Oh hey! That's my math! (og post here, I should probably repost on this account sometime). I had done this with multiple screenshots of them to get as accurate of an estimate I could and in the end I kept this one in the final photoset because it was the closest to the average. Like, a significantly small difference from the concluding number kind of close. Can confirm that while Nintendo may have their own idea of how tall they are, their in-game models put Link and Zelda at approximately 5'2" and 5'6" respectively :)

#keep in mind I did this 1: with botw cutscenes only#2: disregarding the photograph memory from the champions ballad bc the character heights seemed inconsistent there#(maybe adjusted so they'd all fit nicely into frame together?)#and 3: avoiding hwaoc for those models potentially being sized differently for gameplay reasons#I'm by no means an authority on how tall any of the characters are I was just having fun#crazy seeing my work out in the wild tho asjgajhgalj

Every so often I sit back and think how astounding it is that all 19 mainline Zelda games are like... good? Like someone can run up to me and say any game is their favorite and I'd be all "I 100% understand. Hell yeah." Like, putting it into words 19 out of 19 games through 35+ years and many generations, Zelda has released just a fun time. Sure, many have problems but none of them have truly reached anywhere near subpar (in the "accurate" usage of the word).
However, looking at other game series and... damn son many gave out on their third or forth installment, maybe. When I hear other long running series are getting sequels, I think "damn, again? Can they just let it end?" When I hear Zelda is getting a sequel I think "fuck yeah, let's fucking gooooo."
Like maybe Zelda 2 is bad 35 years later. Maybe. But like... tripping once in the 80s and then chugging along nicely ever since is still impressive. And I think Zelda 2 has lots of things going for it and it's harsher edges are sanded down by modern emulation trends such as save states.
Regardless. 19 out 19 at least decent games, with most being plain good. Fucking insane. Here's to number 20 keeping up the streak hopefully.

#can attest since I’m playing zelda 2 on switch rn that while the game is eh generally save states make it more than bearable#it takes away how unforgiving it is with damage/death and gives more opportunity to just explore through good old fashioned trial and error#it’s turnin out to be my least liked 2d title in the series so far but it’s honestly not as bad as I was warned it’d be#modern tech makes things less dated who woulda guessed lmao

Revali's Gale died with him and we as a people don't talk about this enough.
Mipha has her brother and her father and a dozen zora who remember her face and a statue in her honor and so much that even if her legendary healing disappears she lives virtually forever in so many ways and so many people.
Riju is Urbosa's direct blood and in AoC she can use lightning too and there is no one who dares forget Urbosa's fury, and there's a chance it may even show up again.
Daruk's protection has a completely new user and Daruk's name is still infamous among the gorons. He lives forever too.
Revali has nothing.
He was a single landing platform named after him. No status, no one who knew him or remembers him besides Link and Zelda and maybe Kaneli and he couldn't teach anyone Revali's Gale because it wasn't even finished when he died, and Link can only use it with his help. When Revali's spirit passes on Revali's Gale disappears. Revali has no legacy. He'd be a footnote in the history books. Just gone.
