Raquel Willis: βTransgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) has become like a holy day of obligation, a day of mourning and tragedy, a day for trauma to be resurfaced hourly, particularly for the Black trans sisters who are most at risk for violence. And a disappointing routine has also emerged, one in which these narratives are shared ad infinitum with no call to action on actually solving the problem, and not even a sliver of hope. But let this TDOR be different. Let us hold honoring those taken, and those powerful Black trans women who hold up a banner of hope for their communities every day.β

Last year, The HRC (Human Rights Campaign), reported that in 2019 alone, at least 26 trans and gender nonconforming people were killed in the United States alone. Disproportionately, Black trans people were the victims. Those I have illustrated here, do not even scratch the surface of what is, and should be recognised as, an epidemic. Now, more than ever, it is crucial that we do whatever we can to support the black trans community.Β

Three Uncles UK-based design studio Studio NinetyOne has created the branding, packaging and interior design for Three Uncles; a traditional Cantonese roast meat specialist in the heart of The City of London. The brand identity references the theme of repetition, abundant in Hong Kongβs neon street signs and high-rise buildings (an iconic part of the unclesβ memories), but also the repetition of chopping and stacking that defines the Sui Mei cuisine.
