ꔫWhy Do People Age Regress?

ꔫThere is a number of reasons that an individual may age regress!

ꔫBecoming familiar with terms “voluntary” and “involuntary” will be very useful in your understanding!

Voluntary: “intentional, done because one wants to”

Involuntary: “unintentional, carried out without one’s own wishes”

ꔫSo, age regression is something that can be done voluntarily or involuntarily. To restate, it can happen because one chooses to or because one unintentionally falls into the state.

ꔫVoluntary regression, oftentimes, is for fun or relaxation! However, it is sometimes also done voluntarily as a choice between different coping mechanisms.

ꔫInvoluntary regression is “triggered”. Despite the connotations of the term “triggered”, this does not always mean something negative! Yes, triggers for regression can be stress, anxiety, fear, etc., but they can also be happiness, comfort, external environmental factors, etc.

ꔫWhen used as a coping mechanism, age regression is commonly defined as “returning to a time where you felt safer, things were easier, and/or less stressed out.”

ꔫRegression is not always a bad experience, but it’s not always a good one either! Both happen, both are real, that’s okay!

ꔫWhether or not you are a voluntary or involuntary regressor, if you regress for fun or to cope — or a combination of all of these things — that is perfectly valid. All that matters is that you are safe, happy, and doing what’s good for you!

The Super Easiest Ways to Feel Little

(Absolutely Zero Gear Required)

🍊 use your non-dominant hand!

Whether it’s using a fork or brushing your teeth, using the wrong hand will make your tasks a little more difficult, like you’re learning them for the first time!

🍊 use both hands!

Like holding a cup or carrying things around, sometimes little ones need to be extra careful not to drop things <3

🍊 try it a new way!

Walking around? Maybe you could skip! Or only step on the white tiles! Or carefully step over the concrete lines! Little ones are so creative, they can turn something simple into something super fun

🍊 give it a voice!

“Well hello Mr. Fork, how are you doing today?”“Very well, thank you, Mr. Spoon.” No toys, no problem! What do you think your comb would say if it could talk?

🍊 no erasing!

Write/draw/journal with something that can’t be erased, like a pen or a marker (sharpies are my favorite!). The mistakes don’t matter, so if you mess up, keep going! Can you fill the whole page?

Age Regression is not about the objects you have, it’s about reclaiming the mindset of curiosity and healing the part of yourself that finds joy in the little things. <3

I’m going to have very fast month because I’ll be moving and I have lots of shifts. I’m planning to get my money spending under some care and not to be on my phone so much.

I’m feeling little and I can’t get this idea of Daddy Bucky helping you with a night routine.

Cleaning your face in front of the big bathroom mirror as the moon is already up, a big smile on his face as you giggle because he draws smile faces on your forehead and cheeks with a cream.

Then he helps you brush your teeth, telling you to show him your pearls like a tiger.

And then he’s picking you up, peppering your face with kisses as he’s walking with you towards the bed.

You’re not sleepy, not yet, so he lets you sit in the bed with your plushies and pretend some game again. Your therapist said that it can be helpful to try to grow you fantasy.

But then you’re falling in front of you, your face burying into the duvet. “Is someone getting sleepy, hm?” Bucky asks but you only nuzzle to your daddy, wanting only him to hold you and read you a bedtime story.

Poly marauders and reader who is sad and you’ve been sad for a few hours and suddenly you start to cry and they panic and they don’t know about your age regression but they treat you like a kid regardless.

Immediately shushing you and telling “Hey hey hey, it’s okay, it’s okay, no more tears.” and they look a bit scared too, like Minnie would suddenly appear on their side and give them detention.

Rubbing your shoulder and telling that everything is okay as your lips wobble. You know you can’t slip in front of them, but you’ve been feeling slipping a lot that day so you just squeeze your eyes to let the tears out as they tell you how to breathe.

Then you can’t help but hide in James’ arms without saying anything, just hiding in his big arms as you go nonverbal, from the overwhelming feelings and from the fear too.

Surprisingly James is the one who realise how this situation is a bit child like. But it calms you down so he continues with it, as long as you are happy.

He doesn’t know about those things, he just knows that it works.

Rockstar daddy Sirius

Rockstar daddy Sirius and his little girl on a tour. You tend to regress quite more often than you used to due to the stress and those overwhelming feelings. Like happiness or that is new.

Sirius and you have your own trailer. The back of it is your bedroom. He even managed to split the room to build you a little corner.

There was a rainbow window film, making for anyone impossible to peak inside and to create a colourful warm set for you.

It was very small, but big enough to place there a little tent with pillows and plushies and for you to play on the ground.

Sirius Black is a messy person, but he always makes sure that your little room is clean and bedrooms too.

The rest of the van is a workplace. Like make-up, song writing, interviews. He never allows anyone to come near the bedroom, nor your little room.

He always cleans and dry your little supplies, hiding them back into your little box in your little room.

He loves when you’re sprawled on the bedroom floor. For your little mind it’s all parallel play. You play with legos, tea parties or anything while Sirius is playing on his guitar.

You bump into his legs, giggling as he signs who’s that little monster nibbling on his leg. He ends up tickling you, stroking over your hair as you hug his leg and settle there like in your own throne.

Thinking about Daddy!Remus and his little one getting a check up. How he would walk you to your doctor appointment, wait with you and then give you a paper with information of what to say.

How he would wait for you while you talk with your doctor. How he is whispering what a good little baby you are as he helps you back into your coat.

How he holds your hand in his. He would pick up some of your meds with you. Then he would buy you a new sippy cup and little plushie and some yummy snack for how brave you were.

Then when you’re back home he’s helping you into your onesie, putting some comfortable sweatpants and socks on.

He tucks you in with your favourite plushie. Pulling you closer to him as he holds a bottle with milk/tea to you. Whispering sweet nothings into your ear as you slowly drift away. He lets you take an early nap. You’re his sick little baby, afterall, and you deserve to rest.
