I am an adult dw 👍. Basically, I headcannon that after Cuba Charles got like ZERO game. Like people would not date him let alone sleep with him. Half cause of being a mutant, half cause of being in a wheelchair:(. So bro is like having a hard time, no pun intended. But after dark phoenix, Paris proposal, I think we all agree Cherik made up for lost time on Genosha and had sex and Charles either sobs cause he hasn’t been touched lovingly like that in years or had the best night of his life. Idk, I felt like I needed to get this out of my head.

Charles so would put his everything into running the school, putting his own feelings and needs aside. Not just because he's always been the one to give and give and give, but also because he never got over Erik. When you bond with someone like that on such a deep level, it is hard to move on.

I feel like there would be a little bit of both. Charles and Erik would both cry. Charles because he had missed being touched and desired like this by his literal soulmate and Erik because he can feel how much he has hurt Charles throughout the years and how much he has to make up. And oh boy does he.

erik having his wanda maximoff moment by having to watch charles die in his arms.

the x men and the brotherhood having to work together to defeat a threat against mutants, and the point is not if they win or not, the point is, a lot of mutants die, and charles is one of them.

erik finds him down on the floor. his wheelchair a few feet away, and there’s a lot of blood. erik doesn't even hesitate to kneel beside him and hold him to support his upper body (just like in cuba)

charles is still conscious, and when he realizes the person holding him is erik, he smiles softly, relieved, that he'll have the chance to say goodbye to him. he'll call erik old friend, will murmur something about his stupid helmet and erik will take it off his head so charles can get inside his mind.

maybe charles casts an illusion, where they are far, far away from the battle, maybe laying together in charles' bed, or maybe playing chess. or maybe they'll just stay there, numb to the rest of the world, just feeling their minds intertwined after so long.

charles will thank him for letting him inside his mind one last time, and erik is starting to panic. charles is dying. right in front of him, he can feel his body getting heavier, can feel the connection between their minds getting weaker, he puts their foreheads together and begs for charles not to leave him. and charles just looks at him, gives him another smile and says 'so long, darling.'

for a few seconds, everything is quiet. until the ground starts shaking and erik screams.

i dont know, i just really want a deranged erik who refuses to accept charles is dead and now is looking for any way to bring him back. because charles is charles, is the person he loves the most. because charles is good and it is unacceptable that other people, bad people full of hate who could never compare to charles, are alive and he's not. he won't stop until he has charles in his arms again.

I was looking into the cafe we see Erik and Charles sitting outside of at the end of Dark Phoenix, and

It's on a street called Rue de la paix (which I think is actually a real street in Paris) which means street of peace. Which I think is funny, since Mr Erik "peace was never an option" Lehnsherr is going there to see Charles. Looks like peace was an option after all, hmm?

The cafe they meet at is Les Vieux Copains (unfortunately not a real place), meaning The Old Friends. I think it is interesting how they didn't name it Les Vieux Amis which would mean the same, but instead chose to use the word copains, which as well as meaning friends can also mean boyfriends. Coincidence? I think not. Somebody on set design was a cherik truther.

(apologies to any French people if I've got this completely wrong. I can't say it isn't possible)
