All my friends hate how much I talk about Transformers
Transformers, Destiny, Bionicle, DC, and Marvel occasionally, and some other things I draw things sometimes. Sometimes I even finish them
Stop, please STOP equating people’s appearance, disability, mental health, etc. to their actions or morality.
Good people are disabled and bad people are disabled. No one is disabled because they deserve it. Some people are disabled, some people are bad, some people are good. They are all things that can coexist, but they are all independent of each other.
like I think ninjato are cool as an idea and I like their aesthetic but I feel like saying "these were definitely real things the ninja used" when we have zero evidence they were ever used or even existed — and the current accepted understanding is that when ninja did use swords they would use the katana — is probably not the greatest way of informing people about them
someone needs to come and install a program on my pc that stops me from seeing any social media or discord post about pre-17th century arms and armour so I stop annoying people by rambling about things that don't matter whenever someone brings the subject up or says anything remotely inaccurate about it
im like kind of a guy whos not really a guy and sorta looks like a girl but isnt a girl but is sort of a girlboy maybe even could be boygirl if you stretch it a little i think
unfortunately I'm the type of idiot who categorises noodles and spaghetti/pasta as different things and is very insistent about it
in my defense it's in large part due to that time my grandad tried to cook some noodle soup dish and put spaghetti in with the noodles and it was utter ass
what I might do is, for now, just use ball joints or cheat the universal joint so the piston rod can rotate on the y axis despite that breaking the hinge, then come back after I've got all my assignments done and figure out how to make it all work.
because I need to finish the rest of the model and rig to use it for this assignment, and my teacher really doesn't care about this (because this is for a dynamics unit and not a rigging/modelling unit, and really I could just download a rig off the internet. and also for the purposes of the animation it's unlikely the breaking of the universal joint will even be that noticeable)
I just really want to make it all work properly because I'm stupid and obsessed with making my designs not cheat any mechanisms or systems
maybe I should pay however much money that cgma course on mechanical rigging is
trying to figure out how to rig a hydraulic piston system attached to the larger system via universal joints on each side is making my brain burn up
if I just did ball joints for the attachment method instead it'd be easy. I know how to do that. it requires zero thought or effort beyond setting up some basic aim constraints
the rotation axis limitations of universal joints (no y axis rotation) make maya's aim constraints piss themselves and break (causing the cylinder and rod to misalign and clip through each other)
and the system I've managed to figure out that fixes the aim constraints pissing themselves when I'm just sliding the attachment/anchor points around on the three axes (using multiple locators parented to the anchorpoints that only move on specific axes for the aim constraints to aim at) can't handle the larger body the anchor points are mounted to being rotated on any axis
maybe I should pay however much money that cgma course on mechanical rigging is
trying to figure out how to rig a hydraulic piston system attached to the larger system via universal joints on each side is making my brain burn up
wish I could make my brain think about and focus on the things I want it to and not get distracted by things that're either pointless or detrimental to think about
regular plea for people to stop using this as a reaction image
[ID: A white man in a suit who is saying, "Now this might strike some viewers as harsh, but I believe everyone involved in this story should die". End ID]
this is a real sentence that was said by a during an snl skit by the guy in the picture (norm macdonald) in response to a real news story - specifically, the murder of brandon teena, a trans man, whose death macdonald is mocking here. this very sentence that has now been turned into a meme prompted a trans rights org to picket the nbc in absence of any apology from them (the statement here slightly misquotes the sentence, but you can find video demonstrating that the wording in the image is what he said). i've used this as a reaction image in the past when i didn't know the history behind it but i think more people should know and we should stop using it like this
