Succession finale just scared the shit out of me. No matter how much education or money a woman has, she cannot live in delusion. She will be forced to see and accept the ugly truths of her family. She will be forced to make gut wrenching decisions so they can be saved even if it kills her. She will never be the good guy. And above all she will be reduced to a wife and a mother.

you know im actually so glad that this ended the way that it did, because shiv was absolutely right. kendall was not the right person for this job. and not only was it already being shown how quickly kendall was becoming a monster just like logan was with the power just only in his grasp (the scene of him “hugging” roman??? the irony??) and how much worse things would have become with him in charge. in the end shiv not only protected herself by voting against kendall but she probably also saved both herself and roman from the continued cycle of abuse and manipulation. shiv finally broke the cycle even if it sticks her in her own private hell for the rest of her life

I want to hate kendall and cheer at his downfall but that whole "overachieving rebellious eldest child who swears they will break the cycle but end up becoming their abusive parent instead" thing hits a little too close to home 💔
