This discussion is interesting... about the canon ages and all. I really didn't have any problem with guessing character's ages in botw because by how they are treated by others, their appeareance and how they act in-game. The only character I was wrong of how old she was, was Riju. I thought she was 15-16 but smaller for a Gerudo, something I found cool about her. But apparently she was 12 in botw all along and that shocked me a little because looking back at how the Gerudo and Bularia treated Riju it makes sense why the Gerudo adults took care of her so much... I think other reason I thought she was older was because of her clothes and the fanarts of her depicting her as kind of childish but older and the Riju/Link and Zelda/Riju shippers. I don't think they did it on purpose, when the game launched we had to mostly especulate about the characters and all, so I don't blame them for not knowing, I didn't either until now.
But the other characters... it's obvious that Link, Mipha, Zelda and Revali are of similar age? For what other reason Mipha would like a teenager and not an older man? She looks and acts younger than the adult Zora npcs, even younger than adult Sidon! I know the whole Zora age slower is... something that could be seen as problematic, but we've seen similar things in fantasy with elves for example and people never say anything... but they get mad at Mipha and Sidon? I never understood that... oh, and Daruk, Teba and Urbosa are totally the older of the bunch so I didn't see anyone depicting them wrongly besides the Urbosa/Zelda shippers what do u mean you're shipping a mother figure with a minor girl?! Paya always looked Zelda and Link's age, 16 to 18 so I was right about that... and that's all I think? You can mostly get the character's ages right by how they behave overall, so it's a matter of looking at them and reading their info and not demonizing people that don't know their ages... age gaps between adults it's okay like Sidlink for example, but with children NO.
I know younger fans (12-16) don't care that much about character's age gaps because when I was 12 I didn't mind those things because I never put much thought on them until I grew up and felt disgusted by those things, but if you're past 20 and don't see a problem with shipping adults with kids, Link/Tulin for example don't watch japanese fanart PLS I BEG YOU, or with shipping incest or that kind of things... you'll be judged and despised. Don't be surprised, it's disgusting.

It's funny seeing people say that Link must be 17 because he looks like a teenager in BotW when he doesn't look any different in TotK which is some years later. Being like 2 years apart from Zelda wouldn't make him a pedo, that's not what that word means. Zelda's finished growing too since she doesn't get any taller in TotK either. Link is just short.
It's Riju who is the child and later teen who's not grown up yet.

Sidon trusts Link with his life, simple as that. It doesn't have to be romantic.
Seeing some suggest that Sidon likes Link romantically because he lets him ride on his back which is rare according to Zelda voice notes, but he does see Link like a sort of brother-in-law, so isn't he just seeing him like family?
No hate to Sidlink, I just don't think trust just means romance. The statue of Link ane Sidon is commemorating the time a Zora and Hylian worked together to save the domain

"Nintendo wouldn't have a 17 year old in love with a 18-20 year old!! they wouldn't!!"
Either Zelda (17) is in love with an 18-20 year old Link or Paya (18-20) is in love with a 17 year old Link. Looks like Nintendo doesn't care either way

do you guys think when Zelda cuts all her hair off in totk it supposed to symbolize her trying to forget her past, and links hair appearing longer (without the hair tie) is supposed to symbolize him reconnecting with his past and gaining is memories?
