The girls started out doing more traditional (and harmful) Idol stuff like strictly policing their diets and maintaining a certain (and impossible) degree of thinness. There was a bit more leeway because Celine didn’t want to push them that hard but there was a lot of public pressure to look a certain way and since their whole deal is gaining as much fan support as possible, that’s the initial route they took.

But shitty eating habits combined with a high demand job like being an Idol is one thing, having to hunt demons as well was another. And it was rapidly starting to affect their performance in both jobs.

One day Zoey spots a comment under an interview video where the person caught the fact that Rumi was almost completely out of it. She had only had a smoothie that morning and they had been up all night dealing with water demons. The fan expressed concern for them, pointing out the toxicity of the industry for expecting women to put themselves through it. There were a number of comments agreeing with the sentiment.

And that…starts something. Before their next show, Zoey brought along some snack bars for all of them. “The fans noticed we weren’t at our best,” she justified, “And these will get our calories up so we don’t burnout mid performance.”

Mira snagged a package and inspected it. “You know… I think I saw some athletes eating these before their events in the last Olympics,” she pointed out.

“And you know, we want to keep our fans happy,” Rumi agreed.

And that’s how “for the fans” became their justification to eat properly. They realized it was better for everyone - including the Honmoon - if they catered their lifestyle to appease fans who actually cared about their well being just as much as they cared for them. People who wanted to make sure they were eating enough, getting enough to drink, weren’t exhausting themselves. Fans that recognized that artists performed better when they weren’t under constant pressure and it showed when Huntr/x just kept releasing hit after hit.

And, you know, it’s also a good excuse to binge on delicious food from time to time
