. Cheers.
Yoneda Kou’s Happy New Year drawing.

artemisrisen reblogged this from rougemind and added:
YOU MET YONEDA SENSEI???? Oh my god tell me EVERYTHING
Almost two years ago I was a lucky maso-chan and met Yoneda-sensei at Toulouse Game Show in France. If you could just see my face now you’d read it like a book filled with joy. Thanks to rlttc-chan I had all informations about the event and decided to go there with all I have. I was also motivated by nevergiveupondreamsfan and rlttc so I was determined to go. I remember me perfectly sitting hours before my laptop searching for a cheap flight and hotel near the event. And so I took the plane on 29th Novembre from Frankfurt to Toulouse. I landed there in the evening and took the bus to my hotel. Just a little walk and I was there in my super cute Hotel named “Saint Claire”. I was excited to see a bit of the city. Just unpacked the suitcase and got outside. And since it was the end of Nov everything was decorated in christmas mood. Sparkling stars and christmas trees everywhere. It was not so cold but felt like autumn. You know at that time Yoneda-sensei had still her great twitter account and posted pictures from her visit in france. So I saw places she saw too. And how nice must she been feeling at that time? If I haven’t it wrong in my mind it was her first time being in europe and besides Toulouse she went visting the city of love Paris! At that evening I met an man who indroduced the city to me! He was an teacher and an artist. We got together to the christmas market and had an mulled wine. After he brought me back to my hotel we never have seen each other again, but never mind. That wasn’t why I was there, right? The next morning was the final day! I get up very early to be ahead of time at Toulouse Game Show and for my feeling I was there in time but haven’t count in this heavy crown before the entrance. I haven’t seen sth. like that before. So many cosplayers, fans and just human being’s. But I wasn’t about to despair and asked me trough this people. And the france people were so lovely and helpful, all I’ve met in that time! So I made it to an staff member of Toulouse Game Show and explained everything to him. If he hadn’t helped me out I wouldn’t have met Yoneda-sensei and would maybe still stand in the line. He “smuggled” me to the entrance and I was finally in! But having not much knowledge in france it was also not so easy to find the stall of the publisher! So I asked a again and got helped again! ^^ And I was finally there. You had to register before and get a copy of the france edition and stand up the line for Yoneda-senei. It doesn’t matter but maybe I was the 7th or 8th person who was honered to see her. And…~breathing heavily when I was finally in I felt incredible happy. She was sitting there with two other japanese woman (translators). And all of them being super kind and friendly. Since they’re expected me to be france I just had to explain myself that I came from Germany to see her. The translators could also help in English so we kept going on. Yoneda-sensei was super surpised to see her japanese Tanko’s I brought with me. Won’t forget her super sweet “Eeeeehhh?” in my ears. Also her appearance was beautiful, all of the women were. But Yoneda-sensei had of course special attention. She wanted to write down my name and since romanji isn’t easy for an japenese (as vice versa for us) I helped her how to write it. So my Tanko 2 has my name written by Yoneda-sensei in it. She also signed my Tanko 1! I also had an present for her. She unwrapped it not with me being there but later posted it on her twitter. It was a chocolate christmas calendar. And she seemed to like it! I was glad and very happy about that! I don’t know how many time I was with her at that moment of meeting her but it was some minutes. And I won’t forget me first leaning agaist a wall after going out to realising what just happend. In all this time I felt a bit like Doumeki staring at his beautiful Boss. After a few minutes I got to the stall and got also the poster what’s now at my wall. When I was back at the hotel I reported my expierence to the Tumblr maso-chan’s. You can read if you like here and here and here. I have also taken a picture of the signed Tanko 2 and the goodies. At the last evening I remember me having TUC and french wine…and I cried because I was so happy. ^^ Thank you for making me remember this great pilgrimage! It was so precious and I was lovely supported in this journey so I still hope to meet up Yoneda-sensei again maybe with some of you with me! :)

I had been away from the Saezuru fandom for a while and lost touch.so I can't judge well about recent happenings, but as I understand rouguemind's post, I agree with her and back her 200%. let us respect each other's differences in order to enjoy our favorite works together. We're here to have fun and share views right? I read Japanese fluently, is an avid Yoneda freak, and full of obsession about Saezuru, but some analysis here were eye-opening. I am here because it was great to feel other's love for Sensei and discussions were fun. I am struggling to find time to get back to the fandom once my personal matters were settled, so am sad to think it's not a friendly place anymore. let me repeat, we're all here to have fun. let's remember others are entitled to it too. I hope there's a small space for me to have fun too :)
What the hell is wrong in saezuru fandom?
I can’t find my maso-chan self into it more and more. We buildt up a friendly, respectfully, understanding and equal fandom with everyone being treated as that human being that he is. Analysis, opinions, feels and even criticism were taken seriously. Some posts were real masterposts in research and quality in my opinion. So I can’t remember any coursing so far. Now what*s this lately? For me it’s childish gameplay somehow…
Not gonna refer to any posts in this case ‘cause this would be denoucing and I seriously loathe this kind of treatment. Please notice that I am not taking part for a side or something! We just should be able to reflect and concentrate on the essential. SAEZURU AND HER INCREDIBLE MASTER YONEDA KOU! If we can’t make it and start fighting about nothing - we get an 08/15 superfical and boring fandom. And I have no intention to join such conversations.
We’re free in our way to see things, feel things and interpret things and being human also means we are not infallible. Everyone does mistakes but than why not taking responsebilitys for errors? It’s no shame, I am doing even right now with writing this down with a lot’s of grammatical mistakes in English language. But you still understand me, right? :) But I am also glad for someone telling me I am wrong, cause how should I do it better in future? It reminds me on rlttc-chan giving me a different view on the scenery in chapter twelve, where Yashiro pretends to asleep and I was happy with it. And okay I guess it’s proof that atm a online translator can’t give us the correct meanings from a complex language as japanese is with it`s agglutinative linguistic structure. It even messes up my translations from our romansh language from German to English. But it still helps us and just use it with caution. Over the years on Tumblr I learned how important it is to source things correctly and being aware of the things I write. We’re so many people from so many different countrys, we might get each others meanings sometimes wrong. When I started here I wasn’t informed well but I got to know the rules fast. You know I started here being in the OP fandom and was shocked how “Tumblr oldies” denouce people really hard for not sourcing or seeing things differently. So I distant myself from them, cause they were celebrating themselves too much. Getting all full of theirselves cause they get attention and followers and loosing the essential a way to often out of view. I really hope saezuru fandom won’t end this way too for me.
Being busy with work and life it isn’t so easy for me anymore to share much feels to our fandom but still try to collect informations or finding comparsions or read the posts in the tag. And when I think about it, it still takes time to want to create a post well researched, good looking, sourced etc. I guess many people might feel this way too. Being exhaused from school, studying, work, sports or just every day life. And it’s okay to take time for it, especially I’d say when it comes to translations. I want to get my birds “right”. So I’d wait forever patiently for it. That’s maso nature right? ^^
Please excuse my long ramblings here- I had this feels the first time when nevergiveupondreamsfan got anonhate and they heaped up with time and now I wanted to let my bird in the cage fly.
shortcut:
- focus on what is essentail in saezuru (and no it’s not only sex x)
- don’t offend or denounce others for having a different way of view
- stay with your feels but be open-minded for a new horizon
- don’t forget to research, source properly and take your time
- forgetting things is human
- fangirl and maso whenever you feel like it
- appriciate our Yoneda-sensei
- don’t shitstorm, hate or dash on small things
- being respectful, friendly, kind, strong and beautiful with each other
Feel free to add! :)
#rouguemind#sorry i had been away from fandom for a long time but my love for sensei and birdies are the same

Sensei started a new blog on “note” (only Japanese). Glad she took up a new message tool used by artists, since I was missing her real time comments after she dropped twitter. The articles in “note” will be basically the same as her official website and her mail magazine, so it’s enough to check one of the three tools she uses.
Also, I’ve never seen the pic of the two high school boys used in the background. Perhaps a cut from the new color illustration book she is preparing?
About Saezuru Tori wa Habatakanai Chapter 16, the story will be released in Ihr HertZ May issue coming out on 31 March 2015(1010yen) as scheduled. We will get another 25 pages of Saezuru this month! I can’t wait to get it, hopefully with the cherry blossom paper at Animate. (*^_^*)
BTW, this time, Sensei isn’t teasing us with spoilers, maybe she doesn’t need to tease us any further after the last page in Chapter 15? lol

wow! you trapped the flow of the story precisely. love the shift in Doumeki and Yashiro’s expressions. Doumeki is in pain for having to leave the room, and Yashiro is confused in the beginning but sexy in the end. Let’s look forward to the next chapter❤

The Good Thing That Hurts - Mozart Opera Rock
Now where does this strange feeliing Come from That fascinates me Just as much as it disturbes me I shiver stabbed by the beauty It’s like a knife in my soul The wound going right through my heart And I feel joy in the pain I intoxicate myself with this poison Until it makes me loose my mind
It’s the good that causes pain When you love Completely normal Your hate Enjoy It’s so good to suffer Surrender to the spell Let tears flow
It’s the good that causes pain Causes pain When you love Completely ordinary It’s the good that causes pain Your pain The true pleasures Are achieved only through torture Take down your weapons Let the tears flow
I can feel A violent urge I feel like I’m sliding towards the ground If I don’t find out Where this plague is coming from I adore Having it under my skin Bewitched by mad ideas Suddenly All my cravings take off The desire becomes my prison Until I loose my mind

In response to sengenji's question regarding my previous post about bookstore campaign, whether Yoneda Kou's original Valentine's day paper is available in Shinjuku. Regarding the Valentine paper, Nippan haven't provided a list of participating stores. However, in Shinjuku area, there are large bookstores in the area with BL selections such as Forest(Kinokuniya) and Animega(Marui Annex), which often participate in this type of campaign. Look for the above POP for the campaign, or ask the sales clerk whether the store is participating.
Also, about the Cherry Blossom viewing paper(no sample yet), provided for the Taiyo Tosho Animate campaign, you can get it at Animate Shinjuku. FYI, Forest and Animate are close by, and Animega is about 10 minutes walk away.
Hope you'll be able to get the paper you want :)

“BL Comics Selected by Book Store Sales Clerk2015” Campaign
Among the BL comic top ten ranking, two works by Yoneda Kou were included, “Saezuru Tori wa Habatakanai” and “Soredemo Yasahii Koi wo Suru” in 8th and 9th place, consecutively. BL book fair will be held in selected book stores this March and April, with Yoneda Sensei’s original paper gift with purchase of selected items.
BL book list subject to special paper gift
Ten Count Toshishita Kareshi no Renai Kanriheki Kuroneko Kareshi no Aishikata Umibe no Etranger Hitorijime My Hero Saezuru Tori wa Habatakanai Hana to Usagi
The paper is about Misumi visiting Yashiro’s office on Valentine’s day, eager to receive chocolates. FYI, in Japan, women give men chocolates on Valentine’s day as sign of love/respect/etc, and men gives back gift one month later on “White Day”.
Misumi is furious in the office, that Yashiro never gives him chocolates although he visits every year on Valentine's day. Y tries to evade the request, gets tired of the persistency, and orders Doumeki to go buy some. D is willing to run an errand, but Misumi declines since it beats the purpose. Amou has "give me a break" written all over his face, and offers to buy everything on the shelf. According to Sensei’s comment, in the scale of 1 to 5, it’s 2 as comedy and -1 in romance(for Amou). I already own the Tankobon, but I might buy another just to get the paper..

The pic for the Animate fair hasn't been released , but Sensei mentioned that it’s about cherry blossom viewing at Yashiro’s Kumi. Doumeki, Yashiro, and Nanahara will be in the pic. In the scale of 1-5, she ranks it as 1.5 in comedy, and 2 as romance. So it does have some love flavor, and I’m desperate to see Nanahara safe and well! Guess I'll purchase ihr HertZ at Animate♪ Looking forward to the end of the month, when next Saezuru chapter is released on HertZ ♥♡♬☺(✿ฺ´∀`✿ฺ)

Daiya no Ace was scheduled to end in March, and fans were wondering how the story could end with Sawamura still not recovered from yips. However, there was an announcement that the series will continue again from 6 April 2015, at a different schedule.
The new time slot will be Monday 18:00, instead of Sunday 8:30 ! The news shows how popular the series is. I'm so glad, since this and Yowamushi Pedal are the only animes I'm watching now❤ Yay!!

Why do manga translated to English cost so much more, compared to original Japanese version?
There are lots of reasons, including logistics and localization costs. However, the biggest reasons have to do with differences between the U.S. and Japanese book markets. First of all, the Japanese manga market is many times the size of the U.S. market, so they can set prices lower and be sure they’ll make their money back. Here, we have to set prices higher or we may not break even on a book. Also, in Japan, the publisher sets the price, and has a lot more control over whether a store stocks the book. The store’s margin is lower, and they usually are not able to discount a book without the publisher’s permission. In the U.S., the stores have complete control over whether to stock a book, and they demand a much higher wholesale discount from the publisher. They are also able to offer discounts to consumers at will. Basically, it’s deceptive to compare the US MSRP to the Japanese MSRP. You should really be comparing the Japanese price to the lowest retail price you can find in the US. When Amazon puts a deep discount on our books, for example, then their prices are a lot closer to Japanese prices.

10 Dance Chapter 14 "Masquerade" is out on Reijin March issue! Caption on the title "Are you hiding yourself? or the truth ----- ?"
I'm not translating the story, and it's not even a summary, but I'll hide it under the cut to avoid spoiling anyone.
Not much action in this chapter, but the two Shinyas are like teenagers who just started dating, while being ready to compete one another in the 10 Dance competition. I think the highlight of the chapter is at the very end, when Suzuki asked about the "scary Waltz", the one Sugiki danced with a women in black dress. Sugiki's reply was "Masquerade", and Suzuki asked further about the partner.
In Chapter 1, Suzuki remembered watching Sugiki dance in a video, that he couldn't take his eyes off of him ever since. Suzuki wants to clear his doubt about the impressive dance, since Fusako says she never wore black in a competition. Suzuki even showed the video to Aki to confirm the partner was Fusako. In the next chapter, Sugiki's secret along with the details of the waltz, seems to be revealed. The title of the music was the only detail disclosed in this chapter, and I figure it's the first movement of "Masquerade" by Khachaturian.

Also, there was an announcement about the release of 10 Dance special gift booklet for the volume 2 campaign. The release has been delayed from July 2014, but hopefully is ready to be sent in March. I look forward to receive it next month!

The items included in the special set ("Graduation" booklet, costume change magnet, and the black board magnet, clear folders, and the box cover) are so cute❤ BTW the price of the set including both volumes of O.B. and various goods is NT$630.

so glad that you got your very own copy! buying the books are like voting for the artists, and glad that many fans in Italy are voting for Yoneda Sensei!!
also I love your doodles!! Togawa doesn't resist the urge to cuddle and Shima, happy but embarrassed by the open show of affection. Deguchi a bit jealous of Onoda concentrating on the book, and Onoda who can't help checking what's on the book.. they are so "alive", as if you sliced a moment from their lives.
thanks again for the cutest fanart❤

Who’s an happy seal here?? (●♡∀♡) I finally got my hands on Doushitemo and Soredemo in Italian!!! My babies speak Italian and I just couldn’t resist, I had to sketch them!! So happy!! and now I hope for Saezuru and NightS too!

Ihr Hertz March issue will be released on 31 Jan 2015, with Saezuru Tori wa Habatakanai Chapter 15, 36 pages!!
Yoneda Sensei's caption to the spoiler is "(Yashiro) trying his hardest to look cute". There is no hint about what the scene it is, but Y seems to be joking with D, and it's a relief to see the two of them relaxed in a safe place. Maybe Y is saying his wounds aren't hurting? but he's acting something with the forced smile, which is a bit worrying. Anyway, let's see it for ourselves in the chapter coming out at the end of the month!
Also, according to sensei's news letter, volume 3 of Saezuru will include up to Chapter 16, so let's look forward to the next Tankobon. ^^
She also mentioned that "Soredemo Yasashii Koi wo Suru", the sequel to "Doushitemo Furetakunai" will unfortunately NOT be a live action movie. She had the offer to make the sequel into a movie, before and after the "Doushitemo Furetakunai" movie's release, but she declined after deep consideration. She explained that the reason is in how she structured the work, including the fact that the work was originally released in the form of Doujinshi. She is sorry for those fans who were looking forward to a sequel to the movie, but wants us to enjoy the work in the form of manga.
I was actually looking forward to the "Soredemo" movie, but do understand Sensei's point of view, and will respect her judgement.
BTW, Sensei terminated her twitter account, but will continue to share info on her official blog and the mail magazine. I am still super busy offline, so don't count on me, but will share them when I can.
