I can’t believe we have another person with no empathy as Prime Minister. The @miamatangi documentary is very interesting. Well worth watching. You really get to see how people within the mainstream work to attack an artist when they get involved in telling the truth about politics. You get to see, as an artist how brave and strong you have to be to speak up on politics rather than keep quiet and just take the money. After watching I was thinking about Stormzy getting to number 1 with F*** The Government and F*** Boris line and how he is playing to huge crowds and rewinding that part. You have to big up any artist with a more main stream platform who really speaks honestly and through their art, platform real world situations, that the mainstream do not want people to hear. Been listening to my M.I.A records. Lots of them still sound so futuristic....Bird Flu still sounds crazy and bangs! Ofcourse Paper Planes is great and I never realised the chorus was repping that immigrant experience of "they're taking our jobs".
