Tacotober is Here

31 Tacos in 31 days

All hail the power of Tacos!

These are the rules as dictated to me by the father of Tacotober - Brian K.

1. Any mixture of two or more traditional items in a folded tortilla constitutes a full taco.

2. Traditional items are: beans, meat, potatoes, cheese, salsa, rice, avocado, guacamole, lettuce, cilantro etc. You know, taco stuff..

3. Choco Tacos count as a full taco
. (RIP Choco Taco)

4. Mini tacos and taquitos only count as 1/2 a taco.

5. Fusion tacos (Tacos with ingredients like Daal, Korean BBQ, and haggis etc.) only count as 1/2 a taco.

6. You must eat 31 tacos during the month of October to be considered an official Tacotober member.

7. After the great taco shortage of 2007, it is no longer necessary to consume a taco at every meal. But, it is smiled upon by the great taco god, Cilantro the Conqueror.

8. Spread the word of Tacotober at work, with friends, at your house of worship, and via your social networks.

9. It is suggested that you create a “contest” with your friends and co-workers to determine who is most deserving of Cilantro the Conqueror's love by eating the most tacos during the month.

DONATE! GET A SONG! 

For 2023 (like in previous years) we’re hoping that folks with the means can make a donation to Feeding America to help those that don’t always have access to food. You can make a donation here. Give as much as you can. We know it’s been a tough couple years so give if you can, give. If you can’t, that’s ok we still love you. 

For those with deep pockets, we’ve decided to offer personalized songs written and performed by Drastic Cats (aka Robbie and Mike)! Each song is written and recorded in about an hour (like Lens Crafters) typically with one -- or maybe if we have time -- two takes. 

Here are the exciting tiers:

• $50 donation: You get a short, but probably bad, song written about you based on information we’ve learned about you and your life. Some of it may be incorrect.

• $100 donation: You get a song, but you get to dictate what the song is about. It will still probably be bad.

• $250 donation: A cassette (yeah that’s right, a cassette) of all the songs we write during the month of Tacotober. Plus some Drastic Cats buttons we have lying around. 

• $500+ donation: All the stuff above plus a vinyl single of you song. You can be the ultimate music snob telling all your friends you prefer the warm tones of a vinyl pressing of a song two dudes wrote about you. The B-side will be dealer’s choice. 

After making a donation you can email me with your receipt. 

So eat tacos, donate, and prepare for amazingly weird and/or bad songs!
