"I would never-"
You would if you were tired enough. You would if you were hungry enough. You would if your mind and body had been worn down enough, through pain or disease or toil or violent struggle. You might if you were put on the wrong medicine, or you got the wrong kind of head injury, or you were forced to choose between someone else and yourself. You might if your livelihood was staked on it, or all your hopes and dreams. You might if you didn't know what else to do, if it's what you were taught or if nobody taught you anything else.
I have not been worn down in most of these ways. I have lived a remarkably privileged life. But I have been worn down in some ways. And they were enough to teach me that in the wrong circumstances, any of us can become someone we don't want to be. It's worth keeping that in mind.

How very depressing that Neil Gaiman had trended not even a tiny bit for demonstrating what a fucking horrific person he is.
As a reminder, he's suing Caroline Wallner, one of his accusers, for breaking her NDA. Not for libel. He's saying she shouldn't have told anyone about it, not that she lied.
He doesn't need the money. He's risking the Streisand effect. He is punishing Caroline, he's trying to intimidate other victims who have signed NDAs to scare them into continued silence.
He is no friend to women, to the LGBTQIA+ community, to anyone quite frankly unless he thinks they are of value to him.
Share the story. Put it on Facebook and bluesky and whatever else you're on. Make it clear what a horrifying person he is. Tell your friends. He's paying Edendale a fortune to try and cover this up. Make this hard for him. Make it cost him money.

The female protagonist of the glory (2025) and the genuine vitriol I'm seeing in reaction to her motives and actions, painting her slow but inevitable descent into more and more monstrousness as she first tries to avenge her own childhood abuse and then her mothers murder, as anything other than a direct retaliation against the very monstrous misogyny and the countless patriarchal crimes committed against her and other women in her society, is a telling sign of poor literacy and an even bleaker lack of understanding of the wider social context that the story sits in. I've seen ppl being annoyed that she hasn't reciprocated the ML's obvious devotion to her, or the heart rending pleads by her adopted daughter/neice to be a loving mother, her threatening to harm innocents around her to achieve her goal of avenging her mothers death even at the cost of her own life as well as others as some of her many crimes. I think what's actually annoying most ppl is that nothing softens her, in fact every story beat, every tragedy, any scrap of affection she gets actually makes her sharper and more myopic in her goal. This is just ONE woman's reaction to abuse and constant tragedy. There are lots of stories of healing from abuse but this very clearly is not one of them. The catharsis she seeks will not be found in the dignity of forgiveness. Frankly I hope she burns it all to the ground

Do you really think I don't hold grudges? An eye for an eye. Such shamelessness. You considered me a confidant just a moment ago, but now you think I'm shameless? What's wrong with that? You're no better yourself. Do it yourself.

One of the most dangerous things in the world is not being able to say no to people because you don't want to upset them or dissapoint them. This will completely ruin your life in every way possible, at work, in your private life, your sex life and your friendships. It's a way of removing your own consent in your own decisions and go against your wishes, it is always a crime against yourself. Let yourself have a say. Upsetting people is better than traumatizing yourself.

You're doing well. At least, you're always by Byeol's side when she needs you. I'm sure that Byeol knows that her dad is making an effort. So, just like now, always be by your daughter's side.

It really is insane how many people engage with art on a pure enjoyment level. Theyll go to a movie and the only deciding factor on whether or not they liked it is "was i bored or confused during that 90-120 minutes?" Youll talk to people about a book or show or film you both enjoyed and theyll have absolutely nothing to say about how it made them feel, or what they think it was trying to impart to them. It begins and ends at "it was fun to watch/read" it drives me nuts
