Processions are going on all week. We did a final bus tour after saying goodbye to Wavey, traffic came to a standstill at the end, we understood why later as whole roads have been closed for processions. A slight fluster as we jumped in a cab beyond the closed roads and dashed back to pick up the luggage on the way to the airport. Having a glass of wine and some Cruzcampo (to amuse RR) before take off at 20:10. All in all a very good city break, one of the best.

But on the way we saw these…they must stash them in the appropriate churches in between processions

Casa Pilatos. Built from about 1500, started by parents and finished by son. So called in reference to the son’s participation in the Crusades.

What an atmosphere here in Seville. Every living person is on the street all in their Sunday Best awaiting the processions. Every bar and restaurant is spilling out onto the avenues, all the chairs await the spectators and the route is lined. The hum of conversation fills the air, TV cameras are here, and lots of people in the KKK garb - takes a bit of getting used to….beautiful sunny day as well.

Stupid shots of the gardens. This is the Real Alcazar (royal palace/castle). Three different buildings comprise it reflecting the ruler/religion and consequent styling of the time, from 13th to 16th century across Jewish, Muslim and Christian societies…living successfully in harmony for 800 years apparently…unlike today😕
