Something something pre-forsaken Taph hiring Hacker!Reader to fend off against protestors in the Hack Your Heart AU

Imagine Taph being so desperate for some reassurance that he would be safe- seeing other demolitionists hunted down ruthlessly was a terrifying sight to behold- that he requested the help of one of the very people who’s homes he would typically destroy.

He had only heard about you in passing. In a stroke of luck, after searching for who knows how long, he finally found you! (Somehow doing it before the actual admin… then again their efforts were split between several things.)

Despite this going against part of his role as a demolitionist he requested your help and even promised to pay you. You would only be acting as lookout and if anything you were just glad that he wasn’t an admin there to ban you, so hesitantly you agreed.

Despite the circumstances you guys actually hit it off pretty well!

Despite knowing you were a dangerous hacker he felt almost safer around you. He no longer hid himself in his house most of the time and he found somebody that he could call a friend.

You eventually lowered your guard around him. He seemed fond of you and you enjoyed his company, while you didn’t entirely understand how his gadgets worked it was always fun watching him explain it to you. He was new and interesting!

Eventually the two of you found yourselves actually going out to places together! He felt lucky that he had scary guard dog privileges and he found himself genuinely enjoying your company. Such a strange way to find a new best friend.

With this newfound friendship & trust in each other you both vowed to keep this peaceful solace a secret from both sides.

Isekai!Reader but they are So lore brained that they’ll do anything to get information on things that are unknown

They know Way too much, ask questions that they clearly shouldn’t know, everyone is incredibly confused and Vaguely threatened.

They put themself in danger just to see if certain things remained the same, like testing out fall damage or even aggroing the killer to keep track of the time for each attack. They have an entire notebook dedicated to the people, maps, item & generator placements, The Spectre itself, etc. it’s Concerning to say the least.

Reader is just like “well if I’m gonna be here for an eternity I might as well make the most of it”

Anyway I feel like a lot of hacker!reader’s plot pre-forsaken would be trying to figure out who they are while they just barely get away. 7n7 & Noli are Def gonna try and look into them after being accused of something that they didn’t even do, Shedletsky & Dusekkar are probably going to help with research on the admins side.

To include some others Elliot could be strung into this because Reader loves to go to his pizza place (for multiple reasons iykwim/j)

Chance could Probably be an accomplice or somebody who covers for Reader? I’d need to look up more of his lore but I think he would be a fun part to include

For the rest I wouldn’t entirely know what to do with them, hence why I think requests would help

Hacker!Reader who’s learned how to exploit but never drew attention to themself

Hacker!Reader who pinned the blame on other hackers while running away scot free

Hacker!Reader who copies the way that other hackers exploit so that there’s less of a chance they get caught

Like imagine how much of a mind fuck they’d be. The admins trying to hunt down certain exploiters only to find out that they weren’t even there at the scene of the crime?? Not only that but there are no traces of who actually did it and after interrogations all the witnesses seemed to not see anything out of the ordinary before it happened.

These strange events are so few and far between that they can’t exactly pin down any recurring events or people between each of them. Half of the time they can only guess if it was done by the obvious exploiter or you.

I feel like it would cause some interesting dynamics between you, Builderman (if he ever gets involved), Shedletsky/Telamon, 007n7 & Noli both pre & during forsaken. Reader coming into Forsaken and then everyone just doing the Spider-Man pointing meme if they ever got caught pre-forsaken
