Robert Week 2018 (the 2nd annual Robert Week) is officially over!! We’re sad, but also incredibly happy and proud of how this week turned out and blessed by all the people who took part. Whether it was making creations, sending in messages, or just interacting with the content that was rolling on the blog. You all made Robert Week 2018 special and we’re so thankful.
So onto a few announcements for people who weren’t in the fandom last year:
This blog will be kept open, for you to browse through the content all year long. So feel free to scroll down and use our master list, to help you find whatever you need. You can even check what people made last year by looking at this tag [robertweek2017]
Robert Week 2019, is a thing (and tbh as long as I’m breathing I’m gonna celebrate my favorite bisexual disaster.) Same dates as this year, and last year 4th September to 10th September 2019.
If the robertweek2018 stops working that just means we’ve switched to 2019, so just pop 2019 Instead of 2018 and it should work fine!
Masterlist:
Day one [here]
Day two [here]
Day three [here]
Day four [here]
Day five [here]
Day six [here]
Day seven [here]
Thank you again, it honestly warms our hearts how the fandom has taken to this week and really made it into something special. It really makes all the hard work worth it!
See you next year!!
Love Laura @peterbeale & Carla @andyoumattertome

Day 7: a scene about a topic I’d like to see Emmerdale give Robert
or, Robert has to take his own advice when Aaron makes him face up to his worrying behaviour.
“Robert,” Aaron started, returning to the kitchen where Robert was still making notes for the wedding. “Can you stop for a bit so I can talk to you?”
“There’s a lot to do, Aaron.”
“I know, but it can wait for five minutes. Please.”
“Alright,” Robert sighed. “What’s the matter?”
Aaron gestured towards the sofa. “Come over here and I’ll tell you.” He waited for the older man to make a move, and when they were sitting together he took a long breath and began. “I’m worried about you.”
“Why? I’m fine.”
“You’re not. Yesterday–”
“Yesterday was a one-off. You know I hardly ever get ill, and I feel a lot better now.”
“You need to slow down. If you don’t then you’re not taking your health seriously, and that scares me.”
For the first time that day, Robert looked at him properly. Really took in the fear on Aaron’s face. “Hey, there’s nothing to be scared of, okay?”
“Well, you’re in denial so that’s not very reassuring.”
Robert was torn between annoyance at Aaron’s words, and concern over why he was saying them. “What are you on about?”
Aaron can’t hold back now, his voice shaking. “I saw you collapse right here in front of me, Rob. And then that seizure…I’ve never seen you like that, and I was terrified I was going to lose you again. And then you discharge yourself from the hospital within hours, and you’re back here refusing to rest just like you wouldn’t before it all happened.”
“Aaron…don’t, don’t get upset,” Robert wrapped an arm around him. “I promise, I’m alright. I know this week has been a bit crazy, but now I just wanted to concentrate on us, on our wedding.”
“I get it. And I get why you’ve been non-stop this week, of course I do. I know you don’t want Seb going through what you did with your mums - with both your mums. But he needs his dad to be okay as well. The wedding, we’ll make sure we get it right but we don’t need to do everything right this minute.”
Taking in Aaron’s assurances, Robert found himself resting against him, letting the other man comfort him instead. “I’m sorry. It’s just there’s nothing I can do about Rebecca, I can't find her for Seb but I can make sure he knows he’ll always have us.”
“He knows that. Seb knows we both love him,” Aaron told him, rubbing up and down Robert’s arm now. “D'you not see the way he looks at us sometimes? You smile at him, or I do; and he smiles right back. His eyes follow you around the room, Robert. He’s a clever little thing. Which also means I bet even he knows you’ve not been well.”
“Alright, I get it,” he sighed. Then, after a minute, he smiled. “He is clever for his age, isn’t he?”
“‘Course he is. He’s a Sugden. Now are you going to do as you’re told and get some proper rest?”
“I’m not even tired, Aaron,” Robert whined.
“You don’t have to sleep, just try and lie down for a bit. Or we can just put on a film down here if you want. Look, how many times have you looked after me when I’m not well? Even when it’s just in my head, and you know I’m stressed and upset; you tell me to take it easy, don’t you? And you do whatever you can to make things easier on me.”
“It’s my job to look out for you,” Robert replied.
Aaron smiled softly. “And it’s my job to do the same for you. So shut up and let me.”
They looked at each other for a long moment. “Okay, point taken.”
“So?”
“So…the Bourne box-set and a takeaway for tea?”
Aaron grinned. “Deal.”

Loosely based on spoilers from today. If Rebecca being in a story isn’t your vibe, this isn’t for you. For @robertweek2018 day 7 and the prompt was: write a scene/story about a topic you’d wish Emmerdale would give to Robert. (It can be fun, it can be serious anything you’d like.).
everyone’s gotta be a hero, g, 3k, warnings: none. Robert isn’t willing to let Lachlan’s legacy be the murder of five.
With one misdirect down, they’re moving Lachlan to a more secure prison. He’s fully embracing his status now as ‘the serial killer you never knew’. Robert has read article after article digging into Lachlan and his background, them trying to find a motive in insanity. None of them mention the people left behind. The cousin he’s currently left motherless as he dangles her in front of them like a noose.

together (robert/aaron - emmerdale)
After the events with Lachlan, Robert agrees to go to counseling.
Written for Day Seven of Robert Week - “ Write a scene/story about a topic you’d wish Emmerdale would give to Robert.” <my other robron week fics>
So this is something I’ve been thinking about pretty much since Robert got shot and basically… walked it off? Like… after a slight panic attack at the hospital he was just totally fine. I personally think that Robert might have some form of PTSD or trauma related anxiety which is why he avoids discussing anything either obsesses over or throw himself into another problem. Or, you know, self destructs. But as I’m not a mental health professional, just someone who struggles with her own, I could be wrong.
“How did it go?” Aaron asked him as soon as he came home from the scrapyard and found Robert sitting on their bed. Robert had finally agreed to go and talk to Aaron’s counselor. After the seizure and the entire Lachlan ordeal, Robert had finally relented that maybe, just maybe, he should go and talk to someone.
As much as the prospect of opening himself up to someone he didn’t know terrified him, he couldn’t turn Aaron away when he’d held Robert tightly and cried over how he’d been so terrified he’d lost Robert and that he couldn’t watch Robert go through that again because he wasn’t slowing down.
“All right,” Robert said. “I’m going again later this week.”
“That’s good, innit?” Aaron asked, carefully sitting on the edge of the bed. He set his hand on top of Robert’s leg.
Robert shrugged. “I don’t know. I think she thinks there’s something seriously wrong with me.”
“Well, if there is, we’ll figure it out, yeah?” Aaron asked him.
“Yeah.”
“Vic’s keeping Seb overnight,” Aaron told him. “Why don’t I get us some dinner and we’ll just have a quiet night.”
Robert nodded.
Aaron got up to kiss his cheek. “I’m really proud of ya.”
Robert nodded again and watched as Aaron left the room. He let out a breath and felt his throat burn as he held back tears. He felt raw and jagged in a way he hadn’t felt before. He hadn’t told Aaron that his counselor had recommended him to someone else because she worried that he might have a more serious condition underneath his fears and worries and anxieties.

Helping Hand - Aaron/Robert
❤ Robert Week 2018: Day 7 - Write a scene/story about a topic you wish Emmerdale would give to Robert ❤ 900 words, Teen ❤ Robert tries to help out the Dingles because they’re family now, right?
“What the hell happened? I was waiting for ya to call me,”
“He tried to be a hero - ”
“ - He got caught - ”
Robert groggily blinks his eyes open to see he’s in a hospital room and his head is throbbing. He guesses the three people in front of him were talking about happened, figuring he was still unconscious and wouldn’t mind them trying to besmirch his name, surprisingly including his husband. At least Aaron looks worried.
“I was following the plan,” he croaks, “before some thug clocked me.”
“You tried to be a hero,” Charity nods.
“He got caught,” Cain adds, with an unreadable expression but something in his eyes makes it seems like he’s silently judging and smirking at Robert.
“Robert!” Aaron breathes, ignoring his relatives to squeeze Robert’s elbow. “How’re ya feeling?”
He thinks about it for a second. His brain feels like it’s rattling around in his skull and his coccyx is sore, probably from where he landed hard. He might’ve been trying to right a wrong with a little breaking and entering, but there was no need to make him feel like he’d gone a round with Anthony Joshua.
“Sore,” he mumbles vaguely, shutting his eyes again because the darkness behind his eyelids is a bit more bearable.
“I can’t believe you didn’t talk him out of this,” Aaron says, clearly directing it at them as they hover awkwardly by Robert’s bedside.
“You were in on it!” Charity laughs, “And he’s your husband!”
Robert squints. “As if I’d ever listen to him,” he jokes, coughing through a dry throat. Aaron jumps like a firework was lit under his arse and he must ask him when he’s better if he quite likes being able to take care of Robert like this because he’s pretty good at it, even if he’s sometimes a difficult patient. Aaron hands him the plastic cup of cool water, takes a few sips then realises they haven’t told him the outcome yet. “So did we do it?”
Three weeks prior, Cain got wind of the fact that some dodgy cars were coming into the garage, courtesy of a local gang of criminals. Hardly a stranger to crime himself, he’d devised a plan to place the cars outside one of the gang’s many hideouts and give their rivals an anonymous tip to get the evidence off his turf for good. He never would’ve thought of it if PC Swirling hadn’t already been sniffing around the garage, suspicious that Cain had got a hand in the business of stealing, cloning and splicing the cars together.
A bored Charity behind the bar is a dangerous Charity and it didn’t take long for her to invite herself along on the day. Robert had been in the wrong place at the wrong time, picking his Porsche up after an MOT from Dan, but he wasn’t in that afternoon and Cain hadn’t been in the mood to answer his questions, although he was technically family now, so he’d told Robert what was going on. That night, Robert had told Aaron and suddenly they were involved, Robert quite enjoying being part to ‘right’ a wrong, the Dingle way.
Until two hours ago anyway when Robert was supposed to be the lookout as Cain broke into the gang’s counterfeiting garage and Charity and Aaron drove the cars in. The call never came as Cain disappeared inside and Robert was left on his own, forgetting in his panic how he was meant to alert Cain as he was faced with three burly blokes stalking towards him.
“Just about,” Cain grouses. “I had to take 'em out on my own 'cause you were spark out, like usual.”
“Alright, that’s enough,” Aaron shakes his head, frowning at his uncle. “It’s not like he did it on purpose. He was helping us.”
It shuts Cain up, even if Charity is barely holding in her laughter. Eventually, Cain extends his hand. It’s like the holy grail of Dingle lore to get a handshake from him, arguably the one to take the responsibility of the clan once Zak is no longer alive.
“Thanks, I guess.”
“Any time.” Robert smiles, reaching out. “I’ll probably stick to lying to the police or something next time.”
“Yeah, at least you’re good at that!” Charity guffaws, letting Cain push her out of the room.
Robert feels Aaron touch his elbow again and he grabs for his hand instead. He can tell they’re both relieved it was just another punch to the floor and a resulting headache and nothing more serious.
“You need to stop hitting your head. You’re not a boxer.”
“Not like you ya mean,” he teases, kissing Aaron’s knuckles. “Scrapper, boxer, what next eh? Car thief?”
He smirks and Aaron looks embarrassed at being reminded of those old memories. Robert wasn’t best pleased at the time when Ross and Aaron decided to steal his Audi, but - knowing where he and Aaron got to together - the memory has a special place in his heart, rightly or wrongly.
“Shut up and rest,” he grumbles.
“I don’t negotiate, remember.”
“You callin’ me an idiot?”
“Ah, so you do remember that then?”
Aaron rolls his eyes. “Sleep, Robert.”
Robert shuts his eyes and smiles. “Yes, dear.”
He feels Aaron press a kiss to his cheek and he squeezes his hand in his. He might’ve temporarily lost a car that day and got punched today, but unlike then, he now had a grumpy, sarky husband to take care of him.

Robert Week Day 7 - Best Storyline - Gordon’s Trial
One of my absolute fav versions of Rob. It took all the core dynamics of Robron, that we saw in parts during the affair, & brought it out, in the best possible way. Rob could read Aaron so well. He knew something was tormenting him, & he would not let it go, until Aaron stopped bottling it. He pushed Chas to open her eyes, & not disregard Aaron’s feelings. He supported Aaron with no expectations. He was there for him, even when Aaron didn’t know. He gave him space when he needed it. He was willing to do anything for Aaron to get justice.

Michael Schulte : You Let Me Walk Alone Robert Week 2018
Day 7 : Write a scene/story about a topic you’d wish Emmerdale would give to Robert.
It’s her anniversary today. Every time he visits her, he feels differently.
For many years, he felt like very alone. He just wanted his mum, he missed her so much. She always listened. She gave the best hugs and always made him feel special, that he mattered.
Many times it’s just sadness. His mum was the only one that understood and knew what to say to him. She always looked out him, supported and encouraged him. She never made him feel like a disappointment. She never let him down.
There were times when he was angry with her. He’s left to face the world alone. If she hadn’t died, he would not have turned out like this. He would have had someone he could turn to, someone that would have talked sense into him. He wouldn’t have turned out like this.
Sometimes it was melancholy. When somebody says something and he’s reminded of her. It comes out of nowhere when he sees Aaron having a laugh with Chas. It creeps up on him when he thinks how his son will grow up without a mother too.
Recently its regret. She never got to see the man he is now. Happy. Married with a family. A confident and strong man who’s not scared anymore. Someone who’s proud of who he is. It’s ok though … he knows that she knows.
It’s been 18 years and Sarah Sugden will always be in his heart. The pain has lessened over the years but it will never completely go away.
I’m a dreamer A make-believer I was told that you were, too I love the silence And a clear horizon And I got it all from you
Every now and then I’m drawn to places Where I hear your voice or see your face and Every little thought will lead me right back to you
I was born From one love of two hearts We were three kids and a loving mum You made this place a home A shelter from the storm You said I had One life and a true heart I tried my best and I came so far But you will never know Cause you let me walk this road alone
My childhood-hero Will always be you And no one else comes close I thought you’d lead me when life‘s misleading That’s when I miss you most
